[News] CNBLUE Concluded Zepp Tour in Tokyo and Talks About Their Future Hopes


CNBLUE’s third Japanese single ‘RE-MAINTENANCE’ was released on 9th of January. They have also finished their Zepp Tour to 4 cities, namely Osaka (9 January), Fukuoka (11 January), Nagoya (13 January) and Tokyo (16 January).

The tickets for their shows were sold out immediately when they were opened for sale. Their third single ‘RE-MAINTENANCE’ ranked second in the oricon chart and 14th in the weekly chart which shows that they are really popular.

Jung Yonghwa and Lee Jonghyun composed the songs in ‘RE-MAINTENANCE’. During the tour, they have not only performed the three songs in the new single but also their debut songs ‘I’m A Loner’ and another hit song ‘LOVE’. They performed a total of 25 songs including the encore stage.

They were conducting the interview with the MC in good Japanese. Yong Hwa said, ‘I want to do live performances,not only in Japan but also in Korea and even the whole world’. The MC praised his good Japanese and Yong Hwa responded, ‘Your words is very encouraging’, Jungshin said that “I wanted to improve Japanese”. While JongHyun said “I want to give everybody courage. I wanted to make all happy”. And Minhyuk also said,’I want to write songs for our album and to have exceptional drum skills’.

They then talked about their aspirations. He added, ‘Instead of performing in a great hall, I would like to perform live like in Zepp many more times in the future’. The venue where the interview was held was filled with their fans who were there to cheer for them.

On that day, CNBLUE was asked in their interview about their first Zepp Tour. Yong Hwa said “Last year we did tour in clubs but we have been longing to perform in Zepp Halls and they have been very cooperating” . He also revealed, ” The songs in ‘RE-MAINTENANCE’ were composed by us and arranged by Japanese musicians. The songs are played using a variety of musical instruments. We are glad that the songs have turned out to be a very good. The lyrics means to remind people not to forget their original passion. If you pay attention to the lyrics, you are reminded to be back to the basics as well.”

It has already been first anniversary of their Korean debut. When asked about how other members have changed in the past year, JongHyun said, ‘Yonghwa’s great singing and guitar skills lightened up the whole band and the great music he made also helped us a lot.’

Yong Hwa said , ‘Having such busy schedule, I think it is great that we can find time to compose our songs and more elements are added’. And about Minhyuk, Yong Hwa said, ‘ Drums possess great power which can be shown on the stage. And now Minhyuk possesses the great power of the drum. We are given very glamorous stage now and during performances, we collaborated well with the exact rhythm. I believe they (his skills) will grow more.’

Minhyuk said, ’I am responsible for the rhythm part but we all have been growing together. We are growing taller too (laugh).. Anyway, I feel that we have been growing together.’ The other members also feel the same.

When asked about their personal goals in this year, Jungshin said he wanted to write more lyrics and music, JongHyun said that it is his dream that many people can enjoy their music for a long time. Yonghwa said he wanted to make a lot of songs this year too and get other members to involve in making the album. He also hoped to bring a lot fun to the fans. Lastly, Minhyuk said that he wanted to try writing lyrics and participate in making the album. He also wanted to enhance his skills of playing drums too.
