Lee Byung Hun’s domestic film ‘Masquerade’ (Korean title "Gwanghae: The Man Who Became King") which has been dominating the box office, has dominated the 29th Grand Bell Awards as well.

The awards took place on October 30th, presenting a total of 23 awards in many different categories. Out of the 23, the movie starring Lee Byung Hun took home 15 awards, for the best picture, director, lead male actor, supporting male actor, costume, art, music, sound effects, popularity, lighting, editing, production, scenario, filming, and video effects.

The remaining winners for the night included actress Cho Min Soo for Best Lead Female Actress in the movie ‘Pieta’, Kim Hae Sook for Best Supporting Female Actress in ‘The Thieves’, Kim Sung Gyun for Best Male Rookie Actor in ‘Neighbor’, Kim Go Eun for Best Female Rookie Actress in ‘A Muse’, Choi Jiyeon for Best Short Film for ‘Woman’, Choi Jong Tae for Best New Director for ‘Hand In Hand’, and Kim Ki Deok for Judges’ Special Award for ‘Pieta’.

The mobster who tried to blackmail Lee Byung Hun back in 2009 has been booked for attempting to extort money out of the Hallyu actor.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office said yesterday that it had indicted the gang member who joined forces with Lee’s ex-girlfriend to blackmail Lee with a medical record that showed that Lee’s ex, a Korean-Canadian gymnast, had an abortion.

The athlete had vented to the mobster, surnamed Jang, about her ex-lover after they parted ways, and the gangster agreed to help her out by threatening Lee that he’d tarnish the star’s image by releasing pictures and medical records.

It wasn’t only Lee who suffered. His uncle, the head of his entertainment agency and his manager received threats from Jang.

Through its investigation, the police tracked down Jang, who is the head of a gang based in Seoul and has had trouble with the law in the past.

Actor Lee Byung Hun, who established himself as Hollywood star in the film “G.I. Joe”, will star in another Hollywood production.

According to BH Entertainment, Lee Byung Hun will work with “G.I. Joe 2” co-star Bruce Willis once more for “Red 2”. The film is a sequel to the film “Red”, which Bruce had star as a former black-ops agent.

In the sequel, Lee Byung Hun will be joining other Hollywood A-listers including Catherine Zeta-Jone, and former cast members John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker and Helen Mirren.

According to Summit Entertainment, “‘Red 2’ brings back the team of retired CIA operatives as they use their old-school style to take on a new set of enemies all across Europe.”

Actors Lee Byung Hun and Ahn Sungki will leave their hand prints at the “Walk of Fame” on the forecourt of Mann’s Chinese Theatre on June 23 during their participation in a Korean film festival held in Hollywood, California.

Until now, Hong Kong director John Woo is the only Asian celebrity to have left his prints there, making the two Koreans the first actors from the region to do so.

Opened in 1927, the theater used to host the Academy Awards. It remains a famous sightseeing spot, with the streets outside featuring the hand and foot prints of some 250 stars and directors including Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe and Harrison Ford.

The host of the festival, Look East, said that Lee was selected as the first Asian actor to leave his prints there because he has emerged as a rising star in Hollywood due to his role in the “G.I. Joe” series. Veteran actor Ahn Sungki was recommended by the Korean Film Producers Association.

Look East, founded by Korean-American film producer Martha Chang, said it decided to inaugurate the film festival this year to promote Asian culture and films. Star directors like Quentin Tarantino and Oliver Stone will attend, it added.

As her former colleague and producer Elli Samaha purchased Mann’s Chinese Theater in June last year, Chang reserved the right to take care of Asian actors’ hand printing events there for five years from 2012, and selected Ahn and Lee as the first invitees.

Both considered top notch actors in Korean entertainment, the rumor mill has been abuzz about latest reports indicating Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung are dating.

One media source reported on April 16th that the 42-year-old actor and the 30-year-old actress had good opinions of each other from earlier this year, and had cautiously starting dating. After bumping into one another at various award ceremonies and other work-related gatherings, their sunbae-hoobae (or senior-junior) work relationship blossomed into a romantic relationship.

