[News] 2ne1 Is Actually A 5 Member Girl Group?

A Korean actress Lee Honey confessed that she was originally to debut as a member of 2NE1! Honey recently appeared on the MBC Radio “Blue Night” and had time to share about her past as well as memorable incidents that happened while she was a trainee.

Lee Honey was the Miss Korea pageant winner in 2006 and is also well-known for her wonderful skills in playing the Gayageum, a traditional Korean zither-like string instrument.

She confessed on a radio station that her initial dream was to be a singer and not an actress. She went on, saying that she had been actually working on her debut album together with other trainees who are now known as Bom, Dara, CL and Minzy, members of the popular Korean girl group, 2NE1.

Unfortunately, when she had an unexpected change of plans and had to prepare for the 50th Miss Korea contest in 2006 and her dream had to be put aside. After she won the Miss Korea pageant titleholder, she also participated in the Miss Universe 2007 pageant as a representative of South Korea.

While Honey was successfully continuing her career in beauty pageants and later as an actress, the four remaining trainees formed 2NE1.

On the radio show, Lee Honey commented, “If it weren’t for the Miss Korea contest, I might have been the 5th member of 2NE1 and singing on the stage instead of acting. I’m still in touch with the 2NE1 members and I’m grateful for their success.”
