Kim Hyun Joong has sold a record-breaking number of copies of his new Japanese single.

On June 11, Japan’s music chart Oricon announced, “Kim Hyun Joong made a record for reaching 100,000 sales with his all three singles. It’s the first time this has occurred for any Korean solo singer active in Korea.”

Kim Hyun Joong’s third Japanese single ‘TONIGHT’ sold 116,000 copies in the first week. It is the singer’s third single album to sell over 100,000 copies in the first week of release following his previous singles ‘KISS KISS/Lucky Guy’ and ‘HEAT’.

A representative of Universal Music Japan said, “Not only the new album ‘TONIGHT’, but also the previously released singles ‘HEAT’ and ‘KISS KISS/Lucky Guy’ are having orders until now. They are sold out already in some stores, proving his hot popularity.”


After hanging out with 10,000 Japanese fans last week, Kim Hyun Joong also made a special memory with his fans in Korea through a successful fanmeeting over the weekend.

On June 8, the singer held a fanmeeting titled ‘2013 KHJ Show - Party People’ at Hwajung Gymnasium of Koryo University in Seoul, which gathered 5,000 fans. This is his first official fan meeting in Korea in 1 and a half years.

In the two-hour event, Kim Hyun Joong performed a total of 18 songs as well as held a birthday party and talk session with his fans. Especially, a special “Giyomi Song”video was produced for his fans, drawing happy squeals from the audience.

He also showcased his special birthday single “The Reason I Live”, which he produced just for his fans, for the first time, and it is said that some fans even showed their tears.


In a recent episode of MBC Every1’s ‘Star Photo n Talk’ featured the list for the 30 best looking idol stars. Among countless idols, 2PM’s Nichkhun came out on top according to the show's ranking.

A great number of plastic surgeons, TV show staffs, personology specialists, and viewers participated in the poll. Nichkhun was voted as the best looking idol star, defeating ZE:A’s Siwan in a close fight of 0.16 points.

Kim Hyung Joong came in 3rd followed by Super Junior’s SiWon, SHINee’s Minho, Girls’ Generation’s YoonA and miss A’s Suzy.

Hallyu star Kim Hyun Joong and INFINITE have won another victory on Oricon chart with their latest Japanese albums.

Both released on June 5, Kim Hyun Joong’s third Japanese single “Tonight” and INFINITE’s first Japanese studio album “Koi ni Ochiru Toki (When You Fall in Love)” landed in the top 5 instantly after its release, according to Oricon’s official website.

INFINITE’s “Koi ni Ochiru Toki (When You Fall in Love)” sits atop of Oricon’s Daily Album Chart after selling 40,767 copies on the first day. Kim Hyun Joong’s “Tonight” debuted at second place of Daily Singles Chart with 101,818 copies sold.


Kim Hyun Joong hanged out with 10,000 Japanese fans through a special event in celebration of the release of his third Japanese single ‘Tonight’.

On June 4, the singer held a special event at Nagano Sun Plaza in Tokyo, where he unveiled the music videos for his new tracks “Tonight”, “Cappuccino” and more in front of 10,000 Japanese fans. Especially with Kim Hyun Joong’s birthday coming up on June 6th, the fans surprised him by singing “Happy Birthday” song in Korean.

Around 8,000 fans waited outside as they couldn’t make it into the packed venue and Kim Hyun Joong deeply impressed the fans by requesting setting up a place that they can sit down and wait. He then proceeded to go around and greet every single fan at their seat for the next six hours, expressing his sincere thanks for their support for him.

Kim Hyun Joong has given a helping hand to Chinese people suffering from the Sichuan earthquake.

On May 20, China's One Foundation Charity revealed via Chinese social platform Weibo, that Kim Hyun Joong donated 100 million KRW for the victims of Sichuan earthquake. The foundation promised everyone to make good use of the money in reconstruction of affected areas.

Back in April, a major earthquake struck Sichuan region of China, and over 200 people were killed or went missing, and 13,000 people were seriously injured.

Fans on various social platforms left messages praising Kim Hyun Joong, “I’m proud to be his fan”, “He is always reaching out to those in need!” and more.

Kim Hyun Joong is well-known for having a generous heart and hands. He donated for Japan's double disaster in 2011, he's a part of world Vision and helps Abierta’s House of Friendship in the Philippines.

