On Sunday, October 30th at Shinkiba Studio Coast, the kpop monster “MBLAQ” held high five event for fans who purchased their 2nd single “Baby U!”. 1500 people out of those who participated high five event were chosen by lottery and attended the premiun live and the bingo session.
The blast of a siren and anticipation of fans filled the place then MBLAQ appeared! The live started with “Mona Lisa” while fans screamed really loudly. After that, MBLAQ introduced themselves “Hello we are MBLAQ!”. Seungho said “Long time no see, I’m Seungho, the leader of MBLAQ”. G.O followed “We’ll gain lots of energy from you today”. They also continued “Our second single “Baby U!” is released on Oct. 26th”, “Have you heard already?”, “Thank you” and enjoyed fans reaction.
Joon ambitiously said “We’ll continue to work hard in Japan, so please support us even more”. Seungho introduced “Baby U!” as “Our 2nd single is powerful and exciting song. I’d be glad if this song could give you good vibes”. “Alright, alright, alright” Mir answered the audience and introduced next song. “Please listen, our debut single “Your Luv”". They performed passionately, Seungho’s acrobat was outstanding and fans screamed their lungs out. The audience gave the loudest cheer to each members’ solo part and the enthusiasm was at the peak then. Along came the MC and moved onto the bingo session.
In order of Seungho, Joon, G.O, Cheondung and Mir, numbers were chosen by the bingo machine and announced. The fans who got bingo were given the prize, which was “Baby U!” cushions with all members’ autograph on it. The prize was given from members to fans directly, so the crowds got even more excited. Everytime the number was called, Mir kept asking to fans “bingo? bingo?” then fans said “he’s cute”.
5 lucky fans received cushions from hands to hands, then even got hugged by each members. Others stared enviously. Then Joon said “It’s our last song for today” and G.O continued “Please listen, “Baby U!”". G.O liven up the audience by coming to the very end of the stage, then moved from the right to the left. Seungho shook hands with fans. Mir hurt his eyes while dancing and made fans worry. The way fans supported was really impressive. At last, they took pictures with all fans with yelling “Baby U!”.
Seungho commented “Thank you very much for coming today even it’s raining”. G.O said “We are your “boyfriends”. Thank you and love you” and fans screamed once again. Cheondung sincerely thanked “I’m really grateful to everyone. I’ll work hard” and Joon continued “I’m everyone’s Lee Joon” with his shy but cute way of expression. Mir said “I’m fine” and “Thanks for coming everyone. We’ll show you better stage next time”. All members interacted with fans by throwing towels. Mir was the last one who stayed on the stage and wiped his sweat even in his shirt then threw the towel to the audience and left with hearing fans’ laughters and screams.
It was short, but exciting stage. “Baby U!” has sold 20.000 copies on the very first day and marked #2 on the Oricon Daily Chart. Their debut single archieved #1. No one can stop MBLAQ now. From 28th till 30th, they toured Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo, and high fived with 23.000 people in total.
MBLAQ stands for Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality. They are never behind their band name and surely won people’s heart. Their producer Rain has enlisted the army, so they are working impressively as a group and also individuals in many fields such as dramas, hollywood movies, variety shows, MC and CF.
