2AM’s Seulong showed off his king look for upcoming KBS drama, ‘Heaven’s Order’.

On March 7th, Seulong posted on his Twitter, “Crown Prince Yi? Here’s saying hello to everyone. I will be casting as King Injong. I feel a bit uncomfortable with the beards, but I should get used to it soon”, and attached two photos.

In the photos, Seulong is preparing for his shooting, wearing his king robe costumes and complete makeup. With his forced stern look, Seulong looked charismatic yet comical.

Seulong is cast as Crown Prince Yi Ho who would later become King Injong of Joseon. ‘Heaven’s Order’ has also become a hot topic for casting Lee Dong Wook, Song Ji Hyo and Yoon Jin Yi as the lead roles.

2AM Seulong's revealed his favorite items

- Soccer
Basketball, boxing, swimming, etc. As long as it is sports, I really like them all. But as I started doing activities as a part of the Celebrity Soccer Team not long ago, I've been obsessed with soccer. And recently, because I had injured my leg, I had no choice but to feel frustrated by the fact that I couldn't play any sports for quite a while. I really want to recover fast and play sports again. T.T

- Shopping
As a celebrity, eventually you'll have to take care of your fashion sense in one way or another. But putting aside that fact, I really do have interest in fashion. That's why I often go shopping with the other members, and even if our schedule clashes, I could still go shopping here and there by myself. And since I find enjoyment in decorating, it can really~ release me from my stress and even offers a healing effect. I really like shopping!

- Necktie & Handkerchief
Sunglasses, hats, neckties, etc. Since I have extreme interest in accessories, collecting them has been my hobby lately. Occupation-wise, there are times when you have to go to a ceremony or a party and you'll have to dress fancy, won't you? So I've come to collect them little by little because of that. As for neckties, I've only started collecting them recently, so currently I have around 20-30. A small prop can complete one's fashion. Haha.

- Movie (Blue Valentine)
I'm the type of person who must watch a movie or two before I go to sleep. I've revealed the movie that I've been really satisfied with recently, which is indeed the movie where my favorite actor stars, "Blue Valentine." It tells the story of a couple who got married because they loved each other, when reality strikes them and various problems started to rise between them. Even though there are some parts where I feel frustrated and annoyed while watching the movie, overall, I can sympathize with it, and it is oddly a very charming movie.

Im Seulong "I'm jealous of Sunye, I want to get married too and have a child.”
Jung Jinwoon "I couldn't date after I debuted. I don't even remember when the last time I dated was."

2AM have revealed their inner thoughts and true feelings about love and dating.

While participating in the pictorial photoshoot for the February edition, 2AM have also carefully shown their thoughts about dating while living as an idol in an interview done by "AtStyle" (@star1) that will be included in the March 21st edition of the magazine.

2AM have not once been revealed that they're in a relationship or the sort since their debut. Jo Kwon did have past activities with Brown Eyed Girl's Gain as a make-believe married couple in MBC "We Got Married," but that was it. And even with that, none of the members really have been rumored or even in a love scandal not even once, including Jo Kwon.

When Jung Jinwoon was asked when was the last time he dated, he confessed, "It has been so long, I can't really remember." He continued, "After 2AM debuted, I couldn't find the time to date. I was busy exercising and practicing and all, there was really no time for it. It's not that I don't want to date, but my ideal type is a girlfriend that I can be comfortable with, even in public."

At the news of Im Seulong's close friend and fellow colleague, Sunye, getting married, he confessed, "I'm still not sure about dating for now, but one thing for sure is I do want to get married as fast as possible. That's why I'm quite jealous of Sunye. Moreover, I really adore children, so I really want to get married soon and have a child of my own."

On a side note, 2AM is scheduled to have a comeback with a new album in the first-half of 2013. This has been the February edition of "AtStyle" filled with 2AM's new year's honest thoughts and stories.

Im Seulong reveals the reason why he has started showing his concerns towards society problems.

