U-ie is currently on cable channel tvN’s Monday-Tuesday series Birdie Buddy. She will show off her beautiful legs on the the upcoming episdoe airing on the 23rd. [...]
U-ie wore sweat shorts and walked through the golf course without wearing shoes. Her legs were still beautiful even without high heels.
Her show Birdie Buddy is based on artist Lee Hyun Se’s comic Birdie. The story is about a girl named Sung Mi Soo (played by U-ie) who wants to be the queen of golf and a talented golfer Min Hae Ryung (played by Lee Da Hee).
U-ie in Singapore UW Magazine talking about her being the next drama queen which the dramas she acted on Ojakgyo Brothers had over 20% viewer ratings for the first four episodes and talking about the delayed drama Birdie Buddy.
Kahi(updated in twitter):We participated in a Japanese variety show.. Waiting for a comeback bang~ ah~ bored ㅠㅠ Variety show was the first and it was live as well but although I was nervous and made some mistakes, it was a good time~! In the future we will show you a good impression!^^.
After school attend a variety show in japan.Kahi said she's was "bored" and waiting for the comeback bang!.
U-ie had an hour long interview with the Daily Star. In it she talked about her role model, her drama roles and being a member of After School.
Currently in a ‘golden age’ where there are a combination of active actors and singers U-ie is getting a lot of attention for her talents as an all around entertainer. When asked about role models U-ie quickly cited Uhm Jung-Hwa the singer and actress without any hesitation. U-ie stated that, “Uhm Jung-Hwa Unni (senior) has a variety of images…“. Uhm Jung-Hwa has been able to have a long and successful career as both a singer and an actress and U-ie is hoping to follow in her footsteps. While U-ie spoke of Uhm Jung-Hwa her eyes shone and the reporter was able to see her sincerity and tell how big a fan she is.
Since working on the set of ‘Ojakgyo Brothers’ U-ie has been receiving a lot of helpful tips from her seniors. Though it is “still very hard to accept criticism…” it has helped U-ie become a better actress and made her stronger. U-ie revealed she feels a little pressure that her two dramas ‘Birdie Buddy’ and ‘Ojakgyo Brothers’ will be on television at the same time. But, since the two characters she plays have a “180-degree difference“, U-ie is confident viewers will respond well to both shows.
Promoting with After School along with her individual activities takes a lot of time and energy.
When U-ie was asked if she would rather focus on her passion which is acting instead of singing she replied that being “on the stage…it’s just a happy pleasure I could not give up“.
Even though After School has a ‘Graduation’ concept when prompted U-ie firmly stated, ”I never want to” in regards to leaving the group. U-ie has a strong attachment to the group and revealed she had been offered a chance to be an actress being debuting in After School. U-ei lovingly said, “I was offered the chance to be an actress before my debut, I took the opportunity to be a member of After School“. This chance to be in the group was seized by U-ie because she sincerely felt it was the right choice in her heart.
Since her debut in After School, U-ie has been working long and hard without a pause. When she was asked if she regretted not being able to fully experience life as a regular college student U-ie who attends Sungkyunkwan University replied that her studies are very important but she doesn’t want to miss the opportunity of having a successful entertainment career.
Because of this she will attend college while still remaining active as a singer and actress though she recognizes she “still has a long way to go” and enthusiastically mentioned she wants to finish school in her twenties while laughing.

All the members have a height of 167 cm + just as models, exceptional styles to be boastful of, and show amazing dance performances. After School, on July 17th, held their 『AFTERSCHOOLJAPANPREMIUMPARTY-Bang!Bang!Bang!-』 at AkasakaBLITZ. [...]
This spring, they collaborate with Namie Amuro for her album 『Checkmate! 』and recorded the music video and song ‘make it happen’. The pv attracted attention (?). Before their debut, the event they held attracted many fans.
The event opening just quite recently, “Shampoo”and “Because of You”was very successful. (?) Japanese fans and Korean fans are alike as they both cheered loudly and encouraged, After School responded with a hot performances at their first event with an unforgettable stage.
