"I'm also at fault for (LeeU) hyung's withdrawal."

Idol group F.CUZ's Kan (21, Choi Younghak) confessed his difficult feelings due to ex-member LeeU's withdrawal.

F.CUZ debuted in 2010 with Jinon, Kan, Yejun, and trot singer Sul Woondo's son LeeU. However, with last year's declaration of LeeU's withdrawal, the trio prepared a new album for one year and added Raehyun and Daegeon as new members. LeeU explained the background at his Japan fanmeeting, saying "We are persuing different musical styles."

F.CUZ, who will be presenting their third mini-album on the 27th, making their first Korean comeback in a while, met with Star News and openly talked about the background of LeeU's withdrawal. Kan, who suffered a severe car accident last year and was hospitalized, confessed that he's "also at fault for the member's withdrawal," attracting attention.

Kan said "when (LeeU) hyung withdrew, my car accident was also involved. I heard the news late, when I was in the hospital. I heard that 'All this happened because of me. Me having an accident grew into a huge incident and caused financial issues.'"

Last year, after finishing filming for SBS Mon-Tue drama "Athena: Goddess of War," the car Kan was riding in experienced an accident in which the car turned over. Due to this accident, Kan's shoulder was dislocated and he needed stitches on his forehead and nose. F.CUZ, who was promoting their follow-up song, had to suddenly halt activities.

"I felt like an obstacle," Kan said. "After I heard, I thought a member was leaving as F.CUZ's promotions were interrupted because of me."

F.CUZ has been very unlucky. Each of their album releases have coincided with the Cheonan incident* that gave the entire nation a shock, swine flu, and the Yeonpyeong Island incident**, thus experiencing many difficulties during their promotions.

Kan said "I broke bones and my face was wounded, requiring surgery. When I came out from surgery, the members were waiting for me. I didn't have the face to look at them, and said 'sorry' and shed tears as soon as I saw them."

Kan said he also had the impulse to commit suicide due to his troubles. Kan, with difficulty, continued "I couldn't stop thinking that I was hurting the members and the company family."

Kan recalls "I kept hearing about it so I wanted to confirm the truth. Because I was at the hospital, my thoughts kept growing, so, thinking that this isn't right, I was discharged from the hospital early and met the members."

When asked "What was the truth," Kan replied "It's false to say it wasn't my fault. But it's not completely my faulth. (LeeU) hyung's parents were also against it, and his musical values were different. There were many reasons but I think I had a difficult time because I kept thinking 'because of me.'"

Kan says he is still in contact with LeeU. There is no friction with the members either. It's true that I was hurt and disappointed (because of the withdrawal), but the best I can do is pray for us to be successful on our own paths."

F.CUZ, now a 5-member group after LeeU left, will release their their mini-album 'F.CUZ' (For Century Ultimate Zest) on the 27th, and start anew. Their title song 'NO.1' is a dubstep song by Monday Kiz's leader Lee Jinsung and Melodin Junyoung.

F.CUZ, which used to have four members, has attempted a change into five members. After ex-member LeeU left, new members Daegeon and Raehyun were added to the original members Jinon, Kan, and Yejun to form a five-membered group.

Breaking a hiatus of a year and 5 months, F.CUZ is releasing a new mini-album ‘F.CUZ (For Century Ultimate Zest).’ They recently met with NewsEn in an interview, in which they stated that their priority was to properly introduce their two new members

When asked what they did while out of sight, F.CUZ revealed that they visited Japan for vocal and dance training and upon returning to Korea, prepared an album as a new F.CUZ with Daegeon and Raehyun. Though it was a long hiatus, it was not a vacation for them.

Excluding Daegeon, four of the members went to Anyang Arts High School and were already close. Because of this, Raehyun had no difficulty adjusting to the situation, and Daegeon also adjusted to the team as well. Leader Jinon bragged about his members, saying “They were hoobaes (T/N: opposite of “sunbae” = senior) that I’d been watching. Yejun and Kan took their auditions together and debuted together, while Raehyun was famous in school for his acting.”

