The movie ‘Berlin File’ by director Ryoo Seung Wan ranked No. 1 at the box office by luring over 1.53 million moviegoers in the first weekend of its release on January 30.

The film has attracted more than 2.24 million viewers so far, hitting the 2 million mark in the shortest time of any films released in January or February, the low season for movies.

CJ Entertainment, the distributor of the action flick, expects ‘Berlin File’ to keep its strong showing this week during the lunar New Year’s holiday.

The movie drew attention even before its release due to the star-studded lineup featuring Jeon Ji Hyun, Han Suk Kyoo, Ha Jung Woo and Ryoo Seung Bum. The flamboyant action scenes are apparently a particular draw.

The main trailer for the upcoming Korean movie ‘Berlin’ has been released, giving a glimpse of the heart-pounding action scenes.

The movie’s production released the movie trailer on January 14th. The trailer starts out by narration of Han Suk Gyu, who casted as Korean secret agent, Jung Jin Soo, followed by showing an intense conflict with North Korean agent Pyo Jong Sung (Ha Jung Woo).

The trailer also introduces the Jeon Ji Hyun’s mysterious translator character, Yeon Jung Hee and Ryu Seung Bum’s spy character, Dong Myung Soo. Furthermore, the actors’ intense action scene, chasing and gun fight scenes are raising many movie fans’ excitement much higher.

Based in Berlin, the new movie is a spy action drama about three guys and a woman who get involved in an unexpected plot.

Singer Kim Tae Woo released a music video teaser for his upcoming single, “Looking at Myself Makes Me Sad”.

“Looking at Myself Makes Me Sad” is another heartbreaking ballad produced by Duble Sidekick. Scheduled for release on October 4th, the song will also be included in Duble Sidekick’s new project album, which will be released sometime before the end of the year.

Released on September 28th, the music video teaser features the participation of actor Ryu Seung Bum. Check out the teaser below.

One of the most notable celebrity couples in Korea has decided to call it quits after 10 years.

The star couple Gong Hyo Jin and Ryu Seung Bum confirmed through their agency, Soop Entertainment, that the two individuals had broken up. They’ve decided to remain just friends, and an official statement with the details has been released.

“We dated for 10 years, so in many ways it was time for it to end,” Gong Hyo Jin said. She also denied the rumor that she was involved with her co-star Ha Jung-woo from “Love Fiction.”

“It’s so frustrating that people assume that I’m seeing Jung Woo. Really, if you need a reason, it’s because I just wanted to take some time off from being in a relationship.”

The two had met in 2001 after filming “Splendid Days”. They’ve had an on and off relationship for the past 10 years. Currently, Gong Hyo Jin is preparing for a documentary film release, “577 Project”, while Ryu Seung Bum is filming his new movie “In Berlin”.

On MBC TV’s “Section TV Entertainment News” which aired on June 17, a ranking of the best-suited celebrity couples was revealed.
Taking the No. 1 spot were actors and lovers Gong Hyo Jin and Ryu Seung Bum.

Despite the fact that they were voted the best couple, earlier on a different show, Gong had said that initially she wasn’t attracted to him and that in the early days of courtship the couple fought “all the time.”

Gong made the audience laugh by saying that when her beau was shooting sex scenes, she always went to watch the shoot.

Other entertainer couples to be ranked were singer Se7en and actor Park Han Byul as well as singer Baek Ji Young and actor Jung Suk Won.
