Running Man's Sparta Kim Jong Kook's first ever showcase in Malaysia ended successfully on 14th June 2013 at HGH Convention Centre.

He performed "Today More Than Yesterday" to begin the showcase, he greeted Malaysian fans with "Apa Khabar" and said, "Oh my god! Din't expect so many people to be here, i am surprised that there are so many overseas fans who know us (Running Man)." He then mentioned that he already tried Nasi Lemak and like the hot weather of Malaysia.

When he was asked about dieting, he confidently said," I don't have to, i will exercise every morning". During the game session, Kim Jong Kook shook hands with lucky fans, besides having the chance to play some mini games with him, some fans even had the opportunity to hug him as well.



During the "Dream Girl" session, Kim Jong Kook revealed his ideal girl, huge eyes, darker skin, round face, long hair and a girl who likes to sing etc, 5 fans who qualified to be his dream girl were invited to the stage. He then decided a girl who resembled Janet Jackson to be his dream girl.

In addition, one of the "Dream Girl" contestants had Gary's name printed on her shirt, Kim Jong Kook said," Gary already has girlfriend, is Jihyo!", they are known as the Monday Couple.






Besides local fans,fans from Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Singapore also attended the showcase too, showing his immense popularity.

Following the successful show in Taiwan, Mnet’s ‘M! Countdown’ will be heading in Indonesia this coming July. The first line up has been unveiled for the tour and it is known that popular groups such as Shinhwa, 2PM, B2ST, SECRET, MBLAQ and Kim Jong Kook would be joining the ‘M Countdown Halo-Indonesia’.

‘M Countdown Halo-Indonesia’ will be held at the Mata Elang International Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia on the 3rd of July. A great number of top K-Pop artists will visit the country to meet with the fans. Also, there will be collaboration stages between Korean and Indonesian artists.

May 2nd, Kuala Lumpur- The much-awaited “Tiger” from most popular Korean Variety Show “Running Man”- SPARTA Kim Jong Kook is confirmed to meet with his Malaysiafans on the 14th June, 2013, 8pm in HGH Convention Centre. “Running Man [SPARTA] Kim Jong Kook Showcase Malaysia 2013 is jointly organized by New Pro Star, PMP Entertainment and Running into the Sun.

Ticket sales will officially start on 9th of May 2013 (Thursday) from 10am onwards. All the tickets will be available through the official ticketing agent Ticket Charge except for the VVIP ticket sale that will be conducted by New Pro Star. There are 5 categories of ticket, as below:

““Running Man Sparta" Kim Jong Kook Singapore Fan Meet 2013” showcase had finally come to an end. Kicking start with the first song “Today More Than Yesterday” where the interview starts after that. For more than half of the time during the showcase, he communicates and answers in English. Being asked what is his impression of Singapore, Kim Jong Kook answered there are quite a lot of big trees here in Singaporeand he had tried some of the food in Singapore like the chili crab and chicken rice. The MC continue to asked his impression on Singapore’s girls which he answered “So high!” (Most probably cause of the enthusiasm). 

Right after the short interview, they proceed on to the game session whereby Kim Jong Kook would be playing 3 games together with the lucky fans that were being selected to play with him on stage. The first 2 games are the “Chicken fight” and the “Tug of War” which we would see sometime in the variety show “Running Man” which he is in. During the game, he show his gentleman side towards his fans. During a part of the game, he suddenly asked the MC why is he doing this and the MC replied “So as to please them (the fans) and they would continue to support you for the next 50 years. Is that worth it?” And this follow by him saying yes and continue playing the game. The last game is whereby 3 lucky audiences would be picked out and asked them play a game whereby each have to choose 1 out of 3 given songs – “Men Are All Like That”, “One Man” and “Loveable” and sing a small part of it. The person who sings well would be given a prize. At last, a 6 years old boy manages to win the prize and get a photography session with Kim Jong Kook after singing “All Men Are Like That” on stage.

Being asked about his love life again, Kim Jong Kook replied that he had not met anyone yet. So the MC decided to have a “match making” session whereby girls who fit the criteria read out by the MC were chose to come up stage and confess their love to Kim Jong Kook and he will choose a winner for that round. He end off the whole event by singing “Men Are All Like That”, “Don’t Be Good To Me”, “Letter”, “Saying I Love You”, “Loveable” and an encore stage for “One Man”.

