TBS is a major national broadcasting station in Japan. It’s Japan’s equivalent of Korea’s KBS, SBS or MBC. It’s quite an accomplishment for a Korean drama to be aired on a major network as most end up in cable channels.

Previously in November 2011, Japan’s cable channels DATV and KNTV both began broadcasting Protect the Boss simultaneously which is already an exceptional feat. TBS would be the third Japanese network to air this drama.

It has been decided for the DVD of drama which Ji Sung and JYJ’s Jaejoong star in, “Protect The Boss”, will be released for sale and rental.
★ Highly-anticipated milestone, Jaejoong’s first Korean drama!
Jaejoong, who has always been very popular as a K-pop artist, finally made his appearance in a Korean drama for the first time, following his appearances in the movie “Heaven’s Postman” and the Japanese TV drama “Sunao Ni Narenakute”. He effectively takes on the role of a cool male boss, who is good at what he does, and is highly trusted by the company!

★ A big break in Ji Sung’s acting, where he shows a different side of him!
Jisung, who starred in a series of hit dramas, including “Swallow The Sun” and “Royal Family”, plays the role of a willful, good-for-nothing son from a distinguished family, who fares poorly in his job. With his acting, Ji Sung brings to life the character of a good-for-nothing, a big break for him in Korea!!

★ Much interest in the cute competition between Jaejoong and Ji Sung!
Jaejoong, who plays the role of a competent cool-guy, and Ji Sung, who plays the role of a good-for-nothing son of a wealthy family, create much laughter when they act out comical and cute scenes where they physically fight over, the female protagonist, a newbie secretary. A romance-comedy that is both romantic and hilarious unfolds in the office and in the secretary’s office!!

★ First time in history! Simultaneously broadcast by two broadcasters in Japan!
A highest viewing rate of 20.5% was recorded in Korea! (The drama) became a topic of discussion when the broadcast was extended at the last-minute with 2 episodes added, and it was quickly decided for it to be broadcast in Japan! It became an exception, when DATV and KNTV both began broadcasting it simultaneously in November 2011!!

★ Luxury benefits included in each DVD-BOX!
Each DVD-BOX is bundled with a luxurious photobook and postcard set with Jaejoong and Ji Sung as the focus! In addition, in DVD-BOX II includes a special disc with NG clips will feature the honest sides of the cast, as well as other (related) programmes that were broadcast in Korea!!

“I think Ji Sung would make a good husband. I think Jaejoong became a star because he has the innate something in side of him.”
Choi Kanghee, who ahas successfully finished the SBS drama Protect the Boss last month, sent a round of applause to the actors with whom she collaborated.
Choi Kanghee said in an interview with Yonhap News recently about Ji Sung, who is her age and whom she collaborated with as her character’s lover: “I heard that his IQ is 147—and (fitting of that description) he seems extremely smart.”
She relayed: “I was able to collaborate very well with Ji Sung. He came having analyzed the ad libs beforehand and so he would be hilarious out of nowhere while acting—and those things also melted into the drama.” Continuing, she added: “Ji Sung has both a side that is mature and one that is like a kid. He is considerate and so I think he will make a good husband.”
On Kim Jaejoong, who is a rookie at acting and is of JYJ, she exclaimed in awe: “He is a rookie at acting, but he has this “something” that is innate in him. He has this “something” that is instinctive. He was not a star for no reason.”
Continuing, she added: “Jaejoong is extremely, extremely kindhearted. I was happy in acting with him.”
She also gave a thumbs-up for Park Youngkyu (playing CEO Cha), saying that he is “super cool.”
She expressed wonder, saying: “Park Youngkyu sunsaeng-nim is an elder but I did not feel any gap (in age) between us. He is very appealing and he has a great passion.”
She added: “I felt that he really is a young person and I thought that I too want to live that young when I am that age.”
She laughed: “Really Park Youngkyu sunsaeng-nim said so many great things throughout the filming. We told him to collect those words to publish a book.”

In SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Protect The Boss’ (scriptwriter: Kwon Ki Young, director: Son Jung Hyun), Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong played out the “The Battle of The Princes”.

On the 24th August broadcast of ‘Protect The Boss’ which had previously gathered a high viewer ratings of 20%, the two directors of DN group Ji Hyun (Ji Sung) and Mu Won (Kim Jaejoong) started a fight.

The filming was done on the 19th of August in a cafe at Paju. After few rounds of rehearsals and PD Son Jung Hyun called action, Ji Sung first kicked Kim Jaejoong and they broke out into a fight, with the two starting to clutch each other’s hair.

On the other hand, the two would lie down on the floor, observing the script and try to act out their best. After which, they would fight each other out as in real ‘war’. At that time, the passers-by outside the filming site, were asking the production crew, “Why are Ji Sung and Jaejoong fighting?”, expressing their concern and desire to protect them.

This fight scene between Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong goes on for the next 3 hours and Choi Kang Hee being at a loss with the two of them. Right after PD Son called it a cut, the two immediately laughed and asked each other if they are fine. The production crew applauded upon seeing these two caring for each other like a pair of real brothers.

The production team introduced, “The two fought due to their desire to acquire the successor’s position to the conglomerate and this resulted in the battle of the princes. The duo used this incident as a catalyst, to which the two expressed that they are going to hold on to it.”

The almost-real fight between Ji Sung and Kim Jaejoong in ‘Protect The Boss’ will be broadcasted on the 24th of August (Wednesday) at 9.55pm KST through SBS.
