SM the Ballad’s “Tomorrow…” had originally received a harmful media status by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family (Herefater, MOGEF) because the lyrics contained a reference to “alcohol.” On October 14, the MOGEF stated that “SM the Ballad’s ‘I Miss You too Much’ had received a harmful media status but after the lawsuit and the Supreme Court’s decision, we have removed the harmful media status.”

On August 25, SM Entertainment’s lawsuit against the MOGEF was decided in SM Entertainment’s favor. “SM the Ballad” was SM Entertainment’s project group made up of, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, SHINee’s Jong Hyun, Trax’ Jay, and JINO. After about 50 days since the court decision the Ministry of Gender Equality has made the official announcement.

But, what does receiving “Harmful Media Status” really mean? SM the Ballad’s album had to be displayed with the “Not for anyone under 19” label. About this, SM Entertainment had stated, “The MOGEF gave ‘Tomorrow…’ harmful media status without a clear standard of judgment. The action taken by the MOGEF overtly limits freedom of expression guaranteed by the Korean constitution.”

Currently, the MOGEF is now reconsidering their standards of judgment for K-Pop.

SM Entertainment has filed a lawsuit against the unfair judgment which deemed S.M The Ballad’s album as ‘inappropriate for youths’.

According to the Seoul Administrative Court, SM Entertainment filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Gender, Equality, & Family, stating, ”We cannot accept the judgment which was made with imprecise standards.”

The Ministry of Gender, Equality, & Family deemed S.M The Ballad’s track, “Another Day“, as inappropriate for anyone under legal age due to the lyrics’ references to alcohol (“Drunk on alcohol so that I don’t miss you” and “If you fall asleep drunk, you dream“).

Yet representatives of SM Entertainment are claiming this judgment to be ridiculous. One particular representative expressed their opinion to Star News, saying “We don’t understand why they would flag it for inappropriate content based on references to alcohol. They didn’t consider the charm of the song as a whole. Judging by specific words impedes the writers’ freedom of expression.”

Last November, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, SHINee’s Jonghyun, TRAX’s Jay and Jino worked together for a project group named ‘S.M The Ballad’. However, since the album was deemed as inappropriate for youths, fans under 19 years old was unable to purchase the album.

SM the Ballad song Miss you was originally owned by SHINee. The history of this beautiful song clear storied on the blog entry of the composer Miss You.

When SHINee's group name was still undecided, Jinki and Jonghyun had already recorded the song in duet style, there was intention to include the song in the debut album... At that time, there was a prelude which included Minho-goon's soft rap...An attractive baritone rap... @____@

But because it was incompatible with the album's image, there were plans to release it as a single instead...

But there was yet another change in plan, and the decision was to have Dong Bang Shin Ki's Xiah Junsu, Super Junior's Kyuhyun and SHINee's Jonghyun to perform it as a trio... (Kyuhyun-goon recorded this song before Super Junior-M's 'Better Tomorrow')

Everyone worked hard to finish recording~And....The trio's voices blended really well~Attractive attractive~

BUT!! With just 2 months before the album was to be released, Junsu released the declaration to break away from the group...

So there was a long waiting time again, and new members Jay and Jino were included to perform... This is 'Miss You'

This was released only after a really very long journey. The length of 3 years...

Am grateful that it can be born successfully... 'Where It Began' (This song was originally titled 'Where It Began')
I will often open up and listen.
'Where It Began' sang by Jinki and Jonghyun...
'Where It Began' sang by Kyuhyun, Jonghyun and Junsu....
Even though it's a pity that these versions are for my appreciation only, but it's because of these various reasons that I am able to meet Jino, it was a very enjoyable experience.^^

P.S I remember what Jino said to me during recording.
Me: Why are you always smiling?
Jino: Everyone is already very tired from recording so all the more I should smile ^^
Kind fellow...Hope you won't change and continue to keep your heart and that kindness, spend everyday happily like your Kyuhyun-hyung and Jonghyun-hyung and continue your singing career charismatically~~

Time flies.... If you did not notice, it has already been 1 Month since SM The Ballad has debuted.
Today is their 1 Month Anniversary.

Balladears(not official fanclub name) are trending #1MonthSMTB on Twitter to congratulate SM The Ballad on their 1 Month Anniversary and are very glad that they've come so far.

If you didn't know, SM The Ballad is the first ballad group formed by SM Entertainment, consisting of all members from SM Entertainment, Jay(Trax), Kyuhyun(Super Junior), Jonghyun(SHINee) & a new rookie Jino.


I shall introduce no further, It's their first month since debut today, so let's reminisce the 2 MVs that they have produced so far.

Earlier, Super Junior's Kyuhyun updated a picture on his twitter.

In his tweet, he wrote "You went through a lot these days~~SMB^^"
With the tweet, he posted a picture (below).
In the picture. you can see SM The Ballad members (Jonghyun, Jino & Kyuhyun), without Jay unfortunately, as he is busy filming for 'President'.

Looks like SM The Ballad indeed went through a lot, from their debut till now, they've been busy promoting and did not really have a good rest.

Don't forget to continue supporting SM The Ballad, with their title track 'Miss You'. :)

After the release of 'Hot Times' MV a few weeks ago, fans have been saying that they wanted to see the coloured version of the MV as the MV was black and white in colour.

Did their wish come true?
The coloured MV of 'Hot Times' was released. It was not the official MV released by SM Entertainment, but i guess fans played around with the edits and they were able to change the mono colours back to the colour of the original people.

Previously, SM The Ballad were guests for Park KyungLim's Starry Night Radio. SM The Ballad also went to Heechul's Youngstreet Radio on 15 Dec 2010.

Project Group SM The Ballad starting to receive praises from fans and netizens.. after releasing their album,appearing in Music Shows, radio programs and releasing MVs, the group has gaining a lot of interest now with their soothing yet powerful voices..

In today's Shimshimtapa.. SM The Ballad guested and even sings Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry Answer" . The song suits their voices and showcased their harmonies as well.

You would have probably heard of S.M. The Ballad by now, although they have only debuted a few weeks ago, this talented group captured many hearts in a flash with their charming voices and charismatic looks. With 3 of the members already in popular Korean groups, it is no surprise! Of course, Jino is also receiving as much love as any member in the group, for his vocals as well as his looks!
