Idol is evolving. Saying an idol only need to have a good looking face and talent is the thing in the past. Having a good reaction in variety programs and having a few personal talent is also not enough. Now, idols need to do well in MC-ing as now the attention is on the 'MC-dol'.
Currently there are more idols from boy groups then girl groups who receives the spotlight of becoming an MC-dol. Among the MC-dol, Super Junior Kim Heechul, Shinee Onew and Beast Lee Kikwang are the ones at the center now.

On the other hand, there is also someone who did not hold the potential but then became an MC-dol. CNBLUE Jung Yonghwa, last 29th Dec 2009 became an MC for the SBS Gayo Daejeon and did many mistakes, making him known as 'Public Nuissance MC'
Afterwards, Jung Yonghwa joined f(x) Sulli and 2AM JoKwon to host SBS 'Inkigayo' together in order to let go of this disgraceful image. Although he still makes a few cute mistakes now and then but his ability has remarkably improved smoothly and can now pass to be the next generation MC.
