[News] IU's three wishes for the new year + Japan promotions!

Following 'Good Day', IU lit up everyone's lives with her song, 'You and I'. We asked her about her new year wishes to welcome the year 2012 and after much hesitation, she chose travelling as her first wish. "I would really like to go travelling", she said, smiling radiantly. In an interview with IU last year, she also expressed her wish to get her driving license upon turning 20, in order to travel to many different places by herself.

On Jan 1st, Sports Korea met up with IU in the waiting room during a music program (Note: most probably SBS Inkigayo). From her trainee days until now, she has mostly been going back and forth around the same place, so it seems only natural that she wants to open her eyes to the world outside now.

With a firm expression, IU expressed her second wish, "To not fall sick and not become worn out". Recalling the episode of being rushed to the emergency room just before 'Good Day' was released, she stressed the importance of being in good health. The additional 'to not become worn out' part this year, can be seen as her will to not forget what she originally set out to achieve, even after getting herself into a high position.

"I want to perform on many stages" was IU's third wish. IU who will be debuting in Japan and holding her showcase on Jan 24th said that rather than charts and sales figures, "I would like to focus on the stage itself". Aware that she should treat every stage with importance, IU recalled her rigorous year-end schedule in 2011 and said, "I'll start preparing now in order to present wonderful stages for the year-end specials this year."

After wrapping up promotions for 'Last Fantasy' in mid-Jan, IU plans to go into preparations for her Japan debut.

Additional info: From 24th Jan, IU will be staying in Japan for a week and has plans to attend various media interviews and fansigns. The showcase will be held at Tokyo’s Bunkamura Orchard Hall (photo).
