Psy has been travelling all over the world, and the recent one was in Russia. It was his first time in Russia, so he didn't have any idea that he's also famous in that place until he saw the bunch of people on the photo above cheering for him.
He visited Russia to perform for the Muz-TV Music Awards, an annual award giving body that showcase Russian pop musicians since 2003.

A video of 'PSY at 'Cannes Film Festival' VIP ROOM' that was uploaded on May 23, has been garnering attention. It's not because of the international star himself but because of the shocking revelation that he is just an impersonator of PSY who managed to get in in the VIP room and had a drink with few celebrities.

On May 26, the identity of 'fake PSY' has been revealed. His name is Kim Jae Wan, born in Seoul but grew up in France after he got adopted when he was 3 years old.

In an interview conducted by SBS “8 o’clock news”, he said, "When I go to clubs I was told many times that I looked like PSY and I decided to impersonate him. PSY made a huge impact in my life even though I can't speak Korean well and I haven't been in the country. I would like to meet PSY in person."

Meanwhile, Psy had already created much headlines earlier on after the release of the news that he will be appearing on FOX TV’s ‘American Idol’ later this week where he will also perform “Gentleman”.

Psy will perform during the final round of ‘American Idol Season 12’ this week.

According to his agency, YG Entertainment, Psy will perform his new hit single “Gentleman” as a special guest on the American reality singing competition being aired on the evening of May 16 (local time).

Recently, Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong posted on his Instagram a photo of PSY with a caption and I quote, “This dude is the herpes of music. Once you think it’s gone, it comes back. #herpes #flareup #pleasegoaway”

It drew two opposing opinions from the netizens who were able to read the post. Some are for Psy and some are against him.
But the comment that will matter most is from Psy himself. He gave his reaction regarding the comparison between him and 'herpes' on his recent interview in FUSE.
At first, Psy didn't have the idea about 'herpes', but the kind host, Elaine Moran, elucidated that it was a disease that keeps on coming back.
Psy took the obvious insult lightly and said, “I should say something to him, what’s his name? I kind of like it. It’s cool! He’s saying I’m like herpes, that I keep coming back. I think it’s really cool. And I appreciate that. Thank you.”

Psy is in the US of A to promote his new track 'Gentleman'. However, he took a break from the promotion and set his foot at Harvard’s Memorial Church on May 9 and lectured in front of about 800 Harvard students, faculty and community members.
Psy's life before his fame was a life of 'WWF’ (his nickname during college)---Withdrawal, Withdrawal, and Fail. We all know that he studied and dropped out from his Management course at Boston University and pursued his first love--- music.
In the event, Psy shared his awkward experiences like his English language skills (before, he only knew 'taxi' and 'bus'), his failings as an undergraduate at Boston University and Madonna's touch-me-anywhere permission at Madison Square Gardens last year.
After the talk, the Harvard Arts Blog had an exclusive backstage interview with Psy. I will share Psy's one answer that caught my attention.
He was asked and I quote, "What advice do you have for Harvard students hoping to make music their life?"
He answered and I quote, "I really hate to regret, but honestly the only thing that I regret these days is that I tried too hard with Gentleman. There was a lot pressure after Gangnam Style. So what I can say to those who are making art, please do not try too hard. It’s got to be natural and it’s got to be casual."
Psy displayed that he was brave and honest enough to disclose his recent regret regarding 'Gentleman.' That would be hard to say knowing that many people will know it.

Psy’s new single “Gentleman” has been viewed more than 300 million times since it was released on YouTube last month. The music video is now number 26 on the all-time most watched list on YouTube.

The milestone was reached 26 days after its release and 17 days after the new video broke the 200 million mark on April 22. Psy is still keeping the first place of highest hit ever on YouTube with his mega hit single “Gangnam Style” and “Gentleman” seems to follow the track in shorter time.

The news is raising hopes that Psy may bounce back in the Billboard Hot 100 this week, after “Gentleman” plunged from No.5 to No.26 spot last week.

After revealing its official music video which already close to 300 million views, Psy finally released the making film for his successful “Gentleman” music video.

On May 9th, Psy released the making film through his official Youtube channel. The video shows various behind-the-scenes footage of pranks and hilarious acts on each scene. It also features special cameo appearances of ‘Infinity Challenge’ members and Ga In.
