Two of Super Junior‘s power vocalists, Yesung and Ryeowook, have participated in the soundtracks for two rival television dramas, Warrior Baek Dong Soo andSpy Myeongwol.
Both dramas air in the same Monday-Tuesday timeslot and boast casts of fresh faces and seasoned stars such as Ji Chang Wook (Smile, Donghae) & Yoo Seung Ho (God of Study) in Warrior Baek Dong Soo and Han Ye Seul (Will It Snow For Christmas?) & Shinhwa‘s Eric (Mighty Chilwoo) in Spy Myeongwol.
Yesung’s ballad “단 하루만 (For One Day)” has been garnering much praise as the main theme song for Warrior Baek Dong Soo. The martial-arts fusion historial drama depicts the crossed paths of the story’s hero (and real life legend) Baek Dong Soo (Ji Chang Wook) and his childhood rival Yeo Woon (Yoo Seungho).
Meanwhile, Spy Myeongwol began featuring Ryeowook’s “더 사랑한다면 (If You Love Me More)” on this Monday’s episode. In this hilarious romantic comedy, Han Ye Seul plays North Korean spy Myeongwol, who is ordered to seduce and marry South Korean hallyu star Kang Woo (Eric) and defect him to North Korea within three months.
With both songs released on July 18, Yesung and Ryeowook have been put in direct competition, just like Warrior Baek Dong Soo andSpy Myeonwol. Despite the high popularity of both tracks, the two dramas are still trailing behind Miss Ripley (which JYJ’s Yoochun stars in and sings for) in the viewer ratings.

The MV for Yesung’s “For One Day” has also been released, complete with scenes from aired episodes of Warrior Baek Dong Soo.
