Shinhwa’s Dongwan cast in KBS drama ‘Cheer Up, Mister Kim’


Shinhwa’s Kim Dongwan will make a small screen comeback as the male lead in an upcoming KBS daily series.

According to The J Story on August 27th, Dongwan will take on the role of Kim Tae Pyeong, a good-looking and skillful housekeeper in the upcoming series ‘Cheer Up, Mister Kim’. Depicting family love and sweet romance, the series is set to make its premiere in November after current series ‘Reaching For the Stars’ ends its run.

‘Cheer Up, Mister Kim’ tells the story of 32-year old Kim Tae Pyeong who suddenly becomes the guardian of 4 kids each bearing a different surname. He has overcome a tough life through perseverance and tenacity, and shows family love and warmth that goes beyond blood ties to the children who share a similar childhood to his own.

Dongwan commented, “I’m bit nervous in starring in a long term series but I'm relieved since I will be working with a great crew. I’m looking forward in portraying my character who is unlike any of the other roles that I have played before.”

Kim Dongwan has established himself as an actor with his roles in the award-winning MBC special Liberation Day drama ‘The Peak’, and the box-office hit ‘Yeongasi (Deranged)’, and the fans have reacted excitedly to his new project.