Im Seulong has taken his first step onto his first film with the movie "26 Years" (directed by Jo Geunhyeok). He may be a member of the singing group 2AM, but he completely changes into the mind of a new actor when he goes to filming. And because of that, Im Seulong is praised mercilessly by his fellow acting partners and movie staff to the point where their mouths were drying up. "A Promising Tree," as the saying goes, Im Seulong believes he has upgraded his own values.

Though he is called an idol, he's already 26 years old at age. He may be living his social life the same as most people do, but there'd be a very clear difference between the life of a star and the life of a normal person. There are also young stars that are no doubt younger than most of their acting peers, who receive lots of love as they live their young social lives just like an adult. They may wish to live a normal life, but it'll be impossible by then. Im Seulong has no doubt fixed all of his bad points as time went by, and finally managed to stand on where is he right now, with all the hard work and worries he have gone through.

In a recent interview with Newsen, Im Seulong confessed, "As I was filming for the movie, I think I've come to develop a deeper love towards our country. I'm usually the type who's true to his own feelings. I can only be satisfied if I say the truth even if it's embarrassing.." Im Seulong had chosen to participate in the movie because of the perfectly politically-influenced and unusual storyline, but somehow he really fits extremely well with the movie.

"I've also come to develop a deep concern towards social problems. The same reason goes to why I upload news about sexual assaults and the sort on my twitter account, even though they're a quite sensitive topic. I write those posts with the thought of 'Let's begin with myself. I hope I can make the world a better place, even if it's only a little' in my mind. Of course, this is a scary thing to do. It's not like I perfectly know everything about the world, and I wouldn't know what kind of feedback I'd get when I post things like these. That's why I've been studying a lot and working hard on trying to understand."

Among the many social problems that exist, Im Seulong's concern seems to be leaning very heavily towards sexual assault problems. Recently, Im Seulong left a tweet on his twitter account about this problem that goes, "'Sex Offender of a Pregnant Woman On Due is Announced to Serve 15 Years in Jail' I really want to add another number '1' in front of that. I don't even think 115 years is enough, add 2. 1115 years!" as he linked to the original article.

Im Seulong exclaimed, "There is no doubt we need to make the world a better a place. That's why I kept writing about it on twitter, and I really hope people will take notice of this problem, even if it's just a little. When I heard that the right for offense subjects to complaint was abolished, I was really happy. Even though every time I write something, I'll still have a lot of uncertainties, but people like (Lee) Hyori Nuna or Writer Kangfull, who often takes the first initiative towards social problem, are very admirable and they give us juniors a lot of strength."

Though Im Seulong (25) would feel sad when he hears this, the sentence "Ouh~ that guy is really just..!" automatically spewed out of my mouth. But that sentence is not directed to Im Seulong. It is a comment directed to the rain on everybody's parade, Kwon Junghyeok. If only it's possible, I just want to grab a rope, tie him tightly somewhere, and leave him there.

The movie "26 Years" (Directed by Jo Geunhyeok, Cheongeoram Productions) was based on the Pro Democratic Movement in Gwangju on May 18th, 1980. Im Seulong played the role of Kwon Junghyeok, a police officer who was determined to bring justice to the world after witnessing the death of his sister, who was shot by Gye-eom. Moreover, he also became the source of information during the operation when he somehow got involved with the main character, which was "that person" (Jang Gwang).

"Kwon Junghyeok was quite a pain in the neck, wasn't he? All he does is mess everything up *giggles*… I heard anybody who watches the movie would go 'Aigoo~' and kept letting out sighs of relief. Most people probably just want to punch him in the face. I also had these exact impressions when I watched it. And so, I was quite worried if the audience would hate me too much because of this. But putting that aside, I do hope you'd enjoy watching it. Since I'm not the real Kwon Junghyeok, please don't hate me too much. Haha."

◆ Thanks to "26 Years", I became a man with more knowledge
Recently, Im Seulong suffered a fracture on his entire left foot and toe when he was exercising, and even received surgery because of it. It must have been quite uncomfortable as he limped into the interview. But to our relief, he told us that the pain was mostly gone by now and tried to make us feel at ease. As I asked him, "How in the world did you get into this state?" he reveals his inner regrets and answered, "It's because of [26 Years]."

