Check out Seungri's Diary update below.

[Title: This is Sendai]

Last year, Sendai experienced earthquakes and tsunami.
It must have been a hard time for everyone.
Today is my first time to Sendai & my schedule was filled with radio, newspaper, magazine etc activities. The news agency’s interview made me quite sad though.
Reporter: VI-san, have you experienced earthquakes before?
VI: No
Reporter: What about tsunamis?
VI: Not that either.
That’s right, I don’t know how terrifying earthquakes and tsunamis are but it’s an indescribable feeling even to the people in Japan who’ve experienced it.
BIGBANG also went through tough times last year. It was a scary experience going through so many hardships because we are still so young, but I don’t think I should hold a “my life is hard and tiring” attitude. No matter how hard the circumstances, I know I should work harder because of the strength I receive from everyone.
I want to see everyone in Sendai healthy and well at next year’s BIGBANG’s Live. It’s a promise!
I also want to hold concerts next year in places we’ve never been to.
Today, I experienced everyone’s sincerity in Sendai.

Part ONE:~

GD SAYS…..BIGBANG & ME
I can’t decide whether BIGBANG was here first or G-dragon was; the feeling is like whether there was chicken before egg? With BIGBANG came my solo, with the members came the group, BIGBANG. I never really thought about it in this aspect before.

GD SAYS... MY MUSIC
I think an album is like a diary. You will be able to feel that when you listen to it again in a few years, ‘Ah…so I had that way of thinking and that energy when I was at that age..” With that being said, there are special meanings about all the albums to me. Even though lots of time and energy are taken to produce an album, but when I listen to it after awhile, it feels shy and immature. The feeling that I don’t understand anything but I keep spurting out energy? Producing albums need practice and I think I need more of that.

I also want to produce my music that I can consider my own. Hip-hop is what I started with but I’m always trying new styles, new genres and combining them together. I think superb music has already appeared and now I have to use that and create something that I can call my own. The funny thing is that it’s impossible to create a good song if I go along with what people consider a hit song or popular song. Rather, a good and popular song is created when we sip some wine or play some games. We get our inspiration through that and use our memories to create a popular song.

GD SAYS... MY STYLE
I usually don’t care what people say about me and so I need to work harder. Even though people say lots of things about BIGBANG, but if I were to care about each and every single opinion, then BIGBANG or I wouldn’t be where we are today. I want to have my own line of thought towards everything I do and stick with my beliefs. It is like that with style - even though the way BIGBANG dressed in the beginning became part of people’s jokes but because of our confidence and the way we pull off our styles, people started to accept it. That’s what I would like to continue to do in the future.

Part TWO:~

GD SAYS... FASHION & PASSION
As with other hip-hop artists, I also want to have my own brand but compared to that, there’s something I want even more and that is to open my own store; a store that is the most recommended place to go in Korea for fashionistas around the world when they come here to play. I want people to feel that the store has cool staff, trendy clothes, good music and it’s somewhere that combines both the fashion trend and culture - a store where they can learn a lot from.

I want to create a space and gather fashionistas there that will make up a special culture. Rather than luxury fashion, I am more compatible with street culture and quirky fashion brands. Designers for luxury brands also get their inspiration from street culture and do collaborations together. Affordable clothes are of course great, but I would rather recommend a street brand that has different aspects to offer - one that combines a certain culture or lifestyle.

GD SAYS... KOREAN WAVE
I think now is a perfect time for the Hallyu wave to jump out of Asia and break into different parts of the world. We shouldn't waste this opportunity if we want our country’s music and the pop industry to intercept with each other. We have to work hard to expand our music.

Japan is the 2nd biggest music market in the world but I think Korean music is also very outstanding too. I’m worried that we might just miss such a good opportunity. I hope we can fully grasp this chance and let the world understand our country’s music, and to educate the younger generation about it. There are a lot of outstanding musicians in Korea so I also have to work hard in the future. I don’t mean 5-6 years down the road but I want to work hard for a long time. I also want to lead new music and create a new Hallyu wave.

I think now is a perfect time for not just Korean music to develop, but also a lot of different things. However, you can’t be lazy and not go to work just because it’s going smoothly; you have to work even harder to guide it into a new direction. I hope everyone works hard together and make sure that the Hallyu wave is developed and promoted further. I also expect myself to be standing in the center of all of this.

Part THREE:~

GD SAYS... BE A NEW STANDARD
I hope people don’t simply listen to an artists’ new album and watch one of their performances, but they should set a standard for themselves and judge what is outstanding music. There are a lot of music out there with almost the same standards and practically the same styles. I want to be the model answer to that; to be the standard that people can judge what is good music or not. However, if there are better and more outstanding musicians than me that can present a better answer, I will feel happy too.

GD SAYS... MY DREAM
Seeing how handsome singers are on stage made me have the dream of becoming a singer. “Ah…I want to be like that, those kind of people are so handsome.” I really liked the singers at the time and even though the singers nowadays are also handsome and the songs are good, but I thought to myself how wonderful it would be to become like them.

Compared to other companies, YG can give me everything that I want. If I started music activities in another company then things would be different now. I've been in this company since I was young and learning has become part of my daily life. Everything I learn here has a big effect on me. Going to the office is a natural thing for me nowadays. The days when I feel tired, I would rather stay in the office with my hyungs and make music together rather than going out to play. This is how this place is to me.

Music has the great power to overcome obstacles as well as time, and 2NE1, Big Bang, Se7en, Gummy, Jinusean, Psy and Tablo, the newest addition to the YG Entertainment family, came together to become one through music.

