Dutch magazine Stars dedicated four pages to K-pop in their most recent issue, becoming the first news media in that country to give such attention to Hallyu. Titled ‘Very 2012: Kpop conquers the world’, the article is a kind of Kpop for Dummies.
‘K-pop: it’s almost impossible to escape it! In Asia and the USA Korean pop music is already popular, but in Europe, it’s only known with a small group of trendsetters. The trendy and distinctive looks and different music styles make these girlgroups and boybands absolutely hot. Watch out, because K-pop is about to rule the world!’
The article continues with bio’s on T-ara, Super Junior, Big Bang, Beast, 2NE1, SHINee and Girls’ Generation, giving info on the members of the groups, their signature songs, style and looks, and some nice facts. TVXQ is given a honorable mention for their legendary status.

Super Junior is heading to Paris, France for their solo concert and all the members are excited and happy to meet their French fans.

On the 2nd day of April, a new Twitter update has been posted by Super Junior's leader Leeteuk. He is excited for the concert and said "Will done the concert well in France and back safety!!!^^ This is the first personal concert so will put all the efforts on it!!! Ahh!! And then!! The phone will be continued!! A place of communication will be produced well then tell everyone when I reach home!!".

Leeteuk assures you that they will do well in the concert and will leave a great memories with the fans. He also said that his phone will stay on and maybe to receive messages or calls from the fans. 

However, Leeteuk's prank annoyed a normal citizen because Leeteuk tried to fool their fans so he tweeted an incomplete number, the last 3 digits are missing so the netizens thought that it is 004 but it turned out that it is not Leeteuk's real number but a normal citizen's number.

Just moments ago, it was announced that Girls’ Generation will be releasing their repackaged, first Japanese album in Korea. The album, titled “Re:Package Album: Girls’ Generation ~The Boys~” will be out in Korea on the 9th of February.
There will be two different versions of the album. The regular edition will only come with a CD, while the first press edition will come with a CD and a DVD. Below is the track list of the album.

The drama ‘Birdie Buddy’ starring U-ie will be unveiled to the public in August on tvN.

After changing the station the drama would be aired on combined with many setbacks the drama ‘Birdie Buddy’ has finally found a home on tvN. In order for ‘Birdie Buddy’ to fit into tvN’s show schedule cuts will be made to shorten the already recorded film. Each episode will be 45 minutes and a total of 24 episodes will air.

The drama’s first episode will air on Monday, August 8th.

Lee Sangyup will play the friend of Park Yoochun in the new MBC Monday-Tuesdsay drama “Ripley” that will air starting at the end of May.

Although the role of the friend is of course give less weight than the lead actor it is not a character that is given to just anyone easily. That is because he must function as someone who supports the lead and at the same time make alive his own character to act as indispensable (T/N: literally, “gamcho” which is an indispensable herb in Chinese medicine).

He explained: “I don’t think it would do for me to stand out more than the lead. Yoochun is a character who keeps his composure in his drama and so it seems that I who is the friend will act as the effervescent one. Probably I will be more playful than I was in “Midas.”

Continuing, to the question of “From Zhang Hyuk to Park Yoochun’s friend, it seems that people around you will be quite envious,” he laughed: “Because around me I have many male friends, that’s not really the case. I think when I become Yoochun’s friend I’ll receive the envy of JYJ fans.”

Park Jung Min say that wife beater and jacket is the casual wear that is more of his usual self, he said he only start to be concern about his image was when during debuting period [That time I am really put a lot of emphasis on my image, during work will be wearing different kind of costumes, outfits but privately I like to wear casually.] He expressed that he only took 2 minutes to prepare before going out, he continued with a laugh [But still will choose nice sporty outfits to wear!]

Often bought stuff without thinking
He has MBMJ T-shirts, watches etc.. He said [Once when I was in Hong Kong, I saw a knitted sweater which is on discount, thus I went into the shop to take a look, in the end the stuff that I bought are all not under discount cos those beautiful nice clothes are not under discount!] He admitted that he love shopping, said laughingly [I often buy stuff without thinking, my stylist will always stop me, cos the stuff that I bought are always very expensive and impractical, my stylist is more practical, will help me to choose.] Regarding his album image, he too has alot of ideas, 1 of the member from his entourage said with a smile [He is very willing to express his views.] Will you adopted his ideas? Super Junior Shindong was humiliated by his fans.

On the 16th Shindong uploaded a picture onto his own blog twitter saying “Thailand concert live! During the last song a picture with the fans! But I took the wrong picture. They were Yesung hyung’s fans. For some reason it felt weird.” It is a picture of Shindong smiling brightly as the fandom is in the background. However this picture gathered interest because the fans shown behind Shindong are holding same team member Yesung on their plan card. Shindong was only able to take a picture with not his fans but with another member’s fans.
Fans who have seen the picture have shown a hot response by leaving comments such as ‘Aren’t they all ELF (Super Junior fanclub)’ ‘These people in the picture are so lucky’ etc.

Lee Soo-man, chairman of top talent agency and record label SM Entertainment, firmly holds the title of the Korean entertainment scene’s richest stock investor, with his stock wealth amounting to more than 60 billion won ($51 million), data showed Wednesday.

According to chaebul.com, an online financial information provider, the former singer’s stockholding is valued at 61.7 billion won as of Aug. 10, increasing more than 200 percent this year.

Lee owns a 28.25 percent stake in SM Entertainment which he founded in 1995. Traded on the KOSDAQ, shares in the firm soared a whopping 186 percent this year from 4,750 won per share on Jan. 4 to 13,600 won on Aug. 10, after it reported a four-fold increase in overseas label sales and royalty income in the first quarter of this year.

SM Entertainment, who was run by Lee until February, has produced major performers like H.O.T, S.E.S and BoA and now represents groups such as Girls’ Generation and Super Junior.

Second-richest was TV and movie star Bae Yong-joon, a.k.a. Yonsama.

He holds a 34.6 percent stake in Keyeast Co., a celebrity management and visual contents maker listed on KOSDAQ. His stake is evaluated at 13.2 billion won, up 8.84 percent from early this year.

Singer Yang Soo-kyung, who is married to the former CEO of Yedang Entertainment, another talent agency, ranked third-richest in stocks among entertainers, holding shares in the firm worth 3 billion won.

Actress Kyun Mi-ri came in the fourth place, followed by singer BoA.

Asian superstar Rain, who took the third spot in the ranking early this year, did not make the list this time because he sold off his entire stake in J. Tune Entertainment in June.