F.CUZ added new members due to the decision for LeeU’s withdrawal. Raehyun, who had a lot of acting experience but could not give up his dream of becoming a singer, took an audition for F.CUZ’s new member but experienced the shame of being rejected at first.

“I wanted to become a singer but I had no connections but when I thought about it, I had two close friends (Yejun, Kan) so I called Yejun. After saying hello and talking, I felt pity for F.CUZ, who had suffered a lot. Yejun said there would be no privileges for being friends. I didn’t expect that, and I was filled with confidence. Like that, I took an audition early last year but I was rejected at first and was hurt. Wounded at the assessment that I could not sing or act, I practiced a lot to sharpen and clean up my skills. Feeling prepared, I called again. As the members were not picked yet, I asked for another chance. That time, I did well at the audition, passed, and am here now” (Raehyun).

Daegeon’s debut was rough. He was a member of Xing, which B2ST’s Yong Junhyun brightened up, and was also a part of a 21-member boy group. He spoke about his past, “In Xing, I felt that I debuted while unprepared because I did not take preparations seriously. I left the group thinking that I should prepare perfectly before debuting. I attended practical music classes and dance classes for half a year to raise my confidence and started looking for auditions. I auditioned to be F.CUZ’s new member and passed in one try.”

Jinon, who was listening to the two members’ stories, hinted, “Although the audition was informal, many people went passed it. Many people thought we chose two friends, made them practice, and came back but we held auditions in the countryside and met many friends. I think 500~600 people passed it. Other than these two, there was one other person. They competed in a survival competition and the two members were decided.”

As they didn’t know who would stay and who would be rejected out of the three, Daegeon revealed his nervous feelings of the time, “I could not let my mind rest because I was practicing, left, and was practicing again.” He also said that he and Raehyun would check on each other.

Jinon, who was thinking of the practicing period, said “They didn’t speak to each other a lot during the competition. Because it was survival, the three did not speak to each other. I was thankful that they were working hard but it was also funny. It wasn’t a situation where we could relax either. We were also practicing as they were.” He revealed the story that the road of the F.CUZ of today was a lot more competitive than predicted.

[Hanako #1011 BLAQ in My Heart]

-Group interview-

MBLAQ who stands out with unique concept "sexy vampires" finally on Hanako with their 2nd single "Baby U!".
We'll introduce you their unique characters.

- You had many schedules in Japan in 2011. Could you tell us what you worked hard on the most?
G.O: Shall we introduce the effort made by the person sitting next to ourselves?
- Yes, please!
G: Cheondung took a part in writing lyrics for "Baby U!". He researched what kind of songs are appreciated
in Japan, and also bought many magazines to study fashion.
Cheondung: I was curious what kind of songs and outfits Japanese fans like.
Well, I'll talk about Mir then. Mir always checked weather forecast before coming to Japan,
and advised us "It seems freezing. You better bring your coat". It helped a lot.
He also monitored Japanese tv programs and shared some information with us.
G.O: During recording of "Baby U!", Mir checked our Japanese pronunciation too. Especially "Again" is
slow ballad, so we paid attention to pronunciation. Mir was the most serious one as if it was his solo track lol.
Thanks to him, we made a great piece.
- Mir, please tell us about Joon!
Mir: Since MBLAQ is still newbie in Japan, we better get used to activities in Japan. So Joon researched
other Japanese groups made their debut at the same time as us. He told us about the fellow artists
on the train the other day.
- Such as?
Joon: It's...secret lol.
- What a pity! You really seem to have own roles.
Joon: Yes, we do. You'll be surprised even more after hearing what Seungho worked hard on.
Seungho studied what kind of mechanics and tools Japanese artists are using. He knows very well about it.
- Really?
Seungho: Most of them are using Pro Tools. I've just started to learn how to use it. And also Sonar is also popular.
I'm obsessed with mechanics so I looked around and checked which brand's tools they have in studio while recording.
- That's amazing. Now please introduce G.O's episode.
Seungho: G.O cared a lot about outfits. While we were shopping, he said "can we wear this on the stage?" and
kept looking for accessories or clothing which only can be purchased in Japan. He even called an apparel company for inquiry.
We can ask G.O anything about fashion.
G.O: The outfits for "Baby U!" are also full of my ideas.
- Lastly, please tell us a summary of 2011 and new year's resolution.
Seungho: In 2011, we made our effort and grew up well as a group. The good thing is, we did continue to work
both in Japan and Korea at the same time. We'll work harder and show you different charms in 2012.
Hopefully we will have an asia tour.

