SHINee's Onew is cast in JTBC's new sitcom.

SHINee's leader Onew's acting skills have been proven through dramas and musicals. Onew will be showing his acting skills once again as he is confirmed to be cast in JTBC's 'Sitcon Royal Villa'. He usually shows bubbly and chic image but in the upcoming sitcom, he will show a manlier image. Onew's role is a must watch as he will display a new side of him. 

Sitcon Royal Villa's first episode will be recorded on the 13th while the broadcast will be in the second week of July.

Wow~! Only 4 days left for April!! I am not even aware of….it. I do really feel time flies too fast these days!

SHINee's Onew eating pose has become a hot topic

SHINee' Onew, Jonghyun, Taemin, Key recently went to recording MBC's 'Weekly Idol', and a few photos from the recording were revealed, especially Onew' photos have attracted much attention.

In those photos, he's seen eating fried chicken in the studio. In particular there's this one photo, while the other were talking with Hyungdon and Defcon, Onew seemed to only concern about eating. He was even kneeling in front of the table, one hand was grabbing the chicken leg and passionate eating with his mouth wide opened, made the whole picture was like from a comedic scene.

Netizen commented,"He's really a chicken maniac","Look at him eating makes me want to eat chicken too","Onew's so funny", and so on.

Currently creating stir with middle finger incident and dating rumor, SHINee’s Onew is caught up in yet another controversy and this time, for smoking electronic cigarette.

A press recently reported about Onew and After School Jung Ah’s dating scandal, and showed photos of them together taken in Apgujeong-dong. One of the photos caught the attention of the netizens which showed Onew puffing on an electronic cigarette.

The photo has been a shock to the public and met with mixed reactions. Some netizens have been defending Onew by saying, “He’s an adult and he wasn’t on broadcast ”, “I was surprised, but I can understand” and more.

However, a number of other netizens commented, “I liked him because of his youthful image”, “He’s in a deep trouble” and “He needs to take care of his image.”

 SHINee's Onew is really getting all the spotlight lately.

Earlier today Kukinews released 2 articles in which they revealed that SHINee's Onew and Afterschool's Jungah are in a relationship.Not just by words they also came with proof photos of the two idols.


 On 21st, around 9pm,they were spotted going into a restaurant in Apgujeong together. They spent about 1 hour there.

The article said that the two have been dating each other for 1 year, and despite their busy schedules, they often meet  and go out together.

And when both SME and Pledis Entertainment were asked about the issue, both the companies denied it and said Onew and Jungah are just really close friends, and they have had meals often since long ago so they were all surprised over the sudden news whether they're having an affair or not.

Meanwhile, SHINee is about to conclude their Dream Girl promotion while Afterschool is preparing for their comeback.

Onew was one of the guests in MBC Radio’s Star Shining Night. It is a radio program simultaneously broadcasted over the Internet. Unfortunately, Onew made a middle finger which was seen by the viewers. 
After that unfortunate event, SM entertainment, the agency managing SHINee, stepped up and made an official public apology on March 19. They explained, “Onew was playing around with the other group members as they waited to appear on a radio program when he did that. It was unintentional. It didn't mean to offend or disrespect others. But he is now deeply regretting his mistake."

SHINee's Onew "middle finger" controversy hasn't ended yet and now he's involved in another one.

The first controversy happened on March 18th, and it was during Younha's "Starry Night" radio when Onew was spotted flicking before the streaming started. It has become a hot topic and received mix reactions from netizens. SM later released a statement that Onew was just joking around with his member and he didn't know that it was captured on screen, he was deeply self-reflecting and promised that it won't happen in the future.

But later today another controversy was spreading. It was three days before the first incident happened, when SHINee was at Incheon airport to Thailand for 'MBC Korean Music Wave in Bangkok', and the thing that captured netizen was Onew's hat. It was the hat with the caption 'WELCOME MOTHERF ★ CKER", and netizesn realized that it was the same hat Girl' Generation Sunny and Seohyun wore in 'I Got A Boy' MV.

There have been many reactions towards the issue this time from netizens,"This hat causes so much trouble","It seems that SM artists love this hat","No one talked when he wore it. just because of the previous incident now they're digging it up","There are many idols who have worn clothes that have sensitive stuff why Onew is the only one who get all the bashful comments"

SHINee’s Onew is currently under fire for giving the middle finger during a radio broadcast.

On March 18, SHINee members appeared on MBC radio program ‘Younha’s Starry Night’. Before the broadcast began, Onew was spotted on the screen giving the middle finger to the other SHINee members. Although it was merely a joke, his gesture met with mixed reactions from the public.

With the heated attention of netizens, SM Entertainment has responded to issue. A representative stated, “Before the broadcast began, the members were fooling around and the problematic scene was captured on camera. Onew is very apologetic and promises he will not repeat it again.”

An online community recently uploaded a few photos of them with the title,"Onew-Lee Won Geun resemble each other". 