Another source added fuel to the fire, quoting sources close to the two stars, saying that the two were even considering marriage! The report said that the cose sources said only a few of the stars' closest group knew about their relations and that they limited their dates to near Lee Byung Hun's house to avoid the public's eye.

When each of the stars’ respective agencies were questioned on the rumors, they both denied the dating rumors.

Lee Byung Hun’s BH Entertainment said that the rumors were groundless. Regarding rumors of the actor having invited the actress to his house to meet with his family, BH Entertainment said that Lee did indeed invite Lee Min Jung over, but it was for a get-together with other movie officials.

The young actress’s management, MS Team Entertainment stated that after contacting Lee directly, she flat out denied the rumors saying the two simply have a sunbae-hoobae relationship. Lee did say that the two stars met for meals, but it wasn’t a one-on-one encounter, but a meal with others.

Lee Byung Hun is currently busy filming the drama “Joseon King” alongside actress Han Hyo-joo, while Lee Min Jung will be making her comeback in the drama “Big” with Gong Yoo and miss A’s Suzy.

The high-profile wedding of entertainer Lee Eun Hee, sister of Hallyu actor Lee Byung Hun, took place on Sunday at The Raum Center in Cheongdam-dong, southern Seoul, as planned.

On the following day, the SBS morning program "Good Morning" revealed the festivities that took place outside the venue as well as behind the scenes.

Despite the media frenzy surrounding the wedding since the announcement in early January, the event happened away from the prying eye of the media, as Lee wished.

According to singer and guest Hyun Sook, the groom was described as a “handsome man, similar-looking to the actor Kim Soo-hyun.”

The ceremony was attended by more than 1,200 guests, with many celebrities in attendance.

Singer Kim Heung Kook told "Good Morning" that Lee Byung Hun walked his sister down the aisle, causing a sight that “moved the bride’s mother to tears.”

“Both Lee Byung Hun and his mother seemed ecstatic, as they should be. Lee Eun Hee found a keeper -- good for her,” said Kim.

When Lee broke the marriage announcement, the groom was described as being well-liked among his peers and having a mild and pleasant disposition. Unlike Lee and her brother, the 35-year-old groom is an average salaryman.

The wedding garnered attention due to Lee’s involvement in the planning process.

Top Korean actor Lee Byung-hun says filming for the sequel to Hollywood action flick "G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra" is expected to start early next year.

Lee made the remark on Wednesday during a press screening and press conference for his movie "I Saw the Devil," critically acclaimed director Kim Ji-woon's latest pic co-starring actor Choi Min-shik from smash hit Korean pic "Old Boy."

"We were supposed to go into shoot around winter of this year but I had heard it would be delayed to summer of next year over problems with the scenario. But then I heard that the scenario is done so I think we'll start early next year but I'm not sure about this either," Lee explained.

The 40-year-old actor, long considered one of the most popular actors in Korea, made his Hollywood debut through the hit action figure pic from last year, playing the role of Storm Shadow opposite actors Channing Tatum and Sienna Miller.

"Devil," about a secret agent (played by Lee) plotting revenge against a serial killer (Choi) who killed his fiancee, has been lauded one of the most anticipated films this year for the collaboration of filmmaker Kim of "The Good, The Bad, the Weird" and two of the country's top actors.

The revenge thriller opened in theaters today after three rounds of ratings reviews -- the film was slapped a restricted rating twice before it received approval for an 18+ rating.

In Korea, a restricted rating virtually bans a film from being screened since they can only be shown in special theaters only showing adult films but no such theaters exist in the country.

Lee Byung Hun is the perfect candidate for Dove Hair Care’s Japanese division – seeing as he has scores of fans in Japan and luscious, soft-looking hair!

His agency, BH Entertainment, announced that the actor had signed the contract on Thursday with Unilever Japan, which manages Dove Hair Care in the country. An official at Dove said that the actor has a “powerful charm that captivates other people”, and that the consumer’s “everyday life will be able to shine brighter” knowing that Lee Byung Hun uses these Dove products.

Though he turned 40 recently, the actor is still as popular as ever. He has been in numerous television series and movies. The most recent drama series he was in, “IRIS”, turned out to be a huge hit. He will return to the big screen in “I Saw The Devil”, along with actor Choi Min Sik.
