[News] TVXQ writes new record in Oricon's 45-year history
The duo of TVXQ continues to write another new record in Oricon's history.
Following their record-breaking single "TONE", TVXQ released their new Japanese single "STILL" on March 14th. The new track once again taken over the top spot of Oricon Daily Singles chart immediately after its released. It also topped the Weekly Chart of that week, handing TVXQ its 10th weekly number one.
Having 10 weekly #1 single albums is a first for any foreign singer in Japan, a feat that comes 45 years since the Oricon started ranking sales in January 1968. TVXQ even broke its own records for the foreign singer with the most #1 hits.
"STILL" claimed first place on Oricon Daily singles chart by selling 84,029 copies on the first day of release. It sold additional 25,183 copies the next day, maintaining the daily ranking #1. The album sold over the total of 100,000 copies within 2 days.