People commented on the photos,"They really look alike","Lee Won Geun is like Onew's long lost brother","Both are handsome","Onew's cuter eventhough he's older", and so on.

Meanwhile, Lee Won Geun is currently starring in KBS2's daily drama "Pure Love", Onew is still busy promoting ""Dream Girl" along with his group members.

SHINee's Onew cried on KBS Geurilla Date?

In the broadcast of KBS's "Entertainment Weekly", SHINee made an appearance in "Geurilla Date" segment of the show.

After meeting and playing with fans on the street, they went indoor and had an interview there. There's a part when they used a lie detector to find out about SHINee's true thought. When Onew was asked if he ranked low in terms of appearance in SHINee, he answered with yes and it turned out that he said the truth, which immediately gained applause from SHINee members.

Then the members took revenge by asking the MC to try the lie detector too, he was asked if he thought Shin Hyeon Ju's nose was big(he's known for his big nose), he answered no then he got a sudden shock from the detector that caused him to throw it away. Upon seeing this, Onew couldn't hold on his laughter and he cried to tears, he couldn't even do the proper greeting at the end with other members.

In a recent photoshoot for star1 magazine, Super Junior's Ryeowook revealed that his dream for 2013 is to create a 'Ryeo-Line'. A group which he can lead on. In addition to that, he also named few 'potential' members that he wanted to recruit. They are ZE:A's Hyungsik, Infinite's Sung gyu, EXO members and even SHINee's Onew. The criteria of his members must be nice and can sing well.

In addition to that, he also stated that he wanted his 'Ryeo-Line' to compete with fellow member Kyuhyun's 'Kyu-Line' that has TVXQ's Changmin, SHINee's Minho, CNBLUE's Jonghyun and Siwon.

Ryeowook explained that his desire to create 'Ryeo-Line'is that he wanted to be called 'hyung', since SJ members treat him as the youngest (Kyuhyun actually is the youngest) and he doesn't have any siblings. He expressed that whenever someone calls him 'hyung', he feels delighted.

SHINee's Onew revealed a photo of him with his mother for the first time.

On February 21st, Onew uploaded a photo on his twitter with a long tweet,"My mother is round". The photo was taken after SHINee's Dream Girl showcase that was happened on 20th, it seems that his mother also went to the showcase.

Onew's seen wearing a green jacket in the photo,showing a bright smile towards the camera, the woman standing behind him was his mother. 

Upon seeing the photo, people commented,"Finally you uploaded a selca","Like mother like son","Both are cute","His mother must be really proud of him",and so on.

In addition, SHINee released their 3rd full album "The misconception of you" on February 20th, and they will have their 1st comeback stage on M!COUNTDOWN on 21st.

SHINee members held 'SHINee's Music Spoiler' at the Gangnam Olympus Hall ahead of the release of their 3rd album. They talked about their album and even performed some of their tracks which will be released on February 20. In addition, they also answered some questions from fans which were written in a piece of paper.

Onew's question was, 'who is the most handsome member in the group?'. Onew laughed and revealed, "The least handsome would be Minho. He's too good compared to me so I chose him as last. The second least handsome would be me. I'll try to be like Minho." Jonghyun got third. Taemin, second and Key got first. When Key asked why, Onew laughed and responded, "No reason at all". At the end, Onew added, "Why not switch the most handsome with the least handsome?"

Super Junior's Ryeowook and Sungmin who are the hosts of KBS's Kiss The Radio (Sukira) will be replaced temporarily by SHINee's leader Onew and CSJH The Grace's Dana from the 13th of February to 17th.

Kiss The Radio (Sukira) will be still broadcast from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM KST.

SHINee is set to return to the local music scene with their much-awaited third album! After releasing Key, Taemin, Jonghyun and Minho’s teasers, a new set of teasers has been unveiled featuring member, Onew.

The group will release their new album through iTunes and various Korean music sites on February 19th featuring the title track, “Dream Girl”. The song is a rhythmic dance number and that the group is preparing a new original performance totally different from last year’s hit “Sherlock”.

Another victim of Onew's ttakbam?

KBS TV announcer, Han Suk Joon uploaded a photo of his forehead after being ttakbam by Onew, he tweeted,"I got ttakbam from SHINee's Onew. Really strong. It's been a  few hours but even now......"

Onew appeared as guest in the latest episode of KBS Quiz show "1 vs 100" . He once again showcased his strong ttakbam skill and left everyone who had or hadn't seen it amazed over his powerful fingers.This episode will be aired in February.

LEATHER - Leather jackets create a sense of playfulness through the effect of their colors.

Onew and Minho made appearances for the third volume. These two are the dependable members who lead SHINee together. What is the heartwarming episode that they share?

