The novel will be written by a new writer, Kang Yi-eul, and will include many of the drama’s most recognizable bits of dialogue as written by scriptwriter Kim Eun-sook. An example: “Is this your best? Are you sure?” which is the icy comment Joo-won always levels at his staff, which intimidates them and asserts his position as alpha dog. As though his position as CEO and his general hauteur weren’t enough to cow them into submission.

In the photo comic book, memorable scenes will be captured in stills and arranged, comic book style, to tell a story. Since all of its material will be taken from the drama proper, the story won’t be new, so I suppose it works more as a collector’s item for drama fans. It’ll be published in two volumes. The actual (soonjung) comic book, in contrast, will diverge from the drama’s established storyline to include new plotlines for the characters.

The novel became available for preorders this week, and preorders open up for the first of the two photo books next week. The manhwa collection plans to go up for preorders in January.

Secret Garden sem to be a really famous drama, lots of stars are following the actor's scenes and making a parody of it and even CFs!

IU and Kim Tae Woo did it, Big Bang did it, Ha Ji Won and Psy did it,

and now...
‘Music Bank‘ MC Kim Min Ji and Won Bin!

Teaming up for a cellular service ad, Kim Min Ji and Won Bin parodied the famous sit-up scene from “Secret Garden“.

Interestingly enough, the young actress revealed herself to be a passionate Won Bin fan. “I was a fan of Won Bin’s for a long time, and I felt very happy and shocked that I got to meet him in a CF. I truly felt like ‘Gil Ra-Im’ while filming this parody scene, and my heart fluttered the entire time. He treated me very well, I will never forget this“.

Netizens commented, “Won Bin’s Gil Ra-Im…I’m jealous“, “The couple has different charms then Hyun Bin and Ha Ji Won“, and “If the Ha Ji Won and Psy couple are comical, then this couple is sweet“.

Check out the CF below!

Actor Hyun Bin has reached new heights in popularity following his role in SBS drama “Secret Garden.” Playing the role of a second generation chaebol (or heir to a giant conglomerate), Hyun Bin perfectly portrayed the cynical yet lovely Kim Joo Won character, quieting many critics who had reservations about his acting skills. But not many people realize that that role initially was supposed to go to actor Jang Hyuk. The production crew of “Secret Garden” planned on casting Jang Hyuk for Joo Won’s character until his management agency declined the offer, and many fans have been wondering if there were any hard feelings about missing out on a grand opportunity for Jang Hyuk.

“’Secret Garden’ was such a great show and I’m glad that Hyun Bin’s become a better quality actor through this drama. But instead of thinking about ‘missed opportunities,’ I’m more focused on fully playing my current character in ‘Midas,’” Jang Hyuk said today at the press conference of SBS’s new drama “Midas,” regarding his missed chance in “Secret Garden.”

This is pretty interesting because Jang Hyuk was also originally cast for Kam Woo Sung’s role in the movie “The King and the Clown.” At the time he had to serve the military and had no choice but to decline the offer, which would have given him the leading role for a movie that brought in more than 10 million people. It seems like any role that Jang Hyuk declines go on to become a mega hit, but at least there aren’t too many hard feelings—at least on his end!

Despite ending its broadcast in South Korea last weekend, ‘Secret Garden’ continues to generate buzz after confirmatory reports has reached other countries.

SBS Contents Hub confirmed last Thursday, that they have approved rights for broadcast on thirteen countries with a combined price of US$3.5 million. ‘Secret Garden’ along with the rest of Asia is now approved to be air in Japan, China and Thailand.

It has also signed on with a U.S. website which will offer the series as video-on-demand. The media hub also sent a statement saying : “We expect more profits once exports of merchandise such as dolls, comics and diaries begin sooner or later,” an SBS Contents Hub spokesperson said. “The Japanese terrestrial channel that will broadcast the series expects the same blockbuster success as ‘Winter Sonata’ there.” More on, plans of converting the drama to a local musical is also being thought of and discussed.

Secret Garden ends its 20-episode run this weekend, but it’ll have another week on the broadcast schedule, as it has announced a special to air the following week.

It’ll be a standard special, with a highlight reel, behind-the-scenes tidbits, and NG clips, and has a 70-minute running time. As the cast is still busily shooting the finale (eep), it’s not yet known which of the actors will be available to participate, but I suspect that if the main actors aren’t present there’ll be a fan uproar; Secret Garden isn’t Secret Gardenwithout Hyun Bin. (I’d go so far as to say the drama would’ve tired a lot sooner without him.)

This appears to be a way to pad out the schedule with the Asia Cup taking place that weekend. The special broadcast is currently scheduled to air on Saturday, January 22, but should the Korean team win the group stage and advance to the quarterfinals, they’ll play that night and the Secret Garden broadcast will be pushed to Sunday.

The drama to follow, New Gisaeng Story, was originally scheduled to premiere on the 22nd. However, it is now scheduled to air its first two episodes on the 23rd, unless an Asia Cup win pushes that to the following week.