"I was told to lost some weight before we start promoting the movie, so I began to workout. But when we filmed the movie, there were a lot of gatherings with the fellow seniors. I gained about 8~9kg because of this. So in this state, I thought it just won't work, so I just started working out abruptly. I managed to lose 9kg in just 3 weeks. But because I started working out so suddenly, I started to develop anemia. And so, I ended up injuring my foot when I had put on too much pressure on it. This is all because of those gatherings~" He confessed as he cutely whined. Borrowing the sayings of his member Jo Kwon, he said it's an injury that is rarely seen on a ballad singer and started to elaborate on that topic alone.

Though we kept joking with each other, he is no doubt a young man who turns serious once we start talking about "26 Years." The said masterpiece that brings a lot of meaning to himself, "26 Years." No doubt that film-wise, the contents of the movie prove to be very meaningful, but as an actor, he expressed his thankfulness on how this movie has saved him and even widened his acting spectrum. Moreover, he also came to develop "a heart that cherishes one's country." It may seem like a sentence that could have been written by an elementary student during an essay homework, but he expressed how he became more patriotic as he was filming for "26 Years."

Im Seulong, who had searched for old newspapers ahead of filming for the movie. He calmly read over the political column and learned about politics as he moved on to the history column right after. He even read each and every page of the economy and the general news column. "I wouldn't know whether it's possible to have perfect knowledge as I live my life, but one thing I'm sure of is through this movie, I was given the chance to understand how the world actually spins."

"When you're in school, you know how you start memorizing things for exams, right? For example, the question would be "When was the 5.18 Gwangju Pro-Democracy Movement created?" like this. And then through this good chance, you'll eventually learn about the whole page of this subject. As if it's like that, I thoroughly searched for documentaries, books, materials, etc. that are related to the events on the 18th of May and prepared myself with it. I think by doing this, I didn't embarrass myself by having zero knowledge when I joined the filming.. thanks to this movie, I have become a man with more knowledge, which is good."

◆ An invisible hand? What does it matter!
There is a story that has become quite famous, which is the story of "26 Years" and its production mishaps. For 4 years, various production crews have been experiencing nonstop calamity done by an invisible hand. And no doubt in that process, fellow actors and directors are sometimes forced to change the scenarios according to the current situation. If we were to talk about the strongly politics-based movie "26 Years" on the other hand, then it is nowhere near excluded from the fact that rumors about the troublesome filming period have been going around.

If we were to be much more frank than this, "26 Years" is one dangerous masterpiece. That's why its misfortune-filled scenario really had suffered a lot of turndowns from many actors. But Im Seulong was unexpectedly calm about this. He totally didn't mind this mystery at all. He said he had already knew about the movie's rough plot through the webtoon version of "26 Years" written by Kangfull, which was already serially published at that time, before he even got his script.

"It was quite refreshing and interesting how the serially published webtoon changed into a movie scenario. I accepted the offer because the movie scenario was still as interesting. Though to be honest, I'm still clueless about a lot of things regarding films since I'm still a new actor. I had probably just dashed through everything without a fear for anything." Im Seulong exclaimed as the current situation came to his mind..

Even until now, positive attention is not the only type of attention that "26 Years" had gotten. And with that, Im Seulong requested to the audience, "I hope you'll watch the movie and think of it only as a movie. Whether it's in the past or in the present, a movie can only be a hit if it's good. Otherwise, it won't. That's that. I really hope you won't see this movie and think of it in a bad way."

"After the press conference of the movie "26 Years," (Han) Hyejin Nuna said something like this during the meeting with the reporters. Commercial and drama offers were coming in mercilessly for her. I'm already on a few commercials at the moment. I'm also receiving a few film offers right now. I think I don't have to be concerned or worried about this as for now. Haha."

◆ I don't want to hear things like "Copycat Actor"
It's impossible to leave the local accent out when the movie clearly takes place in Gwangju. However, I asked him out of worry, "Did you managed to pick up the thick local accent?" because I heard it was just embarrassing. You can barely hear Im Seulong's local accent in his acting attempt to do so. It was to the point where the fellow local Nuna would cry at the scene.

