“Having an Affair” sung by G-Dragon and Park Myung Soo in MBC Infinity Challenge is on the long run in popularity.
An electronic dance track “Having an Affair” sang by G-Dragon was released on July 2, nearly a month ago, but it is still rated high on the music chart.
On July 31, according to music portal site Melon, 2ne1’s “Ugly” hit number 1, Miss A’s “Goodbye Baby” came 2nd and “Having an Affair” hit 3rd.
“Having an Affair” have hit number 1 on Melon for surprisingly long time. It kept a high record on other music charts, as well.
Typical modern dance songs have faced a fall back since pop songs from girl groups seized popularity. However, “Having an Affair” made a firm position on music charts for nearly a month.
Usually, any new song that hits number 1 in popularity subsides in one or two weeks, and end up being pushed out of people’s minds completely in a month.
Therefore, the consistent popularity of “Having an Affair” is surprising, but perhaps it would have been expected, since it was sung by one of Korea’s top star G-Dragon during the popular entertainment program Infinity Challenge.
A source from the k-pop industry said, “The song is so popular because it was sung in a well-known entertainment program and because of G-Dragon’s popularity. Perhaps also since it is a hot summer time, the electronic dance song “Having an Affair” is perfectly suitable to people’s mood.”
It aroused many people’s interest to see the exuberant effect that G-Dragon and Park Myung Soo pulled together.