With greetings from leader Kahi announced 「After School on August 17th from avex will debut with 『Bang!』」Fans applauded loudly and congratulated them.
Q. Japanese debut has been decided, what do you think about this event?
Juyeon: We, After School, remember the time of our Korean debut. We were really nervous but, we saw a lot of our Japanese fans, and felt everyones love, it made us really happy. Today, everyone at the venue left our members with happy memories.
Q. Japanese staff though of the catch phrase “3 S (SUPER SEXY, SUPER STYLE, SUPER SHOW)” what do you think of it?
U-ie: Generally speaking this is amazing praise to receive. Thank you very much! Today at the venue, let’s have fun during the live. All of the females fans really have great, cute style, even the fans should be called “3 S”.
Q. How did you think of Japanese『Bang!』jacket photoshoot?
E-Young: When I was still a trainee and I saw After School perform 『Bang!』I thought they looked really cool and I wanted to perform it too but thanks to the fact that we’re debuting with 『Bang!』in Japan I am able to wear the clothing for 『Bang!』for the photoshoot – I am really happy about that. During the photoshoot, all the unnies taught me a lot of poses, it was really fun!
Q. How did you think of 『Bang!』Japanese edition shooting?
Jung Ah: On the day of the Japanese shooting for 『Bang!』PV, the Japanese staff came to Korea. It was raining very heavily actually the first time we had the recording for the Korean『Bang!』music video, it was snowing very heavily. This must be sign that Japan will love 『Bang!』.
ないかと思っています (?)
Q. The Japanese version of 『Bang!』has been re-arranged for the Japan debut. How do you this of this?
Raina: We tried our best to study Japanese and it was our intention but in reality it was really hard to sing the song, there’s still a long way to go, great effort is needed is what I think. But the recording was very fun. However the director and staff had to go through great difficulties and check our Japanese, thank you very much. The Japanese version is as likeable as the Korean version, they are both very fun to sing.
Q. Before the Japanese debut, we saw the collaboration with Namie Amuro, how do you think of that?
Nana: It was such a great, great honour! When I was younger, I’ve always admired Amuro – san and the moment we filmed the PV and I met her, I was really, really, really happy! Again, on the filming set we were on a high set with our legs crossed, we wore a safety belt to get onto it. It was scary; during the rehearsal I wasn’t able to look at the members’ faces but during the production concentration on dancing wasn’t needed, so watching the staff was the most suspenseful (?).
Q. What are the goals of having in activities in Japan?
Kahi: Today, at the venue everyone came, after this I hope for fans to keep on supporting us. I hope to have a large venue with fans and everyone and perform live. (?) Next month, we will appear at a-nation, anyhow we will try to show everyone a wonderful performance. We’ll do our best.
Q. In Japan, if you have a day off, where would you like to go?
Lizzy: I love Kitty-chan, I want to go to Sanrio shop! Also, I saw documentary program about a Dolphin Show, I wanna go see that!
Q. How long did you practice the drums for 『Bang!』?
Juyeon: All the members, everyone put our hearts as one, worked hard together for 8~9 months.
Q. The Japanese version of “You’re Beautiful”has been broadcasted. How do you think of it?
U-ie: You’re Beautiful, the Japanese remake makes me feel happy. I want to act with AKB48’s Haruna Kojima – san. She is very lovely. When I watch her, I find that my heart beats very fast. Without fail, I’d like to meet you.
After School's performance at Ulsan Summer Festival was aired today at Music Core. Both A.S Red & A.S Blue are scheduled to end promotions as early as this week, due to their Japanese promotions of Bang! in mid-August.Although some of the Playgirlz were really anticipating the promotions of both 'In The Night Sky' & 'Wonder Boy',Pledis had to end promotions early to prepare for upcoming appearances of After School in Japan.Although Playgirlz are dissapointed with promotiions ending early,do support After School in their upcoming Bang! promotions in Japan!
Kahi: OBS Entertainment news viewers, hello, we are A.S. Red and Blue. Nice to meet you. I think you will be able to see the differences in our concept just by looking at us seated here. Us (points to the AS Red side), when you look at us we are the ones in charge of sexy, powerful, strong charisma. When you look at Blue, its like all of them are goddesses and innocent. An innocent and lovable image.