"Were you worried if an idol singer's ability to act as a country boy would be a controversy?" I directed that question to Im Seulong, referring to the local accent topic as he confessed that he even received private lessons about it. He exclaimed, "I had received thorough lessons from the teacher. Among the many points of Gwangju's local accent, there's one where the word "~to do" is pronounced "~to dew". I mainly learnt things like that. But unfortunately, Kwon Junghyeok was character that would spit out his local accent only when he's excited, so you couldn't really hear it often."

Im Seulong mentioned how his fellow member, Jung Jinwoon, is called "The Son of Jeonllanam-do." Jung Jinwoon, whose local accent comes out the most when he's talking with his mother. Thanks to him, at least he wasn't completely unfamiliar with the local accent. But because he was a Kyeongsang-do bornt himself, he still had remnants of his local pronunciation and intonation. And because of that, it was hard to pick up the local Gwangju accent and spit it back out.

"I think the public have been paying extra attention to idols who're playing the roles of country boys. And so, I tried my best to be careful as I acted. All I could think about was 'I should do better than this.' Including my attempt to act using the local accent. I was no doubt worried if the movie would flop because of me. I didn't want to hear things like 'an idol who tries to copycat everything.' I've worked hard and gave my best as an actor for 3 months. I think I can be called Actor Im Seulong now, don't you think so?" he confessed.

An interview with Im Seulong was arranged at Samcheongdong, Seoul regarding his recent movie, "26 Years" and while we were at it, Im Seulong expressed his opinions on the recent news of Wonder Girls' Sunye's upcoming marriage and talked about her husband-to-be with Joynews24.

"They are a very lovely couple." Im Seulong praised as he continued, "I have met Sunye's boyfriend, he was a very nice person. He even offered me to do voluntary work in Haiti together with him."

Sunye, who had once confessed she was in a loving relationship at a variety program, even shocking her fans with that confession, had revealed on the 27th that she was getting married, which was a very uncommon news among idol group members.

Im Seulong confessed "Though it appeared as very special news when it got on the newspapers, to me, it wasn't that special," and added, "The Sunye I know is a very faithful friend and she's not the kind of person to think about marriage lightly. I really want to congratulate her."

He also added, "I also have a few friends who have gotten married by their mid 20's and already have children. I was amazed at first, but then I thought, you'll never know what'll happen throughout your life, and so I think getting married at my age is something normal."

At the topic of marriage, we asked Im Seulong if he doesn't have a girlfriend. He answered "I haven't really thought about marriage yet, though I do love children." He expressed as he continued, "If I were to have a son, then I'd want to exercise together with him, while if I were to have a daughter, I'd want to buy her pretty things and go on trips with her," he confessed as he giggled.

Nobody had looked forward to Im Seulong's (25) acting skills. It was no doubt that he has a firm spot as a singer, but it was hard to see him as an actor. It's not because of fear that his acting will be bad, but it's because he hasn't been acting that much. Sure enough, he acted in the drama "Personal Taste," a one-episode drama "Lunchbox," and the independent film "Acoustic," but they didn't leave a deep impression on the audience. Unlike most idols and actors who would be afraid at the warning "If you can't hold a big role on your first time," this man was quietly moving people's hearts little by little. And that effort can be seen clearly in <26 years="years">.

◆ <26 years="years">, a work piece that is responsible for the rebirth of Im Seulong as an actor

"As a singer, all I did was set a goal and just go for it. To be No.1 and to be the best, but acting has made me into a calmer person. I came to grasp myself even more as I watched myself on the screen, I came to appear as a new person and I had developed a calmer mindset."

The movie <26 years="years"> had become the turning point for him. At the silly question of what's the difference between a drama and a movie, he answered, "Before a drama or a movie is released and shared with other people, you'll become different with each of them. Especially for <26 years="years">, I think I've changed the most before and after this movie."

"The works I've done before <26 years="years">, I did them without knowing the right way and just worked hard on them. I listened to the advise given by the seniors and just followed after them. During the preparation period for <26 years="years">, I had properly received acting classes and watched a lot of movies, plays, and musicals by myself in a more serious manner. Since I was filming this movie with a mindset of an actor, it was a new experience."

