[News] President Obama catches the 'Korean Wave'
On his third visit to South Korea, President Obama seems to have caught the "Korean Wave"!
United States President Barack Obama visited South Korea for the second Nuclear Security Summit that took place in Seoul on March 26th and 27th. Obama gave a speech at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul and discussed the quickly evolving "digital era" and how SNS are changing the world.
He mentioned two Korean SNS services me2day and KakaoTalk. Even officials at each company seemed surprised by his comment, welcoming the unexpected free publicity they gained through the President’s remark.
Obama even mentioned the trending word 'Hallyu' (Korean Wave). "It’s no wonder so many people around the world have caught the Korean Wave", Obama said, in one of his biggest applause lines.
No matter what the challenge, "we go together," Obama said closing his remarks with the Korean translation, "Katchi kapshida!"
