[NEWS] Big Bang & 2NE1′s Activities in Japan Anticipated to Bring Record Profits
2NE1 will release its first studio album in Japan on March 28. After releasing its debut single in Japan last September, the group will be increasing its activities in the country.
Big Bang, which has already amassed a large fan base in Japan, will also be releasing its album with 2NE1 on the same day. Additionally, Big Bang will carry on its tour in Japan in five cities after kicking off its world tour in Seoul on March 4.
YG Entertainment is already anticipating the sales that will be generated from 2NE1 and Big Bang’s activities in Japan this year. According to Kyobo Securities, YG’s family concert in April attracted 160,000 fans and Big Bang’s tour in Japan in May and June is set to be attended by an additional 130,000 fans. 2NE1 has yet to announce any concerts in Japan but held a number of successful stages there last year.
Hi Investment & Securities says 2NE1 and Big Bang’s Japanese activities will increase YG’s overseas royalty earnings, while a researcher at Hi Investment & Securities added, “We are anticipating the overseas royalty earnings to intensify this year as Big Bang and 2NE1 join forces. Through the combined increased power we are anticipating record earnings and profits in overseas royalty sales.”