Whilst preparing for <26 years="years">, studying acting wasn't the only thing that he did. He claimed, "I wasn't really the type of person who was interested in politics or social welfare before, but as I started filming for this movie, I've started subscribing to 2, 3 newspaper companies." In order to fully understand what the film is about, he thought it was important on understanding how it really happened.

Can people see his sincere effort though? <26 years="years"> has only been released to the public for 6 days and has already grabbed over a million views by the 4th day. And with that, Im Seulong was strongly determined as he said, "If it passes 5 million views, I'll do anything."

◆ "Something that you deeply regret while acting for this movie? I'm reminded of the trials and errors."

He said the first thing he grasped about the movie <26 years="years"> was the original webtoon made by Kang Full. "I enjoyed the original webtoon and the scenarios were very interesting, so I thought I have to do this."

But there have been a lot of rumors going on saying that the movie's plotline has changed a lot from the original one. There were especially a lot of opinions saying that Im Seulong's character, Jung Hyeok, would be a failure. But even so, this man who has always been meticulous with details said he had already knew about this.

"Although to the viewers there may be a lot of disappointing points, I'm fine with it. Nevertheless, the movie's plotline was based on the original webtoon, so Jung Hyeok was still an emotionally unstable psycho. So I had to shoot every scene twice. One for the unstable and aggressive part of me, and one for the less aggressive part of me, like this. And then, in order to balance it out with the overall storyline, I think for the most part, the less aggressive version of the scenes gets chosen instead."

When asked whether he doesn't have any regretful scenes while acting for this movie, he answered, "More than the feeling of regret, I'm reminded of the trials and errors."

"Actually, there was a scene where I would ask Mr. Choi Gyejang, "What will happen to me now?" as he gave me a bottle of milk and a piece of bread. The line was supposed to be said as you're filled with fear, but in real life, I thought you wouldn't even be able to say a word if you were really feeling that afraid. I thought, wouldn't it be better if it were shown through your stare or by your hesitant words, but since this was a movie and how you convey your lines were much more important, I had a lot of worries. Surely on my future movies, I'd want to show a much better side of me."

◆ "Presidential election? If only a lot more people in their 20s voted"

We've opened the topic of the presidential election to him, who has been reading newspapers as of lately. Since it's a sensitive question, we thought he'd be avoiding it, but instead he answered it full of concern and determination.

"I truly don't know who'll get chosen, I think we'll have to look out on this for a bit longer. But I know one thing for sure, we have to vote. It's no doubt that the nation has the right for democracy. And more than anything, it'd be even better if only a lot more people in their 20s voted too."

Im Seulong is really great with words. Every time I throw out a question, his answer follows by ever so smoothly. And not to mention how his answers are always straightforward and determined. Through this interview, it was found out that the "matured young man" image was created right after his debut. I thought wasn't that a bit burdensome for him.

"I did think that I had to do a better job to live up to that image, but I didn't feel burdened by it. Because I am what I am. I think the reason why many people told me that I was matured is because not many people my age would have a big ambition or were that determined in chasing their dreams. Even though I did think that I should be doing a much better job, I have not once felt burdened by it."

And I wonder what was his ambition and dreams were.

"As an actor, I want to show more variety and a matured side of me. Because until now, all the roles I've played so far are the role of a fresh young man. While as a singer, as I continue walking on the road 2AM have been walking so far, I also want to try and go as a solo singer. Without any limitation on what kind of music genre it is."

While 2AM are scheduled to greet their fans again with a new album by the end of January next year, with a heart filled desire to act, Im Seulong exclaimed, "I definitely want to film another movie during the first half of next year."

It’s a good day for revenge film 26 Years — after losing investors due to its politically sticky subject matter, languishing in development for four more years, and then resurrected by collecting donations from netizens online (reportedly 5 million won from over 13,000 people), the movie finally saw the light of day, and opened in theaters at number one. Slow clap, people. Slow clap.

