After making a splash with its record-breaking comeback album ‘I Got A Boy’, Girls’ Generation has been drawing attention not only in Korea but in international market as well, receiving high compliments from foreign presses.

Girls’ Generation released their new album ‘I Got A Boy’ on January 1st, and a number of presses in the US, including MTV, Billboard and Popdust, highly complimented their new album.

Billboard reported a review titled “Girls’ Generation, ‘I Got A Boy’: Track-By-Track Review”, which said, “It is a high-quality album that is composed of progressive EDM (electronic dance music), classic modern R&B, and new wave sound of 1980s. The album will satisfy a great number of popular music fans.”

It also praised the group’s title song as “one of the most-forward thinking lead pop singles heard in any country” and that “with this title track, Girls’ Generation just set the bar truly high for pop in 2013.”

MTV also mentioned that “the entire thing is a fashion whirlwind so jam-packed with rad clothes (many of which are available to score yourselves), it’s pretty much impossible to watch it just once,” while Popdust reported, “Girls’ Generation received the title of the most innovative group.”

MTV also gave props to Psy and his worldwide hit, “Gangnam Style.”

On December 18th, MTV’s Web site picked the Korean rapper’s “Gangnam Style” as the “Viral Sensation of the Year”.

According to MTV, “Taylor Swift sold w-a-a-y more records, One Direction stirred millions of first-crush flushes and labelmate Justin Bieber put tens of thousands of butts in seats every night of his tour, but in 2012, Psy had what none of them did: a-once-in-a-decade hit that can’t be replicated.”

The song “inspired more parodies than Clint Eastwood at the [Republican National Convention] and, oh yeah, racked up nearly 1 billion views on YouTube,” the music channel added, referring to how Psy set a new record on the world’s leading video-sharing site.

Fresh off of his first solo album JYJ’s Xia Junsu shows off a daring and darker side in “Tarantallegra.” Talk about one hell of a way to bust out on his own….
Debuting with a side of JYJ we haven’t seen before, this is a bold step for Junsu. We’re guessing his flair for the macabre came from his time as Death in Elisabeth. Junsu’s androgynous sexuality (that was him in the wig wasn’t it?) is both in-your-face and unapologetic. And while we’re not really sure where Junsu was going with all of this, we liked how he got there. This fiercely sexy video shows that C-Jes Entertainment has a few things to say about Junsu’s well known “angel” image. Where Jeri Slaughter’s choreography shows a bolder, sexier Junsu not seen since his “Intoxication” days (the Korean version of “Intoxication”on the album notwithstanding), Aziatix member Flowsik’s rap blends with his lyrical finesse. Lilting electronic vocals mixed with a dark cello, coupled with a mix of interracial back-up dancers, show’s C-Jes’ obvious nod toward international audiences. As if the word “Tarantallegra,” Harry Potter‘s i.e. dancing curse, wasn’t international enough.
We’re interested if South Korea is ready to handle Junsu’s ambitious debut. We’re also interested in what you think, so check out the video and leave your comments below.

BIGBANG STYLE

Their musical career began in 2006 and continues to rise,  BIGBANG have grown and evolved musically, changing different looks and styles.
They arrived on the scene wearing ripped jeans, bandanas and hats, but  today show a glamorous look that has won fans around the world.

During these five years the boys have worn everything from jeans to sweatshirts, baggy rapper-inspired urban clothing , with high-impact graphics.

Which look do you prefer? The complete total white sported in 2007, or the ' Lady Gaga 'inspired look in February, complete with oxygen masks and shirts with prints of palm trees, that remind you of summer?

Admittedly, G-Dragon, TOP, Taeyang, Seungri and Daesung can wear each outfit maintaining an undeniable charm!

We cannot  choose our favorite look and wait for the TRL AWARDS !
I wonder if this evolution / revolution will allow BIG BANG to win the category BEST FAN ...

What is the MTV Music Meter?
The MTV Music Meter is a music discovery experience. Our front door is a daily list of the top 100 artists trending right now.

How is the ranking determined?
The ranking is determined by the real time buzz across the Internet. We look at tweets and other social mentions, blog posts, news articles, streams, and purchases for over one million artists. Then every day we show you the top 100 artists that are trending upwards in these categories.

What can I do on the MTV Music Meter?
We provide access to over one million artists. The Top 100 is a great starting point – click on any “artist card” to get a quick snapshot of a particular artist. If you like the artist, share them, favorite them for quick access later on the same browser, or hit the “similar” button to get the same discovery experience for more artists you’ll like.

You can also search for any of over one million artists. This is great for getting a snapshot of a band you just heard of but want to know more about, or for finding similar artists to bands you already know you love.

Girls’ Generation continues to be popular on MTV News. More footage from their interview while in New York has been uploaded along with new articles by Christina Garibaldi, the correspondent who interviewed them.
In the latest article, the girls talk about five things that new fans should know about them. They talk about their “impeccable choreography” and the fact that they are a multi-lingual group. Also, Tiffany boasts about their teamwork since there are nine girls in one group, saying “Our teamwork is more amazing than our choreography. Beat that!” Sooyoung even shows off her English skills when she says their “choreography is well structured.”
In a previous article, Christina sat down with an MTV Style blogger to talk about what they like about Girls’ Generation. Of course, they rave about how pretty the girls are, but also about their catchy music. Also, in this particular segment, Girls’ Generation sets their sights on the world stage by declaring their desire for a world tour. As Tiffany says, “Be careful, world, we’re on the way!”