The YG artists gathered on the Gymnastics Stadium stage at Seoul’s Olympic Park on December 4 for the 15th Anniversary YG Family Concert, where they performed for a crowd of 13,000 screaming fans.

2NE1 opened the show with hit song Fire before captivating the audience with performances of Can’t Nobody and Go Away. Member Sandara Park couldn’t contain her joy when she said, “I can’t tell if it’s a dream or reality that 2NE1 is taking part in YG Family’s 15th anniversary.”

The baton was then passed off to group Big Bang, who took to the stage for the first time together as five members in eight months. This marked the first time all of the members were greeting fans as one group since Daesung’s car accident and since G-Dragon was charged for marijuana use.

The concert was meaningful not only for the Big Bang members but for the group’s fans as well. Taeyang said, “It’s been a while since the five Big Bang members stood on stage together, and I’m glad we could stand together at a meaningful place like the YG Family 15th anniversary concert. I hope we can be together for not only the 15th anniversary but for the 20th anniversary as well.”

Daesung and G-Dragon, who returned to the stage after their fair share of ups and downs, shared their honest feelings about standing on stage again.

“It’s been a really long time since I’ve stood on stage,” said Daesung. “I realized how precious music and the stage is through being able to stand at this concert and the good times I’ve had in the past. Thank you.”

G-Dragon said, “I’m sorry for making everyone worry for one reason or another. I will make sure something like this doesn’t happen again,” before adding, “I will make up for it with good music.”

The glue of YG, Gummy and Se7en, were applauded for their colorful performances. The return of YG’s original hip hop duo Jinusean, which also celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, made the occasion all the more special. Member Sean said, “Welcome to YG’s 15th anniversary concert. This is a particularly meaningful stage for us.” He continued, “Just as it is YG Family’s 15th anniversary, it has been 15 years for Jinusean as well. Thank you for supporting us from the beginning and for cheering on YG Family’s success.”

Tablo, who was the target of a witch hunt concerning his academic credentials, then moved fans with performances of his hit songs. He introduced himself, saying “This is Tablo of Epik High, the youngest member and late child of YG, who is responsible for the lonely and melancholy winter air in a warm familial atmosphere.” He then said, “It’s been a while since I’ve seen you all from the stage (loud cheers), and I think it’s for this reason that I began doing music. Thank you very much.”

One of the many highlights of the night was Psy’s performance. He kicked off his set with Right Now before getting the fans on their feet with Celebrity, Shake It, Paradise and Champion.

The collaboration performances between the YG artists, however, proved to be the most memorable. Se7en and G-Dragon made surprise appearances during Jinusean’s performance, adding to the energy onstage. Se7en, Taeyang, Seungri and Daesung also surprised fans with a performance of 2NE1’s Lonely, while Sandara Park joined Psy on stage for Celebrity, causing fans to burst into laughter with her ‘Psy dance.’ It was a show that would have been difficult to witness anywhere else.

YG will take the family concert abroad for the first time in five years, since its overseas 10th anniversary concert. Japanese record label and Avex, who has formed YGEX in partnership with YG Entertainment, will bring the concert to Osaka’s Kyocera Dome on January 7 and 8 before making a stop at the Saitama Super Arena on January 21 and 22.

Little Kwon Jiyong is suffering from Persistent hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia in infants so he needs 2 million wons for her monthly medical care. Thanks to the generous donators that his family is able to support this heavy medical burden now.

This is our little G-Dragon! Thank you for all of you who have helped Jiyong to achieve his dream. of living healthily.

On 15th, June, Kwon Ji Yon (Male/4 years old) came to our office. He was diagnosed to have ‘ persistent hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia in infants’ 2 or 3 years ago. The once seemed-to-be-so-fragile boy has now transformed into a very healthy one which really surprised us.

Persistent hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia in infants is a disease which we we can find in little kids. These kids have low blood glucose level for their Insulin is abnormally active. Since this disease will be associated with muscle fatigues, if it is not dealt with at the beginning stage, the kids might become mentally retarded, etc In the worst case, the suffered children might die of brain damage. Because the medicine for this disease is rare, the medical expense for their family mounts up as high as 2 million wons.

The income of the father is not even enough to support the daily expense of the 4 family mentions, not to mention the heavy medical expense. They had already been indebted to more than 90 million wons by that time. The kids who are suffering from this disease have to take medicine until they are 3 years old, then their body can moderate the level of insulin by themselves. However, during the period that they have to undergo the medical treatment, it is very torturing to both of the patients and the family.

When the family were very desperate about their situation, Mr Peter Wong and the members of GD-supporters.com have ignited their hope. Thanks to them, little Jiyong can continue his medical treatment and ever since last September, his medical expense has decreased by 200000 wons each month.

In June, 2009, little Jiyong came to our office with his brother.

The fans use the love that they have towards the star to save a life

The members of GD-supporters.com happened to know the case of little Jiyong because the the kid and the star share the same name. Starting from August, 2009, they started to donate 1 million wons per month to support this family. Up til now, they have already donated 28 million wons. Part of the donation go to the kids who are suffering from kidney disorders.

The health of little Jiyong has been getting better day by day. Although there is still a long way to go before he can end his medical treatment, we anticipate that one day, he can live healthily without any medicine intake.

We want to take this opportunity to thank you the members of GD-supporters.com, who show the love that they have towards the star in this generous way. We hope that you can support little Jiyong until the day he is fully recovered.
