Actor Choi Daniel has replaced Kim Moo Yul, who has been asked to leave his role due to controversy, for the lead role in the movie “AM11:00.”

The announcement came on July 10, just hours ahead of the film’s good luck celebrations attended by cast and crew.

“Filming was to begin in less than a week; Kim Moo Yul’s dismissal was therefore a big deal as they needed someone to replace him as quickly as possible,” said a spokesperson from the movie.

Apparently, the movie people had a lot of convincing to do before Choi decided to get on board the project. Choi’s ties to the director Kim Hyun-seok are thought to be a crucial factor in the actor sealing the deal.

The two worked together on Cyrano Agency back in 2010 -- the film was a stepping stone into the spotlight for Choi.

AM11:00 is a sci-fi thriller about a situation that unfolds in the lives of researchers when a time machine malfunctions.

Actor Choi Daniel appeared on an episode of tvN’s “Baek Ji-yeon’s People Inside” and vented his feelings on the significance of tertiary education.

Choi, who deferred his studies after a semester of attending Chungwoon University in Chungnam, South Chungcheong, said that he only enrolled in the institution “for experience.”

“When I was seriously contemplating a future in acting in my final year of high school, someone said that I should to go university so that I can get a feel for the place and experience living and being part of an organization,” Choi said.

The actor followed suit and when asked about his time there he said, “It’s a place where you should be there on your free will,” before adding that a lot of people attend in order to meet the invisible requirements that society puts on young people to attain higher education.

“If you are dead sure about what you want out of life, I don’t think going to university is the best idea. It’s one option, but not the only option in life,” said the 26-year-old actor.

He also expressed his regret at staying at the institution longer than necessary “because I felt pressured to, and you do become complacent with the life on campus.”

In the second episode of SBS TV’s The Musical, which aired on the 9th, Bae Kang Hee (played by Ok Joo Hyun) visited Hong Jay (played by Choi Daniel) after Ko Eun Bi (played by Ku Hye Sun)’s audition.

Jay opened the door expecting Eun Bi, but Kang Hee was there. Kang Hee wore a smile and kissed him saying, “Long time no see.”

Jay compared Eun Bi with Kang Hee by saying, “I guess you’ve heard? I knew that you’d come and tell me about her audition. She makes me think a lot. She has the same energy as Kang Hee, but has a different color.”

Listening to what Jay is saying, Kang Hee walked up to Jay. Jay gave her the tea cup. Kang Hee says, “I believe that I was one of the reasons you stopped doing musical; if you decide to come back, I think that it should be done with me. There is a young businessman who is investing heavily on our theater.” and offered Jay a job.

Kang Hee seduced Jay even on her way out. She kept asking Jay to promise her and kissed him on the cheeks.

Choi Daniel rode a train to pick Eun Bi up from her home, and gave her a surprise kiss on the way back together.

The drama "The Musical" is drifting.

"The Musical" (written by Kim Hee-jae and directed by Kim Kyeong-yong) with actress Koo Hye-seon and Choi Daniel in the lead has stopped shooting without finishing, it started shooting last August and has done through 6 months but it still remains unfinished.

Koo Hye-seon and Choi Daniel who are the lead characters in this drama have already been put into something else. Koo Hye-seon is in the middle of "Peach Tree" and Choi Daniel has been cast for KBS 2TV new drama series "Pretty Young Woman" (written by Oh Seon-hyeong, produced by Lee Jin-seo). This drama will be broadcast in May and will end around July.

The one main reason "The Musical" couldn't find its place is because it couldn't form a ground wave. The actor and actress couldn't just continue waiting for it to get back up and running again so they started off on something else without completing the drama. A spokesperson from a broadcasting company said, "The broadcasting company is allowed to accommodate only so many dramas but outsourcing productions can produce many more. Therefore it is only so that some projects just can't get drawn up because the production times interlock".

An outsourcing productions chairman explained, "If we manage to form a ground wave the investments will also be smoothed out. However if it doesn't form, the investment will be difficult to maintain and might cause a shortage in production fees.

Dalmatian’s member Daniel faced humiliation from Lee Yoon Suk.

Aired on the 20th, a surprising face made an appearance on the special episode ‘master of ramyun’ in KBS 2TV’s “Happy Sunday – Qualification of Men.” The face was the six-member group Dalmatian’s vocalist Daniel. Daniel was the only celebrity aside from the members of the “Qualification of Men” team which brought a lot of attention.

However, Lee Yoon Suk, who was also competing with him in the same group, gave humiliation to Daniel, causing a roar of laughter. Upon seeing Daniel, he asked, “Are you a model?” in which Daniel replied, “I’m Daniel of Dalmatian.”

When he heard his answer, Lee Yoon Suk confused it in thinking that he was going to put a Dalmatian in his ramyun cooking. Feeling sympathetic for him, the PD of “Qualification of Men” told him, “He’s a singer. He’s in a group called Dalmatian.” Finally understanding his answer, he quickly apologized in the sea of laughter.

Lee Yoon Suk, who normally is out of the loop when it comes to the incoming hoobaes (like alumnis) in the industry, said, “I was just thinking about ramyun the whole time, so I was shocked in thinking that they put Dalmatian meat in ramyun.”

Meanwhile, Daniel made a ramyun yongole, inspired by yongole pasta, as he gained good reviews for his idea and taste by the judges but Lee Yoon Suk’s yogurt ramyun took the win in advancing to the next round.
