After 9 months of hiatus, SHINee has comeback with their newest album Lucifer. Outstanding because of Lucifer's image, shocked because of Lucifer's powerful performance. Once teenagers, has SHINee really become charismatic "dangerous men"? From this interview with Easy magazine, we still felt their shine from Lucifer and their exciting side.
Q1) Easy: In this album, Jonghyun and Onew participated in the lyric writing. Was there a particular reason?
Jonghyun: In this album, we've included the song "Obsession" and it was written before "Juliette". It's just that it was included in the album at a later date. I wrote it because I thought it was interesting so I gave it a try. I've been writing lyrics regularly. In particular, "Juliette" and "Obsession" were quite good, so that's why they were chosen.
Onew: I also wanted to do it so I started writing.
Q2) Easy: In terms of the songs you wrote, what did the people around you think and how did they react?
Onew: Quite a lot of people said "must have dated a lot of times?" when they heard it.
Q3) Easy: During the preparations for this album, how did you expect fans to react?
Jonghyun: Haven't really thought of their reactions or it would be good if they have this reaction. After choosing the look for this album, we put more effort into letting people understand/ appreciate SHINee's charms more. From the yunhanam image of "Replay" to the weak image of "Juliette", we didn't just show ourselves on purpose, we wanted to show SHINee's styles.
Onew: It seemed like everything was a process of growing up. Our members have matured a lot.
Q4) Easy: Have seen a report saying that SHINee hates hearing words like "Skinnier than Women"?
Jonghyun: Of course we hate that. If we must say, our weight could even be heavier.
Q5) Easy: After receiving #1 at KBS 2TV Music Bank, Onew's crying picture became a topic.
Onew: I also didn't know why I cried. The period of hiatus wasn't long but wasn't short either. Perhaps, I was thanking our fans who have been with us/ thinking about us during that period, that's why I was like that? Then tears came down like a babo (fool).
Q6) Easy: Onew who challenged to be a musical actor, what are the charms of musicals?
Onew: Within the 2 hours, I could breathe with the audiences, it is a charm. As there was direct interactions, it was very good
Jonghyun: Saw the musical performance, it seemed like it was done very well, very interesting.
Q7) Easy: The members have seen each other for 5 years already. You guys must know each other very well?
Jonghyun: It's 5 years, even if we don't talk, we'll still....
Onew: No, we still need to talk! (laughs)
Q8) Easy: What do you think is the charm that only SHINee has?
Onew: Isn't our charm...we are able to show many different images/sides of us? Seeing us grow bit by bit and letting everyone know that we are able to do this and that.
