[News] Preorders for Kara's Japanese single takes over album chart

Preorders for Kara's first Japanese single have taken over a Japanese daily music chart, according to the girl's agency DSP Media on Tuesday.

DSP announced in a press release that the preorders for "Mister," produced in three editions, placed on the top three slots of the daily preorder chart for major Japanese record retailer Tower Record on July 15.

Version A includes the CD and a DVD, B features the CD plus a 28-page pictorial and the last version contains the CD with a bonus track. Each edition has sequentially positioned itself at the No. 1, 2 and 3 spot on the chart since orders began last week.

An official from their Japanese management company Universal Music Sigma, a branch of Universal Music Group, explained that the high number of preorders will contribute largely to increasing the popularity of the girl group in the country.

Kara, composed of members Han Seung-yeon, Nicole, Kang Ji-young, Park Gyu-lee and Gu Hara, made their debut in 2007 and have released several singles and albums which include their hit songs "Pretty Girl" and "Wanna."

The girls will be visiting Japan at the end of July to begin promoting their new single, where they will appear on a popular cable show, as well as hold a live concert and hand-shaking event at Japan's Studio Coast on August 14.

Kara's debut single album "Mister" will go on sale in Japan on August 11.
