MBLAQ has performed in the K-POP Charity Concert hosted by PD Radio at Bitec Bangna Hall in Bangkok, Thailand on the 29th of April. They have also given a short interview at the press conference before the concert started.

△ How many times have you been in Thailand and how do you feel?
G.O: This time we've come with all five of us. It was really a pity that Mir didn't come with us last time. I can tell you that this concert is going to be awesome.

△ What do you have in store for Thai fans?
G.O: We've prepared a slow beat song for Thai A-plus today. Since every time we came here we only performed dance songs, we want to repay our fans with this song.

△ How do you feel about participating in this concert?
Lee Joon: It is an honor to be a part of a good concert like this one. We're glad that our music can help bring back smiles to the victims faces. Please smile always, because it can help you forget the sorrow. We want you to smile a lot and enjoy with us.
G.O: I also feel sorry for those people since they're living their hard lives while we're staying in a nice hotel with good food. I want to tell them to hang in there. Behind bad luck comes good luck so please be strong.

△ How do you feel about debuting in Japan?
Seungho: We're so excited about our Japan debut on the 4th of May. We will be heading to Japan shortly after we're back in Korea. It's so exciting to meet with our fans in Japan. This debut will be like the first stage for us and not a comeback.

△ How do you feel about your Japanese single, 'Your Luv' doing well on charts?
G.O: We're very happy to have reached #1 on the chart even before debuting. That has been marked as a good start for us. Everyone please support us.

The 10th Annual MTV Video Music Awards Japan was renamed to MTV Video Music Aid Japan (VMAJ) and it will be held on June 25th, 2011 at Makuhari Messe (a convention center) in Chiba City, Japan. The event was named as VMAJ is support of the Japanese Red Cross and encourage the rebuilding efforts after the massive earthquake and tsunami in Northeastern Japan on March 11th.

Girls' Generation's third Japan single, 'MR.TAXI/Run Devil Run', has reached the number one spot on the Oricon Charts.

The single 'MR.TAXI/Run Devil Run' was released on the 27th of April, and has topped the Oricon Daily Single chart since the 29th. The single has also reached the #1 spot on mobile site 'Rekochoku' and Japan's iTunes single charts, symbolizing how popular Girls' Generation is in Japan.

Unlike their previous singles which were remakes of their Korean ones, 'MR.TAXI' is a newly produced song. Their PV was revealed before the single, making fans from both Korea and Japan praise the group for pulling off such a concept.

Girls' Generation's first arena tour concert has gained a lot of attention, in which nearly 300,000 people applied for the tickets. Due to the high anticipation, 3 more performances were added, totaling to 10 performances across 10 cities in Japan.

JYJ’s Kim Junsu talked of how he felt when he was chosen as the most vocally talented idol star.

On the 25th, cable channel ENT’s ‘Entertainment Station-The Interview’ aired the interview they held at JYJ’s cosmetic brand photoshoot.

JYJ has filed a lawsuit in Japan against their management company AVEX Entertainment for interfering with their attempt to hold a charity concert.

JYJ, a boyband formed by former TVXQ members Kim Jae-joong, Kim Jun-su, and Park Yoo-chun after they filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment for unjust contract, had planned a charity concert to aid earthquake-affected areas in Japan. However, the concert’s venues have canceled their contracts with JYJ after AVEX allegedly pressured them.

JYJ’s agency C-JeS Entertainment and the concert organizer ZAK Corporation have filed two provisional dispositions against AVEX with the Tokyo District Court.

AVEX released an official statement, in which they do not deny the action. “Our company holds the exclusive rights for JYJ’s activities in Japan, and we have just taken actions against the infringement rightfully and properly,” AVEX said. They also claimed that they have received blackmails and threats due to the matter.

AVEX signed a contract with three members of JYJ in early 2010 after JYJ filed the lawsuit with SM Entertainment. A few months later, AVEX announced the “suspension of activities” of three members, arguing JYJ should refrain from promoting in Japan while legal proceedings against SM Entertainment were under way in Korea.

This “suspension of activities” has kept JYJ from conducting any promotional activities in Japan. Even after the suspension, however, AVEX has continued to make profits with products such as DVDs and JYJ footage.

Due to their ongoing lawsuit with their management company, JYJ has had difficulties in their activities in Korea as well. They have released an album, held concerts globally, and acted in dramas and musicals, but have had trouble getting airtime on television entertainment shows.

Another pop group, KARA, who also had three members embroiled in a dispute with their management company DSP for nearly 3 months, recently announced they have resolved the disagreement and will continue their career with DSP.

The new head of MBC’s “I Am A Singer”, producer Shin Jung Soo, has listed the names of singers he is trying to recruit to the show.

“I’ve contacted IU and Yang Hee Eun,” said producer Shin at the show’s press conference which was held on the 29th at the MBC studio in Seoul.

‘I Am a Singer’ does not have a policy on who can appear on the show. “I don’t count out idols,” said Shin.

However, he also added that he will not bother someone who disagrees with the survival aspect of the show. “I don’t see the need to force a singer who disagrees with the survival notion,” said Producer Shin. He added, “We ask them if they agree with our system at the interview.”

He also mentioned, “No singer on the show is perfect and anyone can appear as long as he/she agrees with the survival aspect.”

In addition to IU and Yang Hee Eun, Shin is also currently recruiting an indie band. “I can’t say who. For every ten people we contact, six of them show interest but four say the show doesn’t meet their professional goal.”

‘I’m a Singer’ currently features the original singers, Lee So Ra, Park Jung Hyun, Kim Bum Soo andYoon Do Hyun, and the new contestants, Kim Yeon Woo, Im Jae Bum and BMK. The new episode airs on May 1st.

Singer Lee Jung became angry towards his junior group, Infinite, during recordings.

An incident was created where Lee Jung, who is currently an MC in Mnet’s ‘Director’s Cut Season 2’ with Yoon Jongshin and Harim, became angry towards his juniors. To change his hit song, ‘Shilla’s Night’, into a 2011 version, Lee Jung went to Kyungju along with his co-MCs, Horan, and Infinite’s Sunggyu, Hoya, and L. 

During the program’s corner, ‘Tell Me, Talk’, Yoon Jongshin asked, “Which of us seems like they’ll hold a grudge for the longest?”. Everyone picked Harim causing him to be embarrassed. Yoon Jongshin asked Infinite why they had picked Harim. To this, the members revealed the reason without any hesitation. Harim was a bit taken aback with Infinite’s response.

While watching this situation, Lee Jung suddenly said, “I feel that kids these days really have no common sense”, causing the whole recording set to be quiet. To calm himself down, Lee Jung left the recording set. However when Lee Jung arrived again, the whole set was full of laughter. The reason is because this was all a hidden camera trick.