Kim Hyun Joong showed that again as he didn't hesitate to lend his hands for the victims of Ya’an earthquake or Lushan earthquake. The earthquake happened on April 20 that left 196 dead people, 24 missing and at least 11,826 injured.

One Foundation disclosed on their weibo account that Kim Hyun Joong donated of 100 million Won for the victims. In return, One Foundation promised to use the money wisely.

One Foundation/Shenzhen One Foundation Charity Fund is the first private charitable fundraising organization in China which was registered on December 2010.

Singer and actor Kim Hyun Joong will be meeting his Korean fans in one and a half year through a large-scale fan meeting this coming June.

According to Kim’s agency, the singer will hold ‘2013 KHJ Show—Party People’, which combines a fan meeting and concert, at the Hwajung Gymnasium of Korea University on June 8. As he has had little opportunity to meet fans in Korea, Kim Hyun Joong is said to be preparing stage better than his Asian fan meeting tour and Japan national tour.

A representative stated, “Kim Hyun Joong has been feeling bad for not able to meet Korean fans due to work in overseas. So he planned on the concert to pay the love back.”

Meanwhile, Kim Hyun Joong is busy preparing a new album which will be released in Japan in June. He also appears as a regular on the SBS Sunday entertainment program ‘Barefoot Friends’.




Kim Hyun Joong‘s fans from Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, China, and Thailand extend their love and care not only to their idol, but also to the staff of Barefoot Friends’ who are silently working hard.
SBS Barefoot Friends posted a photo on their official Twitter account and said:
The fans gave the staff sunblock and moisturizer because it's too hot in Indonesia today.
The episodes shot in Indonesia will be aired starting on May 12.

According to his agency, KeyEast, the pop-singer-and-actor is to drop his third Japanese single on June 5th. The single album will include jacket photos of 5 different concepts, and will be available in limited edition, pictorial edition, and original edition.

Kim Hyun Joong has solidified himself as one of the leading K-pop artists in the Japanese music scene with two single albums and one studio album, topping the Oricon daily singles and weekly chart for numerous times.

Meanwhile, Kim Hyun Joong will be appearing on new SBS TV show ‘Bare Foot Friends’ which will premiere on April 21st.


Actor and singer Kim Hyun Joong has won the Best Actor award at the 5th Okinawa International Movie Festival.

Kim Hyun Joong managed to win the Creators Story Best Actor award for his performance in his “Lucky Guy” music video. During his speech, he expressed, “I was touched by the Japanese move, ‘Be with You’.” He added, “I would also like to act in a Japanese movie.”

Judge Okuyama also praised Kim Hyun Joong saying, “He has an aura of James Bond, the likes of which are rarely seen in Japan.”

In addition to receiving an award, Kim Hyun Joong also performed his hits including “Heat”, “U” and “I’m Yours”, and received a great reception from 2,000 fans.


Kim Hyun Joong finally concluded his Japan tour with a successful last concert in Hiroshima.

The singer’s ‘Japan Tour 2013 Unlimited’ came to a successful conclusion in Hiroshima on March 25. The tour kicked off on January 6th in Kobe, and had shows in Saitama, Nagoya, Shizuoka, Miyagi, Fukuoka, Osaka and Tokyo, which pulled in a total of 60,000 fans.

The tickets for his shows were sold out much earlier, and Kim Hyun Joong had to add more cities to his itinerary due to the endless requests from a great number of fans.

Kim Hyun Joong focused on ‘sharing’ and ‘communication’ with his fans in the concerts and devoted himself in making the best shows ever. Not only did he perform at major arenas and stadiums, he also stepped in smaller venues to have more intimate time with his fans.


Hallyu artists Kim Hyun Joong, Ailee and BaeChigi performed the ‘2K13 Feel Korea’ celebration that took place in Brazil’s Sao Paulo from February 24th.

‘2K13 Feel Korea’ is a celebration to mark the 50th anniversary of Korean immigration to Brazil. Over 1,600 fans attended the concert and witnessed the attention-grabbing performances of their favorite artists.

Kim Hyung Joong performed a total number of 5 hit songs from his solo albums including “Break Down”, “Kiss Kiss”, “Please”, “Do You Like That” and “Lucky Guy”. An organizer of the show stated, “I really enjoyed working with Kim Hyun Joong after seeing him smile towards fans.”
