On August 31, SBS's "Midnight TV Entertainment" reported news on Sooyoung's injury from her car accident on August 28.



The accident on August 28 occurred near the Gyeongbu Expressway and was caused by a negligent driver. The driver hit the car Sooyoung was in by crossing over into the center lane.



It was revealed that the accident happened while Sooyoung was on her way to a charity event for the blind and vision-impaired.



Her sister, Choi Soojin, who is currently active as a musical actress, stated, "There was a lot of blood. At the time, I was extremely surprised and thought she might even die."



She continued, "Her tailbone is currently fractured. It's not like she can get a cast, and there isn't a specific method of treatment, so they said she just has to rest. The concert for SBS’s “Scent of a Woman” which was scheduled for 11 September, to be held at the Olympic Gymnasium Arena in Bangi-dong, Seoul, has been cancelled.

On 31 August, the production team said “As that day is the weekend that is the eve of Chuseok, the admission schedules and traffic inconvenience, as well as other issues which would leave the fans dissatisfied were considered. Furthermore, with the concert expected to end around 11pm, fans living in other areas may not be able to get home on time, it was decided that even though ticketing was already underway, the concert will be cancelled.”

Initially, this concert was planned so that audiences could watch the last episode of the drama “Scent of the Woman” while listening to the soundtrack, and as the drama’s main characters Lee Yeon Jae (Kim Sun Ah) was diagnosed with gallbladder cancer, proceeds of the concert was to be donated to children who were suffering from cancer. Kim Sun Ah, Lee Dong Wook, Uhm Ki Jun, Seo Hyo Rim and others appearing in the drama were to have a talk session, and to showcase the soundtrack, participants included JYJ’s Kim Junsu, Big Mama’s Lee Young Hyun, JK Kim Dong Wook and others were scheduled to perform.

The production team said, “The organizers of the concert had announced the cancellation via the ticketing website on 30 August, and those who had already got their tickets during the presale which had ended, will be contacted individually.” And also “Despite preparing the event with good ambitions, but we’re sorry that it ended in a failure.”

Super Junior’s Music Video ‘Mr. Simple’ Ranked 3rd on YouTube World Chart! Proved Their Global Popularity!




Super Junior is making headlines by ranking No.3 on YouTube world chart with the music video of their 5th album title song ‘Mr. Simple.’



The music video of ‘Mr. Simple,’ which was released on August 4th through YouTube, ranked third on YouTube ‘Most Viewed Videos’ of this month (July 31st ~ August 30th) after foreign pop stars, Lady Gaga and Kanye West, and proved Super Junior’s global popularity once again.

Girl group 2NE1 concluded their Korean activities.

Idol band CNBLUE was denied entry to Japan.

In yesterday's episode of Strong Heart, Kyuhyun revealed a touching story about how he coped with struggle being the last member of Super Junior.



He revealed that he had a hard time because of Leeteuk in his firsts months in Super Junior.

Ryeowook also revealed that Kyuhyun went home drunk and crying and said to Ryeowook that he's tired of Leeteuk.

On August, 23th, SBS ‘Strong Heart’, Donghae revealed that before Super Junior debut, he was attacked.

Donghae said, “Before we debut as Super Junior, we almost debut as Smile. AK Corporation Donated the Radiation Detector

The Korea Communication Commission and the Korea Internet & Security Agency revealed on the 31st that in order to strengthen the individual user’s capability to protect his personal information at the wake of repeated draining and (unintended) exposure of personal information on the internet it will launch for the month of September the “2011 Protecting Personal Identity Information Campaign” and will hold from the 25th to the 30th “Concentrated Duration to Change Passwords.”

On this campaign, all of the major corporations of internet businesses including from the industries of communication, portals, media, shopping malls, finance, medicine, education, and social commerce have participated jointly. The campaign will have as its main contents the changing of passwords, the organization of accounts, and the switch to I-PIN which can be used in lieu of one’s social security number on the web.

This campaign which will take place with JYJ as the main model plan to promote with concentration on a variety of online and offline routes, such as TV, radio, subway, bus, theater, various advertisements and posters through social network services, and campus clubs for information protection of colleges from all over the country.

In order to participate in the campaign, one should click the pop-up or the banner displayed on major websites of Korea or go to the campaign website at www.doitnow2011.kr.

An affiliate from the Korea Communication Commission said: “We anticipate that a culture in which the user himself can grow his own capabilities to protect his personal information to prevent the damage from the draining and misuse of personal information.”
