After a successful season 1, the popular competition show ‘Voice Korea’ will be returning for season 2 with a new roster of coaches. The big names too look forward to are Yoon Sang, Seo In Young, and Yang Yoseob of B2ST.

The upcoming season will shift its focus to zone in more on the younger age group. The coaches are thus expected to show a more humanistic, soft side for the contestants, expected to mostly range from 6-14 years of age.


The head producer for the show, Oh Kwang Suk, explained the reasoning behind the show’s change in direction, noting that while working on shows like ‘Superstar K’ and ‘Voice Korea’, he realized how many talented youngsters there were out there. Thus he wanted a separate show to focus more on this age demographic. Aside from that, the format of the show is expected to be the same as season 1. This will consist of preliminary rounds, followed by the assignment of coaches to each team via blind auditions.

The first episode of season two will air January 4, 2013.

Singer IU appeared on a recent recording of MBC 'Star Audition - The Great Birth 2' and visited the Mentor School of Yoon Sang, her mentor and close friend, to offer her support.

Yoon Sang expressed his delight and told IU, "You're a loyal fellow". IU's arrival also loosened up the tension that pervaded the practice room, with the final evaluation coming up.

IU also said, "I was curious about Yoon Sang's mentees, so I decided to come down and visit the practice venue."

Just before that, the mentees were doing their best to use their 'supernatural powers' to memorise the lyrics that they kept stumbling over. IU marveled in appreciation at the mentees who showed her the song they would be singing and told them, "It's been such a pleasure for my ears today."

This episode involving IU and Yoon Sang's mentees will be broadcasted on Jan 6th at 9:55 PM KST.

Singer/songwriter Yoon Sang revealed that he regrets composing the song ‘Story Only I Didn’t Know’ for IU.

On a recent episode of KBS Prime ‘Lee Geum Hee’s Special Meeting’, Yoon Sang made a guest appearance and expressed, “When I first saw IU on TV, her gaze was downcast” and “Therefore, I composed the ballad ‘Story Only I Didn’t Know’ for her to match that sad expression of hers.”

“But now thinking back about it, I feel slightly sorry for writing such a sad song for IU who has yet to even complete high school. However, this time when we had the chance to work together again for the EXPO 2012 Yeosu Korea theme song, fortunately I had the chance to give her a much brighter image by composing the song ‘Stories of the Sea’ for her,” said Yoon Sang, revealing his affections for his junior, IU.

Meanwhile, shown on this broadcast on May 27th is also the music life story of Yoon Sang for whom it has been 20 years since he debuted as a singer as well as what Sung Si Kyung, Yoon Jung Shin and other stars have to say about Yoon Sang’s image.
