Recently, on one online community’s discussion board, the topic of “male celebrities who are prettier than females” started with pictures of male idol members’ photos dressed as a female being posted on the discussion board.

Actor and singer Jang Keun-suk has added another achievement to his ever growing portfolio, this time as a chef extraordinaire.

Jang will release a cookbook entitled “Jang Keun Suk Love Recipe,” which will go on sale from Sunday in Japan.

In the book are 20 recipes of Jang’s favorite meals to cook for friends, family members and even that special someone.

Each dish is said to have a personal touch added by the Hallyu prince himself. Jang’s favorite meals to eat such as kimchi jjigae (soup), seasoned raw crab and gujeolpan (platter of nine delicacies) are included.

The book is sold with a DVD that captures moments from behind the scenes where Jang personally took to preparing the dishes himself.

In addition to cooking up a storm, Jang has been busy of late dominating the Oricon chart in Japan.

On May 30, he released his first solo debut album, which reached the No. 1 spot on the Oricon Daily Singles Chart.

“Love Rain” fell again.

According to AGB Nielsen Media Research on April 23rd, KBS 2TV drama “Love Rain” rated 5.2%. This is 1.2% lower than the previous days episode.

“Love Rain” started the romance between the 2012 Jang Geun Seok and YoonA since last week and the percentage seemed to be going up but fell to 5% once again.

Jang Geun Seok and YoonA started living together somehow and kissed 3 times to add rapidness to the romance but still the viewing percentage fell.

Meanwhile, SBS “Fashion King” rated 9.8% and MBC “Lights and Shadows” rated 21.7%.

Hallyu actor Jang Keun-suk’s name has been used in an investment scheme by a producer who desperately needed money to prop up his ailing business.

According to the Seoul Central District Court on Friday, the producer surnamed Park told an investor that he was collecting money for a DVD project that would feature Jang and promised the investor a 30 percent share of the profits. He then collected 150 million won ($131,700) from his victim.

In addition to the investment, Park fooled the victim into giving money that would supposedly be used to buy birthday presents for Jang and his mother, the court said.

Yet contrary to what the investor thought, the police found that Park had not signed any contract with Jang’s agency to produce a DVD and that Jang had no knowledge of the project. The investor is now suing Park for the amount he gave.

Jang’s music has topped the Oricon charts and he has stared in popular dramas. Recently, he was nicknamed the “Prince of Coffee” after winning a Caffe Bene endorsement deal.

Jang Geun-seok has become the new face of the Korean coffee franchise Café Bene.

He has recently signed a model contract with the company.

Café Bene officials say, "Jang Geun-seok's soft smile and young image is just right for the image Café Bene seeks. We hope the image of the college student who loves coffee will blend in well to create a synergy effect".

Jang Geun-seok will co-model with existing Café Bene model Han Ye-seul and the two have recently shot an ad for newspapers.

Jang Geun-seok is currently taking on two roles in the KBS 2TV drama "Love Rain". Hallyu star Jang Geun Suk will attend a fan meeting for his film “You Are My Pet” on Feb. 11 at Kyocera Dome in Osaka.

The film opened in Japan on Jan. 21 and in just two days of showing reached the sixth spot on the Japanese weekly movie chart.

Jang’s co-stars Kim Ha-neul, Ryu Tae-joon, Jung Yu-mi and Kang Ha-neul will also attend the event. The fan meet will comprise of dancing and singing performances by the stars as well as a talking forum with the fans. The event will also be broadcast live and shown in Toho Cinemas across Japan.

Ahead of the film’s release Jang and Kim spent five nights and six days travelling to Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka and surrounding parts, holding interviews and promoting their movie.

“You are My Pet is based on the Japanese manga “Kimi wa Pet” (“Tramps Like Us,” 2000-05) by Yayoi Ogawa. The story of the movie is about a bizarre relationship between an ambitious career woman and a young homeless man, whose animal-like charm leads her to adopt him as a pet.

