[News] MBLAQ and f(x) chosen as best rookie groups


MBLAQ has been chosen as the best rookie group that stood out in the first half of 2010.
Music portal site Bugs held a poll, that went on from June 29th until July 5th, asking visitors to choose ‘the best rookie group from the first half of 2010′.
‘Chic-dols’, MBLAQ, took first place with 3,459 (46%) of the total votes. MBLAQ debuted in October of last year with their single album ‘JUST BLAQ‘, and became known as the idol group from world star Rain. In mid-May, they released their second single album with title song, ‘Y‘, and have been promoting their album along with appearing on various shows. MBLAQ’s single ‘Y’ is currently in 33rd place on the ‘Bugs Weekly Top 100′ chart.
The group that fought for the number one spot, but ended up taking second, was f(x). Netizens commented, “Out of all the idols nowadays, f(x) is the most original.” f(x) received the title as the best girl group for the first half of 2010 as they released their first mini album ‘NU ABO‘ in May. Along with the song being a hit itself, their ‘cheek touch dance’ and ‘na-na-na dance’ also became hits. Along with their mini album, f(x) had a smart phone album application released for ‘NU ABO‘. f(x) members are currently concentrating on their individual schedules.
Third place went to the group that has been making themselves known through variety shows, BEAST. BEAST received much love during the first half of the year with their hip-hop single ‘Special‘, as well as their ballad ‘Easy‘. BEAST is currently making their way to becoming hallyu idol stars by promoting in the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia, amongst many others.
With their debut single ‘I’m A Loner‘ ranking number one public music charts, CNBLUE took fourth place in this poll. Netizens stated, “CNBLUE flourishes in music and entertainment in general.” After releasing their second mini album, ‘Bluelove‘, CNBLUE has been taking the number one spot with their title song ‘LOVE‘ on various music charts. As their promotions have ended, they are currenlty preparing for an Asia tour.
Fifth place went to Secret, who has been receiving their popularity with their latest single ‘Magic‘. Sixth place went to the male group with the most members right behind Super Junior, ZE:A.
As a way of celebrating the upcoming Constitution Day, Bugs is currently holding a poll asking, “Which singer would make a good judge?”
