YG Entertainment's "YG Family 15th Anniversary Concert" has now ended and concluded their successful concerts both in Korea and Japan.

The last concert was on the 22nd of January in Saitama Super Arena in Japan where YG Entertainment's Jinusean, Big Bang, 2ne1, Se7en, Gummy, Psy and Tablo performed a spectacular concert. The concert showed 7 different artists with 7 different colors. each artist showed their unique charms and strong personality on stage.

For the last show, over 40,000 fans flooded the Saitama Super Arena to witness the very rare occasion of having all seven artists from YG Entertainment perform on the same stage. YG entertainment of course did not disappoint. For the concert, they had a moving stage, special equipment's and a large screen to accommodate all viewers in the venue.

Fans were not disappointed as well, they confessed that the stage was all in all very good. The artist's strong personality and stage presence can be felt throughout the venue, and the performances were strong and the energy was high. Fans were also hoping that this year, YG artist's will be more active in Japan and they are anticipating more from the YG artist's.

All in All, the concert has garnered more than 200,000 fans from their concert held in Korea and Japan. However those 200,000 were not only fans from Korea and Japan but fans all over the world traveled to Korea and Japan to witness the concert. Now that the concert has ended, the YG artists's will be heading home on the 23rd of January and prepare for their respective activities.

YG Entertainment’s 15th Anniversary YG Family Concert jumped outside of Korea to score a huge success in Japan.

YG Entertainment artists Jinusean, Big Bang, 2NE1, Se7en, Gummy, Tablo and Psy performed in Osaka, Japan from January 7-8 to shake up the 80,000 fans who gathered in the Kyocera Dome.
As soon as 2NE1 announced the start of the concert with its debut single Fire, the dome fired up into a giant club, and when Big Bang followed, the crowd greeted them with wild cheers.

Se7en, who will be releasing a mini album in Japan on January 18, presented his Japanese fans a few performances to remember by singing his singles Somebody Else and Better Together in Japanese.

Psy and Tablo, who recently joined YG family, showcased their unique performances, and Psy especially provided a big shock when he parodied female singers as ‘Lady Psypsy’ and ‘Psyonce’ (that′s Lady Gaga and Beyonce for those of you who can′t imagine Psy breaking it down like that).

Gummy impressed with her explosive vocals and fluent Japanese, while the ‘big brothers’ Jinusean led the concert with their performances of Phone Number and A-Yo.

The concert didn’t let the eyes of its audience stray from the stage for one moment by sprinkling in new combinations of YG singers, such as having Se7en and Big Bang’s Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri sing 2NE1’s Lonely together, or bringing in Gummy, Taeyang and Park Bom to perform with Tablo onstage.

The 41 songs performed were enough to entertain the audience for the three and a half hours the concert lasted.

The concert was all the more meaningful as it was YG’s first overseas concert in five years since the 10th Anniversary YG Family Concert in 2006. As such, more than 100 media outlets rushed to cover the event at the press conference held before the concert.

The YG Family Concert will continue through Japan with another set of performances in Saitama from January 21-22.

On the 7th, South Korean hiphop group BIGBANG resumed their activities in Japan, performing at Kyocera Dome in Osaka for YG Ent’s music event “YG Family Concert in JAPAN”. Member D-Lite (22) made a flashy comeback after halting his activities due to a road accident last year.

With their backs turned, all 5 members of BIGBANG descended from a gondola up in the air to the stage, earning the biggest and loudest cheers from the audience that night. 90% of the audience were female fans. During G-Dragon’s raps and D-LITE’s solo parts in “TONIGHT”, the entire dome resounded with the loudest screams. GD breaking the guitar and the 5 of them singing the chorus together with the fans, it was similar to them getting wounded and being reborn.

Last year, after holding their Japan tour in May, D-LITE got into a road accident and was immediately put into a hiatus. Then on October, it was reported that in July, GD was interrogated by the police for Marijuana use. The news made him take a temporary halt in his activities. After 8 months, the two finally appeared on stage in front of the Japanese fans after a long while. “Everyone, I apologize for making you worry. From now on, I’ll do my best,” GD promised. Daesung on the hand spoke words of thanks, saying, “I realized how important music and the stage are to me.”