Released in Korea in November, the movie was directed by Kim Byeong-kon, who was involved in producing previous romantic comedy “My Boyfriend is Type-B” (2005).

Reports on some of the most successful stars living in the most expensive homes have been revealed in the past. Legendary singer Cho Young-nam has been rumored to be at the top of the list with a villa worth $5.2 million. However, what about the younger generation of idol stars?

No surprise on who boasted the highest price tag on his home: Jang Geun-seok. He's currently one of the hottest Korean entertainment names in Korea and in Japan. He reportedly earned $35.5 million in 2011 along, much of that stemming from his hit drama "You're Beautiful". According to Japanese media, Jang earns about $800,000 per commercial and is likely able to earn up to $90,000 a day from just souvenir purchases.

He lives in a villa in Seoul worth about $3.5 million. He had moved in last October, now enjoying such amenities like a family-sized movie theatre and cafe. He also rubs shoulders with neighbors Lee Hae-young and Suh Ji-young.

As if that wasn't enough, Jang also owns an $8.8 million building that used to belong to comedian Seo Sae-won and his wife Seo Jung-hee.
Next on the list was triple threat, actor, singer, and MC Lee Seung-gi. Lee reportedly lives in the "Brownstone Legend" building located in Seoul, worth $3.1 million. The complex includes perks of a fitness center, golf range, event venue, Audio Video theatre room, and more.

Lee has worked hard for the sum of $4.4 million from endorsements alone in 2010. He has 11 commercial deals under his belt to date, having earned $7.1 millon from just them until now.

Big Bang's TOP was third, living in a $2.6 million villa, which he bought last year. The charismatic rapper and actor lives in the same neighborhood as actor Jung Jun-ho and singer Lee Hyori. The villa is famous for being a "honeymoon" home. TOP's unit consists of 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with some of the finest interior overlooking the Han River.

Following on the list was singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong. He lives in a European-style villa worth about $1.7 to $2.6 million, in the very posh neighborhood of Cheongdam-dong. His home even has a garden located just outside, surrounded by a number of parks.

Kim made the big ticket purchase after his success with concerts, album sales, advertisements, etc. in Japan. He earned $3.5 million after the megahit drama "Boys Before Flowers" aired on TV. He was then offered a number of commercial deals. He even has an official character U:ZOOSIN, which sold over 50,000 units, raking in a profit of $1.7 million.

A bread product under the actor Jang Geun Suk's name has been produced in Japan.

On January 17th, Tree J Company stated that Japanese convenience store franchise Lawson has launched a bread product using Jang Geun Suk's name as the brand.

Last year, Jang Geun Suk had signed with Lawson Frau International and Tree-J Company to become Lawson’s product ambassador. As a result, his face is on two types of bread produced by Lawsons.

The product comes in two flavors, mocha coffee melon and bulgogi, while the actor's name and photo are on the wrapping.

The release of the product under his name comes as no surprise since he has been one of the most popular Korean celebrities in Japan. A representative stated, "Jang Geun Suk is extremely popular among Japanese females, and we chose him to endorse our product because female consumers are our target market."

Actor Jang Geun-seok won first place in the Idol Image category at the Japanese "2011 Yearly Video Ranking".

According to Japanese ranking chart Oricon, Jang Geun-seok was in first place, selling 24,000 copies of his first official picture collection and DVD set "The Romance J Plus Photograph Collection Limited", released in July.

This is the first time in five years, after kwon Sang-woo, for a Korean star to take first place. The idol image category Jang Geun-seok ranked first in is usually filled by actresses or idols and it is unusual for a male star to finish first. According to a TV broadcast on December 19th, a list of Korea's top richest 1% celebrity land owners was revealed for the year 2011. Jang was the youngest of them all at 24 years of age.

A real estate expert said on the show, "Jang bought a building worth about 14 billion won (about $12 million)."
