IU is confirmed to be the singer of the year.
Soribada revealed “2011 First Quarter Top Ten K-pop Songs” which combines the number of downloads and streams from January 1st to March 30th. IU topped the chart with her three consecutive hit songs, ‘Good Day,’ ‘Someday’ and ‘The Story Only I Didn’t Know.’ IU is the only singer who held multiple songs in the chart.
Besides IU, original sound tracks of dramas gained great popularity. Especially, ‘That Man’ sung by Hyun Bin in SBS drama ‘Secret Garden’ was dominant and claimed the 2nd spot on the chart. BigBang’s ‘Tonight’ came in 8th while ‘Why (Keep Your Head Down)’ by TVXQ, who returned with masculine appeal after a long break, was ranked in the 5th place. G.NA’s ‘Black & White’ and Lee Hyun’s ‘You Are the Best of My Life’ were ranked in the 6th and 9th place respectively.