QN: Are they having a rival-mindset between the 2 sub units?
Jooyeon: Rather than being rivals, rather than having all 8 of us promoting as one After School together, this time round it’s a better way to show off our own charms in groups of 4. Rather than being competitive, it’s better..-
Jungah: -We can cheer each other on.
QN: What’s the one moment that you remember the most after debut?
Kahi: During Bang, when we are playing with the drums, all of us have the same hairstyle. Bur Raina’s hair is short so she had to wear a wig. And if you watch our performance, there’s a part where we threw the sticks to the floor and grabbed another pair from behind us and continued drumming. So when we did that, pulling another pair of drum sticks from behind…-
Jooyeon: -the wig…
Kahi: -the wig suddenly was pulled and fell to the floor in front of her. Raina’s wig. It looks like a huge caterpillar.
Jungah: It’s funnier to see it in person than to see it on some comedy program.
Kahi: It was a really fun memory that we had.
The members are suppose to choose the member who fits the question the most.
QN: The member who is most different before and after makeup?
-Everyone picked Nana, even Nana herself-
Nana: Even though I am different, it’s not weird! When I remove my makeup, I look like a baby, innocent and cute. (Look at Uie’s expression LOL) When I have my makeup on…-
-Kahi snatched the mic over-
Kahi: No, no.
QN: Member with most aegyo?
-Everyone picked Lizzy except Kahi who picked Nana but changed to Lizzy after realising everyone picked Lizzy-
Jooyeon: Dialect seems to have it own aegyo charms. When she speaks, it seems to sound fun and have aegyo.
Kahi: Like “Unnie, have you eaten?” when Lizzy says it -imitates accent- “Unnie, have you eaten?”…
Jooyeon: And she has a smiling face (when she speaks) so when you are angry with her, she has the smile on her face and you can’t really flare up.
Jungah: Most importantly, her age itself is an aegyo.
Lizzy: Unnie have you eaten~?
QN: Member who washes the least?
Lizzy said Eyoung.
Lizzy: I share a room with Eyoung. After our practices at night, we will be drenched in sweat. So I will shower before I sleep. When I come out of the showers, the light is already off and she’s sleeping. So I asked “Why didn’t you shower before you sleep?” and Eyoung said “Because I am too tired.”
Kahi:You shower once you wake up right?
Eyoung: Yes, I shower the next morning.
QN: Member who changes the most in front of guys?
-Everyone points to Uie-
Uie: Me?
-Everyone LOL-
Jooyeon: Uie in front of guys, her voice will be really cute and have lots of aegyo. She herself doesn’t realize it. Maybe that’s how she really is?!
Kahi: Uie likes lots of skinship too.
Jooyeon:She must have really like guys.
Uie talks about her character in Birdie Buddy and her partner.
Uie:Even though she seems arrogant, she is a character that really loves her father. It’s really an honor and I am happy when I meet him (her partner in the show). He helped me a lot and we had a really enjoyable filming together
Ending.
Kahi:“In the Night Sky” and “Wonder Boy”, we wait for everyone’s love for the 2 songs. Please give us lots of support. And we will begin out Japanese promotions in August, no matter where we are, we will be singers that Korea will be proud of. Please give us support. Fighting!

UEE was placed 1st by "Pops in seoul" "Best 5" chart show. The show even qoutes kahi from strong heart awhile back when she talked about UEE instilling discipline in mankenes which basically "orange caramel" back then for stuff like who goes into the cart 1st who bathes 1st and stuff. For does who do not know its a program that ranks top 5 idols of just about every random topic there is from "the most alien like idol" to "the most popular member of idol groups". the show is uploaded onto "ArirangTV Entertainment" youtube channel for international fans to enjoy. It is hosted by NS Yoon Ji in english so no translation need(at least for those proficient in english)
PS for those who dun noe yet UEE comes from a sports school so she's very particular on senior-junior discipline guess her sch's culture was very particular abt that =)
