[Info] Romantic Entanglement Hinted at in ‘Marry Me, Mary’

The latest KBS2 drama “Marry Me, Mary” is developing an entanglement in the relationship between the protagonists.

In the third episode on November 15, Wie Mary (Moon Geun-young) asks Kang Mu-gyul (Jang Keun-suk) to extend their contract to pretend to be a couple for another 100 days to deceive his father (Park Sang-myeon), who wants Mary to marry a son of an old wealthy friend of his family.

But Mu-gyul flatly refuses, despite her attempts to flatter him. Mary tries to gain his sympathy by looking poor and fragile and helps him to arrange and clean the place he has recently moved into.Mu-guyl unwittingly comes to throw a housewarming party with his band members and Mary’s friends. Hearing the conversation between them, Mary happens to know that Mu-gyul’s mother, like her father, is an immature single parent making trouble for their child.

Mary becomes drunk, and Mu-gyul has to carry her to her home and hears Mary say in half sleep, “I’m sorry, father. I wished I could run away from you. Since we paid off all our debts, we can now live happily, right? After I graduate from college and find a job, I can support you. I know what a hard time you’ve had raising me alone without mother.” This makes him feel sympathetic and compassionate toward her.

Meanwhile, Jung In (Kim Jae-wook), the son of her father’s friend whom Mary is supposed to marry and who runs a talent agency, happens to see Mu-gyul singing at a club and wants to sign a contract with him. The two have drinks, and Jung In brings a drunken Mu-gyul to his home. The next morning, Mary comes to Jung In’s to do her job for Jung In, as she had made a deal with him to avoid marrying him, and all three confront each other.

“Marry Me, Mary” airs every Monday and Tuesday on KBS2 at 9:55 p.m.