Lee Kwang Soo revealed his affection for his close friend, actor Song Joong Ki.

On January 26th, Lee Kwang Soo shared a photo on his Twitter and wrote, “My friend Joong Ki was always someone like this, he still is, and he will always be like this forever.” He added a post script saying, “A sentimental tweet just before going off to bed.”

In the photos, Lee Kwang Soo and Song Joong Ki are posing for the camera having Kim Jong Kook at the center. The three are snuggling up with each other while giving their bright smiles.

Netizens commented, “They all must be good friends”, “They look great” and “Lee Kwang Soo is a sentimental guy.”

Having recently returned to the music scene with his 7th full album ‘Journey Home’ and title song, “Men Are All Like That”, Kim Jong Kook has just released another single featuring remake tracks.

Released on December 21, Kim Jong Kook’s new digital single titled ‘2012 Remake: Reminiscence’ contains a remake of “Reminiscence” as well as “White Love” featuring Mighty Mouth’s Sangchu.

Kim Jong Kook gave a lecture at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).

Recently, a number of photos titled “Kim Jong Kook’s discourse at KAIST” were uploaded on an online community board. In the pictures, Kim Jong Kook is a handsome speaker in a perfect black suit.

Kim Jong Kook appeared at the prestigious university on December 13 where he gave a special lecture entitled, “Self maintenance and goal setting strategies, and networking know-hows”. He impressed students as he shared his own wealth of experiences as well as took the time to answer the students’ questions.

Netizens who saw the photos commented, “I’m envious of the KAIST students,” “If I had a chance to take a class like that, I would attend it everyday” and “He is so cool when he’s given a lecture too.”

HaHa and Byul finally got married and many famous stars made the trek to celebrate this new couple’s big day!

The wedding ceremony took place at the Grand Ball Room in the 63 Building Seoul’s Yeouido on November 30th at 7PM KST. HaHa’s close friends Kim Jae Dong MCed the ceremony and Kim Jong Kook sang the congratulatory songs.

A great number of top stars attended to celebrate them. Yoo Jae Suk, Jung Hyung Don, No Hong Chul, Jung Jun Ha, Gil, Gary, and Ji Seok Jin, who are all appearing in the same TV shows with HaHa, attended the ceremony to congratulate the couple.

Furthermore, Girls’ Generation’s TaeYeon, YoonA, Wonder Girls’ Sunye and Yenny, Kahi and many other entertainers attended to wish for HaHa and Byul’s happy wedded life.

Haha's official channel uploaded a teaser featuring Byul and Kim Jongkook on November 9th and left fan with curiosity .

The tittle of the teaser is " Byul,Kim Jong Kook collab music drama teaser" and no more information was revealed other than that.The most interesting part is the scene Byul slapped Kim Jong Kook, and you can also hear short parts of both the singers' newest songs from their albums.

It seems they will release a music drama MV later or it's just a promoteional video for their new songs, let's stay tune with Dkpopnews for more information in the future.

Singer Kim Jong Kook has also joined the ‘Anipang’ craze!

On November 4th, a staff member uploaded a photo on his Twitter showing Kim Jong Kook playing the mobile game ‘Anipang’ during his break.

In the photo, Kim Jong Kook seemed completely absorbed on the game that he is not even realizing that he is getting his picture taken.

SBS ‘Running Man’ member Kim Jong Kook has returned to its music root with the release of his 7th full album ‘Journey Home’ featuring the title track, “Men Are All Like That”. Kickstarting his promotions, the singer hit the stage of ‘M! Countdown’ tonight.

“Men Are All Like That” sings about how affectionate feelings end up fading and dying out after a breakup. The music video for the track features actor Song Joong Ki, who made a friendship cameo for free.

One of the most representative voices of the ‘90s, Kim Jong Kook has returned to the music scene with his 7th full album ‘Journey Home’ along with the full music video for title song, “Men Are All Like That”.

Earlier, Kim Joong Kook pre-released the tracks “Men Also Feel Sad” (ft. Mighty Mouth) and “Words I Want To Say To You” (ft. fellow ‘Running Man’ members Gary and HaHa.) This time, actor Song Joong Ki showed his support for the singer by starring in the title song’s music video.
