JYJ Pursues A 100 Million Won Compensation For Damages Lawsuit Against The ‘Sasaeng Fan Assault’ Report!

JYJ have filed a compensation for damages lawsuit against the press who first covered the ‘Sasaeng fan controversy’. According to legal circles on the 2nd, JYJ submitted a 100 million Won compensation for damages lawsuit to the Seoul Central District Courts on the 1st against the entertainment media outlet ‘D’ for reporting that JYJ assaulted their fans.

The legal representative of JYJ stated that, “Publicly releasing an illegally recorded audio file under JYJ’s names without the consent of the involved party is a clear case of defamation and an invasion of privacy.” He continued to add, “We filed a criminal case in March against the press but after much discussion, it was decided that it would be better to pursue a civil case so we cancelled the earlier case and submitted another complaint.”

In March, ‘D’ released a report, with supplementary audio files, that claimed that the members of JYJ swore at and assaulted sasaeng fans. JYJ’s agency C-JeS Entertainment released an official announcement in response to the report that stated, “We believe that this is a malicious article with the sole purpose of attacking the members of JYJ.”
