YG Family met up with Hollywood actor Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith at the YG headquarters located in Hapjeong on May 6th.

2NE1’s CL shared two proof shots with the Smith family on her instagram. The photos show Will Smith and Jaden Smith with CL herself, Big Bang’s G-Dragon, Taeyang, T.O.P, boss Yang Hyun Suk, Teddy and Choice37.

Will Smith and Jaden Smith are currently in South Korea to attend the red carpet event for their upcoming film ‘After Earth’ on May 7.

Many songs of the YG artists are produced by this talented producer, Teddy, ranging from Taeyang’s ‘Only look at me', Uhm Jeong Hwa's 'Disco’, BIGBANG’s ‘Sunset Glow’ to the hit songs of Big Bang and 2NE1.

Recently, Money Today of Star News has met Teddy, the producer who is so active in the music industry nowadays to talk about his future activities and plans, together with how he thinks about the charisma that Big Bang and 2NE1 possess.

According to him, the growing process of Big Bang and 2NE1 is just like how a gem is formed- they have also been polished for a long period of time. He said the members of Big Bang are gifted with talent but they also work hard and the members of 2NE1 have potential as well as talent, too. He praised the girls highly.

First and foremost, he spoke highly of G- Dragon, Teddy said, ‘ I have known G-Dragon ever since we were young but he is really like a talented friend to me,’ he continued, 'music and fashion, he never treats them carelessly. His feelings keep on enriching his music as time goes by. His music grows with the efforts which he has put in.’

He praised Taeyang next, ‘Taeyang is also the same. Recently, at nights, after finishing his schedule, although he is already tired, he will still go to the recording room. For these days, I have to compose songs in the studio busily, I know how tired it is after working for a day.’

Teddy’s producer career will be accumulated to 12 years this year. He also praised 2EN1 highly according to his experience, '4 singers who can really sing songs well,’ he continued, ‘ for 2NE1, they are like a paper, no matter what you draw on them, they can certainly show you what you want. All of these 4 can sing really well and they have rich expressive ability, too.’

Currently, Teddy is working with Will.i.am, the leader of the world-class hip hop group, Black Eyed Peas and others. It is not surprising that his domestic activities together with his overseas' have attracted much attention. Domestically speaking, he has participated in the recent GD & TOP's hip hop album and all the albums of 2NE1, all of these works have consolidated his position as a producer.

Q: How did the song 'DON'T CRY' come to be?

A: My style of working on music starts with using a chord combination as the foundation and then expanding that by creating a melody that fits in best with it, then writing lyrics that works fittingly. But this time, a friend named LYDIA PAEK who I had worked with together for this song had already created a base chord and melody. Using this, I fit in some additional melodies, lyrics, arrangement, and other processes of production, and this song was born.

At first we tried to go with a slow-tempo song, but we tried to give it a different feel with a faster beat that clashes with the song's mood. Through this screening we are able to show both styles by introducing the slow-tempo version in the show.

Q: When listening to the lyrics of 'DON'T CRY' it seems like the loved one moved on to the next life, and it also seems like the two lovers have parted ways, but what is it exactly about?

A: The lyrics are not about the lover that has passed away, but instead I wanted to portray a song about lovers parting ways in a beautiful way. Should I say it's sort of a strange farewell song? The two loved each other and tried so hard but they feel sad as they watch each other slowly changing, and eventually letting each other go.

Q: How is 2NE1's new album coming along?

A: You can say that the singles to come are about 90% completed. The framework for the album is done, and all that's left is working on the details.

Q: The first hidden story behind 'DON'T CRY' - The guitarist in the screening is?

A: Suh Won Jin, who used to perform as guitarist for Rumble Fish. His relationship with YG through Kush's introduction started with GD&TOP's 'Baby Goodnight', 'Oh Mom', and participated in arrangements recently for Big Bang's 'LOVE SONG', and also worked together for the live version of Park Bom's 'DON'T CRY.'

Q: The second hidden story behind 'DON'T CRY' - Who is the person who co-produced 'DON'T CRY' with TEDDY, LYDIA PAEK?

A: While Teddy was in the US meeting and working with international producers and songwriters, he met her through Shaun Evaristo, with whom he already had been acquainted with, who introduced her saying that there was someone with an outstanding singing talent among his peers in the industry. Taeyang, who left to America on last January 8th in order to receive further dance training, has come out in an American fashion video and the korean fans are all excited for it. He appeared on the video with 1TYM's member and YG Entertainment's producer Teddy.

The source of this video is from Vimeo, titled 'Breezy art...Style', uploaded last January 17th at 8.31PM KST. America's famous singer Chris Brown is doing the narration in Taeyang and Teddy's part, and he talks about their fashion sense.

The duration of that video is about 3 min and 34 seconds. Taeyang and Teddy came out with refined looks, wearing black jackets. They're acting playful towards the camera and even did the 'V' pose. Taeyang wears sunglasses and with his mohawk hair and his unshaved face, making his looks really manly.

Chris Brown said in that video, "People just want to be like these artists on TV, and those famous people should be their role model. An Idol is not only doing music but they also have to be an entertainer."

Furthermore there are famous American singers like Pharrell and Big Sean, and Swizz Beatz that is also known as singer Alicia Keys' husband also make their appearance in this video, giving people more surprises.

The foreigners who watched this video are leaving good responses like "I love everyone's style in this video" and "Great webisode". Korean netizens are excited because Taeyang and Teddy are making their appearance in famous American musicians video. Netizens said, "Taeyang and Teddy's style are unique" and, "Although they stand between foreigners their pose is really standing out"

On the other hand, there are rumours going on around the korean fans saying that "isn't Taeyang really preparing his American debut there" and so on. But YG Entertainment representative said, "It's not because personal reasons, he stays there for two weeks to have dance lessons."

“On the 8th, Big Bang’s Taeyang left for America through Incheon Airport. He will be staying there for around two weeks.”
With Big Bang’s comeback scheduled for February, why did Taeyang suddenly take a trip to America?
“It wasn’t a personal reason, but it was for him to receive dance lessons. In order to show an upgraded performance, he went to meet with famous choreographers.
The members are having a short rest before their upcoming album release, but Taeyang volunteered to receive dancing lessons instead. His eagerness is outstanding.”
With the increasing anticipation from fans and music industry associates alike, it was reported that the members are throwing in as much passion and dedication as they can into their album preparations. G-Dragon told OSEN in a recent interview:
“As much as the fans have been waiting, we will come out with a lot prepared and give them great songs. We’ll completely fill the album with good songs and show songs that express our various tastes and personalities.”
T.O.P also expressed:
“Aren’t people saying that these days, the popular music industry is a generation of three week albums? On a recent episode of BigbangTV on Mnet, G-Dragon was seen in the recording studio with YG CEO and Teddy. It has been revealed that the group is currently preparing for their Korean comeback with G-Dragon hinting that they have already chosen 18 possible tracks for the release. The only problem is they need to get BIGBANG together first and wait for the rest of the members (who had individual activities + Chuseok holidays) to return.

Furthermore, YG President Yang Hyunseok also speaks out on why they didn’t rush BIGBANG’s comeback saying "Jiyong has been producing a lot of songs. Many fans are complaining why they don’t come out. Everyone in BIGBANG thinks that it doesn’t matter when it drops. What matters most is “HOW” it is going to be dropped."
