There was a Hallyu cultural event held in Peru. The main event of this festival were the celebrities that came as volunteers for KOICA.
On November 27th in the second episode of MBC's "KOICA's Dream", their first recording of volunteer work was "Peru's Hope, Rising 4000 m."
In this recording of the cultural event, MBLAQ's surprisingly immense popularity was recognized.
As the KOICA volunteers stepped off the bus, Peruvian fans went wild when they saw MBLAQ. At the fans' reaction towards the idol group, Kim Hyo Jin and Park Jung Ah laughed as they remarked, "It's like MBLAQ is having a performance."
On the other side, when Park Jung Ah was asking, "Do you guys understand Korean?" to the Peruvian fans, MBLAQ showed up and everyone averted their attention on them. Seeing this, Park Jung Ah commented with a laugh, "It seems like they [MBLAQ] are going to have to release an album soon. They've been relaxing way too much."
There was also a flash mob where the fans danced to various K-pop songs. It was amazing to witness the craze of the Hallyu wave.
For MBLAQ's final performance they sang 'Mona Lisa.' Although MBLAQ primarily came to Peru to do volunteer work, it was clear to see how charismatic MBLAQ was under that hard-working image. There were also female fans that cried seeing their performance.
After this Hallyu event was over, Kim Hyo Jin and Park Jung Ah helped clean up. Kim Hyo Jin commented, "We had a Hangul writing competition and it was really surprising to see how much they knew." Park Jung Ah also said, "We felt how big their love for Korea is." The KOICA volunteers that came together were also very surprised by the craze of the Hallyu wave.
