[News] Girls' Generation, KARA, CNBLUE, 2NE1, SHINee and 2PM receives nominations for MTV VMAJ 2012
On March 19th, MTV Japan revealed the nominees for the MTV VMAJ 2012 (Video Music Awards Japan 2012). Some of the top Kpop stars have received nominations including Girls' Generation, KARA, CNBLUE, 2NE1, SHINee and 2PM.
Girls' Generation received nomination for two awards; "Best Video of the Year" for their hit single "Mr. Taxi" and "Best Album of the Year" for their first Japanese album "Girls’ Generation".
2PM received nomination in the "Best Group Video" for their hit track "I'm Your Man", while in the "Best Choreography" category, SHINee received a nomination for "LUCIFER".
In the "Best New Artist Video" category, CNBLUE received a nomination for "In My Head" along with 2NE1 with "I AM THE BEST".
And along with Girls' Generation, KARA received nomination in the "Best Album of the Year" category.
Like its counterpart in the US, the MTV VMAJ awards artists for their songs and videos through online voting. This time around, the online voting has begun since March 19th and will go on until June 8th.
The MTV VMAJ 2012 will take place at Makuhari Messe, Chiba on June 23rd and the event will be hosted by Japanese girl group Perfume.
