[INTERVIEW] So Young aspires to be a great actress

Actress So Young recently sat down for an interview with ’Break News’ and discussed about her upcoming drama, After School and aspiration.

Interviewer: At the 2012 Jeonju International Film Festival you wore a dress that became a hot topic online. Do you understand why?

So Young: I did not dream it would become a big topic. I was puzzled, I really appreciate the public’s interest.

Interviewer: You are going to appear in the Channel A drama ‘Miss Panda & Hedgehog’, Tell us a bit about it.

So Young: The drama is a romantic comedy, filled with really funny and entertaining content.

Interviewer: When you left After School there were many speculations and rumors. How come you didn’t respond?

So Young: There were a variety of reasons. As I said several times throughout the years… Here I would like to say no more.

Interviewer: Do you have regrets withdrawing from After School? Are you still in touch with the members?

So Young: I want to feel the emotions I felt on stage, once again, of course. But I did not regret withdrawing even once. I met Kahi again filming ’Dream High 2′ and I also keep in touch with the other members.

Interviewer: What actor do you respect? Who do you have as a role model?

So Young: I respect Kim Hae-sook….she has appeared in a lot of work I want to learn from. Son Ye-jin is a role model. I want to be an actress with various colors including cute, sexy, charismatic and pure to grow as a wonderful actress like Son Ye-jin.

Interviewer: A male actor you admire?

So Young: (Without hesitation) Cha Seung Won. Because of the MBC drama ‘The Greatest Love’.

Interviewer: What is your entertainment desire (aspiration)? Is there anything you want to do differently?

So Young: In the future, I hope to continue to live as an actor…so far I have only showed a youthful appearance…I want to show a variety of charms in the fine arts…I will try very hard to do my best.

[NEWS] So Young doesn’t regret withdrawal from After School

So Young recently sat down with ‘TV Report’ and in the interview she stated she has never ‘regretted the withdrawal’ from After School.

When news of So Young’s ‘graduation’ from After School was revealed, health and academic reasons were cited as the cause. Various rumors for So Young’s exit from the group were also spread online which caused great interest from netizens.

A major rumor regarding her ‘graduation’ is that So Young was bullied into leaving the group. In a recent televison broadcast So Young commented on her withdrawal and joked that Kahi was stern which made the subject a hot topic again. This is a rumor So Young has called ‘ridiculous‘ and was surpised by this speculation when it arose three years ago.

Even though So Young has made statements in the past dispelling the bullying rumors, they continue to follow her. Because of Kahi’s ‘graduation’ announcement and their recent appearances together in the drama ‘Dream High 2′, interest in So Young’s relationship with the After School members has increased. When asked she answered that she ‘remained friends‘ and has “strong ties with the members“.

At the end of the interview So Young stated with extreme emphases, “at the end of this interview I hope that the controversy ends” regarding the bullying rumors.

In August, So Young will appear in the anticipated drama ‘Miss Panda & Hedgehog‘.

[NEWS] Yoo Soyoung talks about sufferings after leaving After School

A former member of After School, Yoo Soyoung, appeared on an episode of “The Chair Korea” yesterday and talked about her aspirations as an actress as well as the pain she suffered when breaking away from the girl group.

On the show, Yoo said that she wanted to be taken as a serious actress and do away with the label of being a girl group singer.

In regards to her future ambitions, Yoo said that she’d love to star in a melodrama with actors Zo In-sung and Song Joong Ki. “I’d like to play a role where the two actors both play my love interests,” said Yoo.

When the host probed Yoo about her time with the girl group, Yoo joked that the group’s leader Kahi gave her a difficult time. “Because she’s the head honcho, there were times when she had to be stern, so I did get a few menacing looks from her when I stepped out of line.”

The 26-year-old said that following her resignation from the band in 2010, the rumors surrounding the scandal caused her distress. “People made it sound like I was ostracized by the group and I was really hurt,” she said.

Fans were quite surprised to see her perfect S-line as they did not expect her to be adorable and sexy at the same, a huge contrast compared to the character she played in Dream High 2

[News] Former AS member SoYoung to appear in Dream High 2

After School former member Yoo So Young has been cast in Dream High 2.
Dream High 2 representative on December 14 said in TV Report interview, “Yoo So Young will appear as a student in Dream High 2.”

Aside from student role, no other details have been disclosed. The production staff is still in the process of finalizing the characters.

Netizens show interest as SoYoung and Kahi will both show their acting skills. The representative also said, "Kahi's role is a teacher and SoYoung as a student, therefore the two won't be competing in their roles."

Back in 2009, SoYoung graduated from After School and had been in hiatus after that. She made appearance as an actress in KBS’s drama series The Women of Our Home. In this, Dream High 2 will be her 2nd drama series and people are anticipating for her acting.

Dream High 2 will premiere on January 30 next year.

After School Graduate Yoo So Young shares a picture (VIA TWITTER) showing that she is a close friend of Super Junior’s Yesung.

On August 19, Yoo So Young tweeted a picture and stated.. “After finishing photo shoots, I visited Yesung’s coffee shop “Handel and Gretel!” "It’s such a pretty shop, with the best drinks sold. I took a picture inside my car because there were too many people in the shop. My best wishes to Yesung!”

“Handel and Gretel” is a coffee shop run by Yesung’s parents. In the picture, So Young is wearing red and white striped shirt, smiling at the camera with a cute expression giving a warm feeling for fans.

So Young Graduated in After School on October 29th, 2009 due to her health issues and is now pursuing her dream to be an actress.

Meanwhile, So Young is currently busy with photo shoots and her drama that is currently airing in KBS TV titled The Women of Our Home.
