Following the discharge of actor Lee Jun-ki from the military, much attention is being focused on other male stars expected to make their returns this year.

Lee first enlisted back on May 3, 2010, having served in the public relations department in the Ministry of National Defense. He was recently discharged on February 16th, and has already been busy with a fan meeting on the same day at Sang Myung University. 2,000 of his fans came out to greet him.

Along with Lee will be actor Lee Dong-gun, making his entertainment comeback in March of this year. Kim Tae-hee's younger brother, Lee Wan will be discharged soon after in April. Lee Wan first caught the public's eye with his role in the hit drama "Stairway To Heaven" in 2003.

Kim Nam-gil will be released from his duties as a public service worker at the Gangnam-gu office in Seoul in July. He's most noted for his work in "Queen Seondeok" in 2009.

Kang Dong-won will then finish his military duties in November, after having served at the Research Institue of Public Health & Environment. After soaring to top status in "Secret Reunion", Kang has been particularly secretive with his activities during the past two years, making fans all the more excited for his return.

Other stars that fans can look forward to this year include Kim Ji-seok, Kim Ji-hoon, Cho Han-sun, Park Hyo-shin, Super Junior's Kang-in, and Epik High's Mithra Jin.

The chiseled features of actors Jang Dong-gun and Song Hye-kyo are the most popular models for plastic surgery, a straw poll suggests. Job search site Career polled 638 workers and the biggest group of men chose Jang and biggest group of women Song.

Jang was chosen by 25.1 percent, followed by 19.2 percent who wanted to look like
Jung Woo-sung. Zo In-sung and So Ji-sub followed with 14.7 and 12.1 percent, trailed by Lee Seung-gi (9.8), Kim Nam-gil (8.1), and Nichkhun (5.9) from boy band 2PM.

Among women, 23 percent picked Song, and 17.5 percent chose Han Ga-in. Son Ye-jin and Kim Tae-hee were third and fourth with 14.5 and 11.5 percent.

Some 11.9 percent of the respondents said they had or plan to have plastic surgery in the summer vacations this year. Nearly half said they had surgery for the sake of a better chance at promotion or a better job. In a multiple-answer question, 71.6 percent of the respondents answered the purpose of plastic surgery is to boost confidence and self-satisfaction. Some 56.9 percent said they had or would have surgery for marriage or to find love, while 47.4 percent said surgery did or would bring smoother interpersonal relationships.

In another multiple-answer question, 27.6 percent said they would most want plastic surgery on their eyes, and 21.6 percent on their nose. Facial contours or jaw line were chosen by 19 percent, skin and wrinkle care by 18, liposuction by 15.5 and dental braces by 14.7 percent.

Korean actor Lee Wan serving in the military [Republic of Korea Army website]

Photographs of actors Lee Wan and Kim Nam-gil, who entered a training camp last week as part of fulfilling their mandatory military duties, have been released.

The Nonsan military camp in South Chungcheong Province on Monday posted pictures of the actors on its official website (http://www.army.mil.kr) in the section titled 'Search for Faces We Miss.'

In the group photos, both actors are seen posing with fellow trainee soldiers in their military uniform with their right hand clenched into a fist.

Lee, whose real name is Kim Hyung-soo, made his debut in the hit TV series "Stairway to Heaven" (SBS, 2003), which starred Hallyu stars Kwon Sang-woo, Choi Ji-woo and his sister Kim Tae-hee.

The 26-year-old actor had been looking for a new acting project when he was notified by the government to enlist. Lee entered the army on July 12 and will receive five weeks of training at Nonsan.

Kim, 29, became a household name last year playing the role of Bidam in MBC's historical drama "Queen Seon-deok" alongside top Korean actress Ko Hyun-jung.

The actor was in the middle of shooting the SBS TV series "Bad Boy" when he received a notification to report to military by July 15. He tried to defer his military entrance date in order to wrap up the shoot for the series, but was unable to do so as he had already asked for deferment back in March.

Kim shot all his scenes for "Boy" by July 13 and entered the military two days later. He will receive four weeks of basic training at Nonsan and then work as a public service worker for the next two years.

one vote for shayne kay would be so much appreciated ^^

With just one day of rest after wrapping up filming on his drama Bad Guy, actor Kim Nam-gil began his military life on July 15. He reported to the Chungnam, Nonsan, training center on Thursday afternoon, where he will undergo four weeks of training.

In addition to recent injuries (such as the hernia he was reportedly suffering), Kim was in a car accident in 2003 and suffered significant injuries including a ruptured ligament in his right knee. As a result, he has been assigned to work in the public sector for the duration of his service, which is a less physically strenuous assignment than active duty.

It’s a little jarring to see him looking so different when his drama is still ongoing — especially when the character he portrays has such as strong image. With all his hair shaved off and dressed down, he looks like a dorky little boy, not the suave, calculating mastermind.

As a result of Kim’s draft notice, the drama production scrambled to complete filming on time but in the end opted to cut the length from 20 planned episodes to 17.

Kim Nam-gil debuted in 2003 and initially acted under the screen name Lee Han. He’s credited as that in Lovers, Goodbye Solo, and a few other early projects, but decided to revert to his real name a couple years ago, which he felt was more true to himself. He shot to fame as Bi-dam in last year’s Queen Seon-deok.
