In the women’s 50m swimming part of MBC’s ‘Idol Star Swimming Athletics Championship,’ Rainbow’s Kim Jaekyung and Go Woori won the gold and silver medal. It is known they are athletes but it’s been confirmed that this atletic mindset ran in their families.

It’s been known that Jaekyung’s father was national representative swimmer, Kim Gongshik. She had followed her father’s footsteps, receiving training and participating in swimming and diving competitions. Surpassing Jaekyung, Woori won the gold medal. Under her parent’s guidance and origins to the Korea Physical College and dance, she undertook sports.

G.NA, a solo singer who is actively promoting ‘Black & White,’ has an amazing physical condition that originated from her parents. G.NA’s mother, Yoon Taesun used to be a national representative swimmer in Canada. She is close to rocker Yoo Hyunsang’s wife, Choi Yoonhee, who is known as Asia’s mermaid. G.NA was close to her to the point where she called her ‘auntie’ and has lived with her before in Canada.

G.NA’s father, Choi Sunsoo, originated from the Marines and was a national representative taekwondo player. G.NA’s younger sister is currently active as an athlete in Canada. Before G.NA debuted as a singer, she played volleyball and did cheerleading.

On another note, After School’s Uee, who played a very important role in hosting the swimming competition, is well known as the daughter of Kim Sungab, assistant coach of the Nexen Heroes. In Incheon’s Physical High School, Uee was a swimmer and appeared on TV several times, showing off her swimming skills.