They carefully chose 10 songs to perform. “It’s been a while since the five of us were here in Japan. We hope to sing excitedly together with the fans,” SOL (23) said.

Despite being in a period of self-discipline, the group went on the receive the Worldwide Act Award in the MTV Europe Music Awards. They are the first Asian artists to be honoured with such an award, the interest and attention for the group rising up. Immediately continuing on with their activities in Japan, the group is set to make an appearance on the music program (MUSIC STATION) on January 20. “This year, we’re aiming for our own solo dome concert,” VI (21) said. “We want to become the world’s No.1!” SOL added.

Last night we had the chance to attend the YG Family Concert and OMG was it ever AWEEESOOOMME!!! The lineup was amazing: Big Bang, 2NE1, PSY, Se7en, Gummy, Tablo, and Jinusean. We saw the very last concert of the weekend (the December 4th Sunday 7:oo PM show) and it ended around 11:30 PM.

It was, however, a real fluke that we had the chance to go. We had done a newspaper interview early on in the week and in it we talked about YG Entertainment. We were surprised to receive an email from a YG Entertainment rep telling us that they’d like to send us tickets to the show! HOLY FREAKING AMAZING! *Martina does sky punches*

Now the only sad part about this story is that we had the option between standing tickets (in the floor pit area where you can eye-grope Big Bang up close) or sitting tickets further back. While we really wanted to stand, we were worried that Simon’s giantness would block a lot of people’s field of vision, and then he would get attacked by angry fangirls and stabbed in the kidneys by an angry fangirl’s glow sticks. That would have been sad. So, we chose the seats, BUT we were happily surprised to discover that the venue at Olympic Stadium is very awesomely laid out; no matter where you sit, you can see perfectly! YAY!

Now, we had a press package that gave us the set list, and I translated it the best I could, but I didn't actually know some of the names of the songs, so hopefully some of you guise can fill it in for us! However, the set list wasn't totally accurate. There were some changes in the order, and it felt like a few songs were missing/were different. All I know is that 2NE1 opened the show with I Am The Best followed by Fire, so that’s already one big change!

(YG Family Concert 2011 Setlist)

Anyways, sorry, but we couldn’t show any footage of the concert. It would get pulled from YouTube by YG and then we’d be in big trouble for posting it. And, hell, we wouldn’t want to steal that footage from YG after they were kind enough to give us the tickets for free. That’d be a real jerk move! Not that we could anyways: they had the most amazing security ninja guards grabbing cameras and scolding people.

Unfortunately, the security guards didn’t get a hold of the jerk faced foreigners sitting two rows ahead of us. They got totally shitfaced drunk, and did nothing but grope and make out with each other and yell obnoxiously throughout the show. Good job, jerk bags. I hope you read our blog and know that you annoyed the hell out of everyone around you.

But that was the only bad thing about the show. Honestly, we can say that this was one of the best concert experiences we’ve ever attended. It was meticulously organized. One song flowed into the next song seamlessly. Lights and camera work and display screens and pyrotechnics were all perfectly synchronized to the music. Perfect misdirection of attention would have you focus on one thing while someone else was setting up somewhere else. It was…just awesome. Really. We said this in the video and we’ll say it here again: we will be going to these concerts from now on, and we highly recommend everyone do the same. Even if you’re not a fan of every song, you’ll at least be stunned by how awesome the entire show is.

The show was entirely in Korean, though, and a lot of the breaks between songs were of artists talking to the audience. Even THAT was awesome. Yes, we didn’t understand everything happening, but we could tell that they were very comfortable with what they were saying, and were very humorous as well. We’ve been to lots of concerts where artists are really awkward between songs, stumbling and stuttering out some small talk, and we sometimes find it annoying, if not humorous. Here, though, it seemed like their small talk was even rehearsed perfectly.

