YG Entertainment to debut SuPearls and new girl group later this year

YG Entertainment, one of Korea’s top entertainment agencies, is getting ready to debut its newest family members, SuPearls and new girl group, later this year.

On August 13, YG Entertainment representative told Star News, “SuPearls will debut in September, while our other new girl group will debut in October.”

SuPearls is formed by finalists from SBS “K-Pop Star” including Park Ji Min, Michelle Lee, Lee Jung Mi, and Lee Seung Joo. With the audition show’s winner Park Ji Min having signed with JYP Entertainment, YGE replaced her with runner-up Lee Ha Yi.

YGE head and “K-Pop Star” judge Yang Hyun Suk remarked that the SuPearls members were just as talented as their current trainees. He wanted to debut the group as early as possible in order to show his appreciation to all the “K-Pop Star” fans.

Shortly after SuPearls’ debut, YGE will showcase their much anticipated new girl group. Though specific details about the group have yet to be disclosed, the agency already introduced some of its members including Kim Eun Bi, Yoona Kim and two mysterious girls.

YG informed StarNews, “We cannot disclose any specific information including the total number of members, but we’re aiming for an October debut.”