The project is based on a 2006 webtoon of the same name by Kang Pool, about a group of individuals who set out to get revenge for the Gwangju Massacre of 1980, 26 years after the fact. The target of their assassination plot? Ex-president Chun Doo-hwan. You can see why it’s controversial — a wish-fulfillment revenge plot against a living ex-president is not for the faint of heart.

A little background: Chun Doo-hwan was the last dictator of South Korea who ruled from 1979 to 1988. He was technically only a military dictator from 1979 to 1980, and then won an “election” to the presidency in 1980, wherein he was the only candidate on the ballot. His term marks one the most turbulent political eras in modern Korean history, and his was the regime against which citizens rose up in organized demonstrations in May 1980, culminating in the Gwangju Massacre.

The movement and rebellion calling for democracy rose up in various parts of the country, but was most heated and most organized in Gwangju, where students took up arms in protest. The demonstration lasted days until the military came and quelled the movement. The death toll is still unknown to this day. Chun was belatedly tried for his crimes and sentenced to death, later overturned by life imprisonment, later overturned again with a reduced fine.

The film takes up 26 years after that event, when five characters who each lost a family member in May 1980 come together to find their own justice. Jin Gu (Moby Dick) plays a gangster; Han Hye-jin (Syndrome) a professional shooter (the athlete kind); Bae Soo-bin (49 Days) plays a businessman; Im Seul-ong (Acoustic) a young policeman, and Lee Kyung-young (Vampire Prosecutor 2) the head of a private security team. Jang Kwang plays a character they only call “That Man,” aka ex-president Chun.

The directorial debut from Jo Geun-hyun (art director on The Royal Concubine) opened on November 29 with over 110,000 tickets sold, taking first place at the box office, and easily doubled the figure and then some on its second day out. Not bad for a movie partially funded by donations online. Sometimes, the internet rules.

26 Years is in theaters now.

To Im Seulong's appearance in '26 years', indeed he is worthy of being called 'God's Number'. Earnestly challenged acting in MBC drama 'Personal Taste', Im Seulong showed a more natural acting in the movie '26 years' that has been opened on the 29th. Even among veteran actors, (he) managed to blend in well without stealing the limelight. The production itself reported on Daily Topic (a kind of newspaper) about '26 years' Im Seulong is a production that showed his earnest acting talent.

◆"Wrote 'Believe in my intuition' on the scenario"

Acting as police Kwon Jeong Hyuk who lived with his sister, who died during the 1980 Gwangju Democratization Movement, in his heart, (Im Seulong) is involved in this project that condemns the main culprit of the massacre as "That man". For the sake of "That man" who plays golf, Jeong Hyuk who works with a sense of shame manipulating traffic lights is a fragile figure who jumped into the operations without any thought, suffering internal conflicts.

On the 29th meeting Im Seulong at Seoul Samcheongdong, he is different vastly from character in movie in terms of personality. Although being a rookie actor for a while, (he) calmly showed his slowly filled greed for acting, protecting his center without being shaken. Being thrown a somewhat bland question if acting was fun, Im Seulong answered smiling naturally "What difference would it made if I say".

"During the 1 and a half years of rest after promotions, (I) received acting lessons and studied watching musicals, plays and movies. Any rookie would do that, but (I) also watched the production and followed exactly the situations and lines. Although (I) acted in a drama, acting in a movie is also different. I learnt a lot though the movie. (I) did not want to miss a single thing."

From '26 years' the help from the senior actors who matched the breathing was a great encouragement to Im Seulong. Great senior Lee Kyeong Yeong was always patting Im Seulong's cheek on set, giving him his affection and encouragement. He recalled at the time of recording "The teachers, seniors didn't teach (me) but expressed it naturally" and "Because I know I was indeed labelled as an idol singer, up till there I had to calculate more surely and did preparations."

"(I) worked hard, but when preparing not to be mechanical the seniors thought of me cutely. (They) told me 'Express it according to how you feel, how you think'. At the top of the scenario, I have written 'Believe in my intuition'. Expressing it along with myself, (I) cannot go without a sense of ignorance. (I) have to unconditionally believe in my intuition in order to work hard in expressing freely. Instead of whether (I'm) acting well or not, in my opinion knowing what to express in this situation brings confidence."