Even in leather, girls who give out a tender feeling are lovely.
Onew: We wore leather at today's photoshoot. Usually, I don't wear leather often so I don't own any, but I'm thinking about trying it out from now on.
Minho: I wear it often once winter comes. So I don't feel like it's tight or anything. When I wear leather, I pay attention to the shoes or pants since I don't want to be too flashy. Wearing gaudy shoes and pants together with leather makes me end up feeling like I look standoffish.
Onew: Since you usually dress like this, you're particular about it. I wear it for photoshoots and on stage, but I think I'm a bit reluctant to make it part of my casual wear. Even so, I'm leaning towards leather lately.
Minho: Which style would you like to try?
Onew: I prefer simple styles. Also warm and flexible clothes. The number one requirement when I pick out clothes myself is whether the clothes are flexible. That's why I want clothes that are comfortable.
Minho: Since leather is a tough material, girls look really strong wearing it, dont they? So I think girls who can coordinate leather into their outfit to make it look tender are lovely.
Onew: Definitely. I think it'd be cute if they wear feminine dresses and hang the tough leather over their shoulders.[/size][/size]

We are similar in hating to lose.
Minho: It's only natural. We're like real brothers, aren't we?
Onew: That being said, I'm the older one and yet I feel like there are a lot of times where you're the one who looks after me... (laughs)
Minho: Nah, you make up for my shortcomings all the time. You've always been doing that for me, you know? We were in charge of being MCs for a music show in Korea, right? Didn't we help each other out a lot that time?
Onew: That's right. We talked about a lot of things and made the program lively. The two of us really tried hard. We are similar in hating to lose, right? There will rarely be times when my competitive side emerges, but you are always concerned with competing and don't compromise. I think that's what makes you manly and cool. But there are times when I also think, "Isn't he being too passionate?" (laughs). I want to go along with that side of yours. In the end, we're probably just the same.
Minho: Maybe. I think the part that I'm still lacking in is your funny side.
Onew: I'm a comedian after all (laughs).
Minho: Hahaha (laughs). There is a wild side to you, but then you'd suddenly become serious. I guess it is your earthly charm to have different sides like that.
Onew: You're making me embarrassed here... If you're talking about that, then I must say I'm still far from being as considerate as you are. Thank you for covering me with the blanket the other day. You thought that I was sleeping back when you did that, didn't you?
Minho: Yeah. So you weren't sleeping then?
Onew: Actually, I wasn't. I pretended to be asleep so that when you got closer, I'd open my eyes and surprise you, but then you covered me with the blanket. I was so touched by your kindness that I couldn't even trick you (laughs). I thought that you are a really kind person.
Minho: It's not like I intentionally went to you just to put the blanket on. I got back late that day and was thinking to myself, "I wonder what Onew is doing right now?" so I went to see what you were doing. I saw you sleeping with thin clothes on and I thought that if I let you sleep like that then you might catch a cold. It was very chilly that day after all.
Onew: You are always concerned about other members like that, huh?
Minho: Yup. Somehow, I'm just concerned about everyone. But all of them don't like it (laughs).
Onew: Not me though.
Minho: Maybe not you, but everyone else seems like they don't like it...
Onew: I don't think that's true... Fine then. The next time we have free time in Japan, let's go for ramen, just the two of us!

SHINee's Onew and CSJH the Grace's Dana to host KBS Kiss The Radio.


Super Junior's Ryeowook and Sungmin will be temporarily absent from KBS's Kiss The Radio (Sukira) on January 16th. SHINe's Onew and CSJH The Grace's Dana will once again be filling in as special DJs.

Kiss The Radio broadcasts from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM KST.

CNBLUE’s front man, Jung Yonghwa, was chosen as the #1 most anticipated male star born in the year of the snake (1989).

6,253 voters took part in a poll conducted by an online portal site, answering the question, “Which male star born in the year of the snake are you looking forward to most this year in 2013?”.

Yonghwa received 32.3% of the votes (2,018 votes), with netizens citing his triple threat skills: music, acting, and variety shows.

In second place was Jung Joon Young of ‘Super Star K4’, garnering 23.1% (1,445 votes) and then Baek Chung Kang of ‘Birth Of A Great Star’ with 20.5% (1,283 votes).

INFINITE’s Sunggyu, actor Lee Jong Suk, and SHINEE’s Onew also made it onto the top tier of the rankings.

Onew has been righteously crowned the victor of WeMade Entertainment's Candypang Battle contest! As many have noticed, Onew has been religiously devoted to the battle, tweeting screenshots of his scores every so often throughout the past month.


The contest was open to all celebrities and a variety of stars participated in the contest which took place from December 5th to December 27th. It not only attracted celebrity participants but also involved fans who could support the ideals by leaving comments through SNS. The official winners of this contest have been announced on the 28th.



Onew's monetary winnings from his triumphant victory amounts to 10 million won ($9338~ USD), accompanied by the special prize of a 10,000 Candypang hearts coupon! Second place went to 1kyne of Electro Boyz, and third place went to gagman Moon Kyubak.