-Individual interview-

[Cheondung]

Cheondung is into composing songs lately.
"I like creating songs by my sense in an hour and half.
I don't try too hard when nothing comes up. That's the key to create good songs."

In "Baby U!", he also wrote rap lyrics in Korean.
"I wrote it referring to my experience. I always feel if I confess someone my feeling, she would go away.
Once my feeling towards the girl I liked was leaked by my friend and she took distance from me.
So I'm an expert at one-sided love who doesn't have courage to tell her my feeling.
I can write tons of songs for that lol."

To widen the range of words for lyrics, he also listens to friends' experience.
"Even though I listen to many episodes from my friends, I don't fully understand till I experience myself.
I wonder if I would be a better song writer after having relationship. Someday I want to write a love song
based on my own experience."

[Joon]

Joon said "Our relationship with Japanese fans improved lately".
"Soon after we debuted, our communication was awkward but we learned a lot more Japanese words in past 6 months
and now feel much closer to them".

On the stage, Joon flashes his abs and attracts fans with his sexiness, but he is actually
so natural and kind to make people around him feel eased.
"I love space" he said with sparkling eyes and started to point out what is so good about it.
"I was interested in something uncertain like the seven wonders of the world or deep sea.
It lead me to become curious about space. We don't know what is there outside the solar system.
If you think in such a large field of view, the earth is only a tiny spot.
When I think of space, all my worries or thoughts seem to be tiny things which makes me feel at ease.
At the same time, it makes me realise the present is the most important. I'll focus on what I should do
and want to achieve my goals.

[G.O]

G.O started to write songs 1 year ago. While trying to make good environment for it, the other thing caught his interests...
"I was changing layout for the room to make it easier to compose songs, then I became interested in interior more and more.
Changing curtains or doing a little changeover are what I enjoy on holidays."

By composing in a comfortable room, G.O would be the one to lead MBLAQ in their own music.
"As long as I work as a musician, I always wanted to be able to compose myself. So I worked really hard last year.
I gained some knowledge and I came to deeply think of MBLAQ's originality more."

Do you see Cheondung as a rival for being able to compose songs?
"I don't see him that way. Cheondung is good at composing dance music and I like melodious pop music.
We work on different style, so if each of our skills improve more, it means MBLAQ gains more charms."

[Mir]

Mir reveals the feeling while resting due to his back injury.
"I suffered mentally more than physically. While I was taking break, MBLAQ kept promoting both in Japan and Korea,
but I couldn't join. I saw Seungho was doing rap part for me on the music program and felt deeply sorry
to members. "

He looks cheerful and and being dorky, but he is actually very sensitive inside. He was reading a book while
short break during shooting which was quite impressive.
"I read a book per week. What I'm reading now is "SCHNEEWITTCHEN MUSS STERBEN" written by a German writer Nele Neuhau.
I always show my dorky side on the show, so staffs are always surprised at me reading lol."

So he also wants to date a girl who loves reading?
"A girl who can draw. I think it's really beautiful to see someone drawing pictures.
I want her to draw portrait of me everyday."

[Seungho]

Fixing gadgets is very significant in many hobbies Seungho has. Of course he can handle connecting cables
which most of girls hate dealing with it.
"I receive many inquiries on twitter as if I'm a call center. I liked fixing mechanics since I was a kid.
I used to break everything into parts, and fix them back. Once my fan's car was broken in front of me
and I managed to fix it."

He looks so kind. But as being a charismatic leader of MBLAQ, he was taken as "scary" personality when they made
their debut.
"I said I have atmosphere not easy to talk to and didn't show me smiling. Even fans asked me "are you angry?" lol. But I turned into brighter personality these days. We got to meet many fans through our debut in Japan, so I think it helped a lot. I'm not scary, I'm nice a person". he said in Japanese
