However, all 3,600 tickets to “XIA 1st Asia Tour in Taiwan” were sold out, which proves his extreme popularity. The organizers dished up Chicken chop, Xiao Long Bao, Pineapple cakes, Chinese Rice Dumplings and fruits for Kim Junsu to taste. He said, “I already had a cup of bubbletea in the hotel and watermelon.” Looking at the table of delicacies, he happily used Mandarin and said, “Xiao Long Bao”, which caused the media to smile. He devoured the delicacies and posed for pictures with the Chinese rice dumpling in accordance with the Duan Wu festival in Taiwan.

The other two members of JYJ, Kim Jaejung and Park Yuchun have expanded and crossed over to the drama department while Kim Junsu has dazzled in musicals. Asked about his male on male kiss while acting as Death in the musical Elisabeth, he truthfully said, “I was a little worried at first, but once I thought that Death is neither male nor female, I could embrace the role and didn’t think that it was weird.”

His first solo album has sold over 120,000 copies. Kim Junsu explained the special name by saying that it is like a spell that causes people to dance to their heart’s content. In the MV, Kim Junsu showed his dancing prowess and his sexy figure pleased fans. He became shy when he heard that, and expressed that he had never wanted to show so much skin, but because he unbuttoned his top when he was resting, the director said that it was good, and the results after filming were satisfactory.

JYJ’s Kim Junsu poses with Rice dumplings in accordance with festival in Taiwan; Unfazed by questions about male-on-male kiss.

Looking at this man with a head of grey hair, could it be that Stephen Chow has arrived in Taiwan? Turn to the front, and it’s JYJ’s Kim Junsu. He has left behind Jae Jung and Yuchun and has come to Taiwan today (June 22) for his solo concert tomorrow night at Taiwan University’s sports hall. He is extremely popular even by himself as all 3600 tickets have already been sold out and he also attracted over 200 fans to the airport. The fans screamed their lungs out once they saw Junsu.

His solo album came out in May, but because of the fact that he was contractual disputes with SM Entertainment and has since left TVXQ!, there are rumors that he has been black-listed which renders him unable to promote his album on TV programs.

Reporter: Do you want to participate in variety programs?
Host: As you know, some variety programs…He…He.. maybe you already know…He can’t touch them. She meant in Korea. I’m sorry but we have to pass this question.
Junsu: ?????

The translator was not even given the chance to translate the question but it already got pushed aside by the host. Cry. We can ask Junsu about his feelings with regards to the male-on-male kiss in the musical, right?

Junsu: “Death is a character with a neutral gender. Death can be both male or female. Not only does Death kiss Elisabeth, but he/she also kissed Rudolf. This scene proves that Death does not have a gender. I embraced my character as Death, so I didn’t think it was weird.”

After the release of his first formal solo album, XIA Junsu, who is currently busy with his album activities, is going to release the MV (DANCE VERSION) of the title track—TARANTALLEGRA.

C-Jes, Kim Junsu’s management company, said that, “The dance version is to introduce more of the album to overseas fans amid the Asia tour. The MV released previously has created a whole new style through magical, fantastic visual effect and Junsu’s homme fatale charm, while the new MV is going to concentrate on Junsu’s dance. Junsu’s extraordinary dance performance will be seen in this new music video."

Working together with Jeri Slaughter, a famous US choreographer who used to work for Christina Aguilera’s, Junsu perfectly mastered the brand-new dance style and once again produced a high-level MV that is rare in South Korea.

The director of the mv said, “If the existing MV attracts people by showing Junsu’s homme fatale charm, the dance version mv will focus more on group dance, making it more attractive. The MV is not a continuation of the existing one but a whole new one."

Meanwhile, beginning with concerts in Seoul and Bangkok, album activities such as fansigns and other ways to communicate directly with fans are going on for Junsu to express gratitude to his fans. The dance version will be officially released via JYJ’s OFFICIAL YOUTUBE CHANNEL on JUNE 11TH.

Fresh off of his first solo album JYJ’s Xia Junsu shows off a daring and darker side in “Tarantallegra.” Talk about one hell of a way to bust out on his own….
Debuting with a side of JYJ we haven’t seen before, this is a bold step for Junsu. We’re guessing his flair for the macabre came from his time as Death in Elisabeth. Junsu’s androgynous sexuality (that was him in the wig wasn’t it?) is both in-your-face and unapologetic. And while we’re not really sure where Junsu was going with all of this, we liked how he got there. This fiercely sexy video shows that C-Jes Entertainment has a few things to say about Junsu’s well known “angel” image. Where Jeri Slaughter’s choreography shows a bolder, sexier Junsu not seen since his “Intoxication” days (the Korean version of “Intoxication”on the album notwithstanding), Aziatix member Flowsik’s rap blends with his lyrical finesse. Lilting electronic vocals mixed with a dark cello, coupled with a mix of interracial back-up dancers, show’s C-Jes’ obvious nod toward international audiences. As if the word “Tarantallegra,” Harry Potter‘s i.e. dancing curse, wasn’t international enough.
We’re interested if South Korea is ready to handle Junsu’s ambitious debut. We’re also interested in what you think, so check out the video and leave your comments below.

‘Some of men’s restroom doorplates were changed due to lack of women’s restrooms’
Kim Junsu, who gathers female fans like clouds for each musical performance, even changed restrooms of the theater.
As the ladies rooms of the Theater Bluesquare in Seoul reached the staturation point by female audience
during the intermission of the Musical ‘Elisabeth’, in which Kim Junsu acts as ‘Tod’, on last 15th, the Theater opened men’s restrooms on the first basement level (the first floor of the auditorium) to women. The resident manager of the theatre asked the male audience, who got restrained from entering the restroom, to “understand the situation as Kim Junsu appears in today’s performance.”
Although the Theater, which opened in last Novemeber, had realized there is a large number of female audience during domestic musical performences and increased capaity of women’s restrooms, it was not enough for Kim Junsu’s performance. The capacity of women’s restrooms of this theater has the highest standard in Korea with the rate of 25.9 seats per 1 female toilet while Charlotte Theater in Jamsil, Seoul has the rate of 33.5 seats per 1 female toilet.
This ‘plight’ had occurred because all the tickets of Kim Junsu’s performances were sold out and most of them were females. Interpark, the site for purchasing tickets, stated that the rate of female purchasers of Kim Junsu’s ‘Elisabeth’ shows has exceeded little over 99%, and it is unapralleled in history of musical in larger theater in Korea even if female purchaser would take males to the performance.
All of 31,960 tickets for Kim Junsu’ 20 performances of musical ‘Elisabeth’ were sold out in around ten minutes. His shows are also considered as the only shows in which ticket touting occurs. There was a report that a ticket originally worth 150,000won is traded as 100,000yen (approx. 1,440,000won) in Japan. The Theater rents out around 100 opera glasses per show; howevever, the Theater plans to buy additional glasses as they run out in an instant for Kim Junsu’s shows.
