She waited 5 years. She didn't only have a trainee life. Although she came out before her debut under a lot of attention 3 years before, she did not succeed. Because she missed it, she fell into disappointment. She went back to Canada where her home was. But, she couldn't give up her singing dream. She came back. In 2 and a half years until her national comeback, she came into the world of singers as a solo female singer. This is the story of the former leader of Five Girls, G.NA (23, Gina Choi).

While G.NA released a mini album with the recent R&B dance song 'I'll Back Off So You Can Live' as her title song, she officially debuted into the world of singers. 'I'll Back Off So You Can Live' is maintaining high rankings in music charts nowadays, and it is keeping a concentrated attention from fans. At the end of a long wait, she is happy to accomplish her dream, but because she is receiving interest from the people, each day deeply touches her now.

"I am truly overflowed with joy. Although it was difficult, I was able to endure with the help of the people around me. Although I don't have worries or burdens when I debut, my heart is beating high as I anticipate the path I will automatically take from now on."

After G.NA was born in Edmonton, Canada in 1987, she grew up in Vancouver with her mother and father, whom were national athletes of Korea for swimming and Taekwondo. Even there, she frequently received Korean music, and she embraced a dream of becoming a singer in 2005, making her head out to Korea. When she passed the 'Battle of Shinhwa' Auditions, she felt as if she accomplished her dream. Yubin (who is a member of Wonder Girls right now), UEE (who is in After School), Hyosung (Secret's leader), and Jiwon (who is active as a musical actor) were organized into Five Girls as 5 members, and they put ahead their official debut in 2007.

But, debuting wasn't easy. Although Five Girls even came out as main guests for cable reality programs, they couldn't officially debut at that time due to various problems. At this, Five Girls was called the girl group of misfortune.

Of course the case is different today. Each of the members of Five Girls are making their names known in new groups. G.NA, the eldest unni and the leader with the lead vocals, debuted as a solo singer. As she thinks about Five Girls, G.NA's heart overflows with joy.

"Although I'm the unni, I'm receiving strength from the care of my dongsaengs. Because the dongsaengs of Five Girls are succeeding, I am overflowing with joy. Not too long ago, I watched the videos they sent me to congratulate my debut, and I was touched."

However, G.NA dislikes gaining attention by being a former member of Five Girls. Also, although she possesses a glamorous body, she dislikes being evaluated as a singer who defeats others with her sexiness. Because she is confident about her singing and dancing, her most important goal is to be acknowledged through her music.

G.NA said, "In order to sing live while doing stage performances, I continued to jog and jump rope while singing," and "My favorite singers are Yoon Mirae and Park Janghyun sunbaenim. I will continue to improve so even with a triumphant return, I can become one of those singers where fans will go 'Ah, this must be G.NA's song' when they listen to my voice right away in the first part of a song.

For a long period, G.NA, who experienced many obstacles like roller coaster rides, will incline more attention as a girl who will unfold into a singer.