One of the things we found really touching about the show as well was Daesung’s appearance. As soon as he took to the mic everyone screamed their guts out in support of him. And when he said whatever it was he said in Korean, people cheered him on sooooo strongly. Really. Great show of support there. It even looked like he was going to cry. Daesung, fighting!

Ah! That’s it for now. Thanks again to YG for sending us the tickets. Really, it was one of our coolest experiences here in Korea. Woot! And here’s someone else’s fan cam of, perhaps, the highlight of the night: Big Bang covering 2NE1′s “I Am The Best.” Not the best quality, but definitely HILARIOUS!

Music has the great power to overcome obstacles as well as time, and 2NE1, Big Bang, Se7en, Gummy, Jinusean, Psy and Tablo, the newest addition to the YG Entertainment family, came together to become one through music.

The YG artists gathered on the Gymnastics Stadium stage at Seoul’s Olympic Park on December 4 for the 15th Anniversary YG Family Concert, where they performed for a crowd of 13,000 screaming fans.

2NE1 opened the show with hit song Fire before captivating the audience with performances of Can’t Nobody and Go Away. Member Sandara Park couldn’t contain her joy when she said, “I can’t tell if it’s a dream or reality that 2NE1 is taking part in YG Family’s 15th anniversary.”

The baton was then passed off to group Big Bang, who took to the stage for the first time together as five members in eight months. This marked the first time all of the members were greeting fans as one group since Daesung’s car accident and since G-Dragon was charged for marijuana use.

The concert was meaningful not only for the Big Bang members but for the group’s fans as well. Taeyang said, “It’s been a while since the five Big Bang members stood on stage together, and I’m glad we could stand together at a meaningful place like the YG Family 15th anniversary concert. I hope we can be together for not only the 15th anniversary but for the 20th anniversary as well.”

Daesung and G-Dragon, who returned to the stage after their fair share of ups and downs, shared their honest feelings about standing on stage again.

“It’s been a really long time since I’ve stood on stage,” said Daesung. “I realized how precious music and the stage is through being able to stand at this concert and the good times I’ve had in the past. Thank you.”

G-Dragon said, “I’m sorry for making everyone worry for one reason or another. I will make sure something like this doesn’t happen again,” before adding, “I will make up for it with good music.”

The glue of YG, Gummy and Se7en, were applauded for their colorful performances. The return of YG’s original hip hop duo Jinusean, which also celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, made the occasion all the more special. Member Sean said, “Welcome to YG’s 15th anniversary concert. This is a particularly meaningful stage for us.” He continued, “Just as it is YG Family’s 15th anniversary, it has been 15 years for Jinusean as well. Thank you for supporting us from the beginning and for cheering on YG Family’s success.”

Tablo, who was the target of a witch hunt concerning his academic credentials, then moved fans with performances of his hit songs. He introduced himself, saying “This is Tablo of Epik High, the youngest member and late child of YG, who is responsible for the lonely and melancholy winter air in a warm familial atmosphere.” He then said, “It’s been a while since I’ve seen you all from the stage (loud cheers), and I think it’s for this reason that I began doing music. Thank you very much.”

One of the many highlights of the night was Psy’s performance. He kicked off his set with Right Now before getting the fans on their feet with Celebrity, Shake It, Paradise and Champion.

The collaboration performances between the YG artists, however, proved to be the most memorable. Se7en and G-Dragon made surprise appearances during Jinusean’s performance, adding to the energy onstage. Se7en, Taeyang, Seungri and Daesung also surprised fans with a performance of 2NE1’s Lonely, while Sandara Park joined Psy on stage for Celebrity, causing fans to burst into laughter with her ‘Psy dance.’ It was a show that would have been difficult to witness anywhere else.

YG will take the family concert abroad for the first time in five years, since its overseas 10th anniversary concert. Japanese record label and Avex, who has formed YGEX in partnership with YG Entertainment, will bring the concert to Osaka’s Kyocera Dome on January 7 and 8 before making a stop at the Saitama Super Arena on January 21 and 22.
