Kim Hee Sun, Lee Byung Hun, Super Junior's Choi Siwon, and Oh Jong Hyuk walked down the runway to honor fashion designer Andre Kim, who passed away on August 12 at the age of 74 from colorectal cancer. The tribute show was held at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Seoul on November 19.

To showcase his ornate gowns and suits to their best effect, Andre Kim always employed the most beautiful celebrities and models to participate in a runway show that featured strong elements of fantasy and artistry. His final tribute show lived up to the others. Kim Hee Sun, who was one of Andre Kim's favorite models, walked down the runway in many beautiful gowns, often accompanied by Lee Byung Hun, who cut a dashing figure in Andre Kim's suits. The handsome Choi Siwon and Oh Jong Hyuk also made several appearances on the runway, wearing clothes that seemed inspired by Korean and Western royalty.

Pictures from the early career of Korea’s best-known fashion designer Andre Kim, who died last week, show the flamboyant designer before he started wearing and making his trademark all-white outfits.

You Jae-ryuk, one of Korea’s first commercial photographers, revealed the pictures of Kim taken in 1963 and 1964 to the Chosun Ilbo on Monday. They show clothes that Kim made immediately after he opened Salon Andre across from the Chosun Hotel in Sogong-dong, central Seoul, in 1962.

In the pictures, Kim works with top actress Tae Hyun-sil and popular models Cho Hye-ran and Monica Yoo. “Kim’s clothes started becoming popular among the wives of diplomats in Korea as soon as he debuted in 1962,” recalls the 73-year-old photographer. “These pictures were taken for a special fashion catalogue for winter 1963-1964.”

Although Kim is now known for his trademark elaborate dresses, usually in white, in his early days he focused on simple, modern styles in restrained colors. “It’s really difficult to find pictures of his pre-1980 clothes. These are very valuable as they are rare pictures showing Kim’s works before he built his own white fashion world,” says Toh Shin-woo, the head of agency Model Center and a long-time friend.

Andre Kim, who died of an illness Thursday at the age of 74, reportedly left real estate worth billions of won.

A top Korean designer, Kim owned his boutique and 540 square meters of land that are worth around 30 billion won ($25 million) in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam, southern Seoul, according to media, Friday.

Kim built his shop in 2001, mortgaging the land to get a bank loan of 2.3 billion won, which he paid back in 2004.

Kim, who had been battling colon cancer, also had a flat in a Hyundai apartment complex in Apgujeong-dong, southern Seoul, that costs around three billion won.

In 1982, the designer adopted his son, Jung-do, 30.

Famous fashion Designer Andre Kim (Real Name Kim Bong Nam) dies at the age of 75 due to sever pneumonia that lead to cancer which was why he was hospitalized a few weeks ago.

Since he has been hospitalized, his health has been deteriorating and health facilities wasnt able to help his condition.

Andre Kim has died in Seoul National University Hospital and right now outsiders aren't allowed to visit.
